I loved the music, but I’ve only played FFXI (for 12 years), and was disappointed that there was no music from my game! Still had a great time and enjoyed the music.
The whole experience was amazing. Songs were wonderful, though I did get worried they weren't gonna play One Winged Angel, but they saved it for last and honestly, it was a good choice. Sent shivers down my spine with how great they played it
It was just as amazing as it was 10 years ago. I would definitely go again. This is a "must" experience for any FF fan.
Thoroughly enjoyed the concert experience and the convenience of buying ticket and parking online!
There aren’t enough wonderful words to describe “Distant Worlds.” It was truly magical. Everything from the venue at the Orpheum to the amazing graphics on screen, the ambiance was amazing. The choice of music ranged throughout the games to give everyone moments of nastalgia. If they come back to the twin cities in the next decade, we will indeed be there.
Distant Worlds is amazing! This is the ultimate way to hear music from Final Fantasy.
If your a final fantasy fan this is a must! Videos are great, music is great just go
This event was the perfect opportunity for me to reconnect with my brother and relive the nostalgia of tunes we would whistle to each other as kids, only now orchestrated and felt on a deeper level.
Distant World's is an amazing group of amazing musicians! The music from Final Fantasy has always had a special place in my heart and I have never been happier then to hear it performed live! My favorite song that they performed was The Oath from Final Fantasy 7. APOCALYPSIS NOCTIS from Final Fantasy XV was also wonderful as both are highly nostalgic songs for me. They really do the music from this series justice. I hope that, should they return to DPAC that they will play more music from Final Fantasy XV and 13, 13-2, and Lightning Returns. It was a true honor to see them and I would love to see them again.
I’m unsure as to whether the venue is to blame, but the DW show was short, had technical difficulties, and the stage was too small. There were no soloists like there were in previous DW shows. The videos being played during the concert did not match the songs’ rythyms or meanings. It was like they hired someone who never played any of the games to be responsible for conveying the songs’ messages. I was unimpressed with many of the videos, but they got a few right. Zanarkand, Liberi Fatali, Heavansward, Cosmo Canyon, Opening Bombing Mission, and Jenova Complete were the songs that really impressed me. I am a returning fan - I went to DW2 in Atlanta in 2011 or so. I love the Final Fantasy series and I want to see DW improve so that I can go to more shows and be blown away like I was in Atlanta.
Incredible performance of beautiful songs with videos of scenes that took me way back. I cried in a lot of them. Excellent in every way. Highly recommend it
I kept my hopes pretty high and I was still amazed! Truly a dream come true to see them live!
I've always loved the music of Final Fantasy. I've seen some of the concerts on YouTube and they were awesome. On a whim I checked their website and saw they were coming to Durham for the first time. I immediately bought tickets and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The music is so much more beautiful when performed in person.
The venue was great and we were about 4 rows back from stage. It was absolutely amazing! Everything you’d expect of Final Fantasy music! Great experience.
Third time seeing Distant Worlds and each time is unique and a true experience.
Will go again! I have not seen anything like it before and the orchestra was flawless.
There were a few hiccups done by the orchestra, but as an instrumentator, I know accidents can happen. The show was very good. You get to watch some Final Fantasy footage while the orchestra is playing. Love Arnie Roth and his humor. He's a great guy.
I was so excited to learn that this tour would finally come to NC. They truly lived up the many years of stellar performances. The venue, as always, is a lovely upscale place, providing a wide assortment of events
It was just amazing, it can be enjoy by anyone for sure.
This is one of the best Distant Worlds I've attended. It had some of the most enjoyable arrangements I've heard yet, and a great variety of songs from the various games.
