Always enjoyable and unique
by MrStevens on 12/22/17Sony Centre for the Performing Arts - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5Distant Worlds is always a treat, and it was especially fun to be at a performance in the same audience with Uematsu. The venue is in a great location, there's a ton to do in Toronto. The venue interior was modern, so not as fun as a grand old theater, but musically it sounded very good. This was a good selection of songs. It was a little heavy on VII, which makes sense with the remake coming out. My only complaint was that some of the songs felt unrehearsed- the choir seemed to not be following accurately at certain points or were hard to hear/drowned out on some songs. I was super excited to hear Apocalypsis Noctis, but it sounded sadly kind of sloppy. Perhaps more time was needed for the local orchestra and choir to really feel comfortable with the entire repertoire.
