Absolutely the perfect tonic. Such a talented orchestra at Atlanta and everyone involved from the volunteers up ensured this was a wonderful experience.
Everything about this show was amazing! The setlist was perfect and shared a song from almost every game. 100% recommend this for anyone who has a chance to see it especially fans of the series.
One of the most amazing experiences I’ve had. The music selection was wide reaching and expertly executed.
The musician of the Atlanta Symphony really brought the music to life. Everything gave me chills and some songs made me tear up!
My husband and I planned for this concert for months! We celebrated his birthday and found it to be as delightful as we hoped. We are hoping to return again the next time the concert is touring. Thank you for making our night memorable!
Extremely well done performance. They played so many of my favorite themes and medleys from the Final Fanstasy series.
Mg boys loved it. It was an amazing and well put together performance.
Due to the final fantasy 7 remake concert being canceled, I was able to attend the distant worlds concert and was able to snag better seats. It brought back over 20 years of nostalgia… I would definitely go again
I went to this back in 2013 and loved it so much that I got so much merch last time I came. I've played only one FF game, VI. But I love all the music. I'm also so glad they added a choir this time. Even if you've heard only one song in this beloved franchise, please go see it. It is incredible!
This was my first Orchestra and it did not disappoint. I was blown away at how amazing the music was.
Distant worlds sounded great - as should be expected! Below are my pros and cons: Pros: Sounded great Were very professional and funny in introduction of songs. It was a true celebration of the franchise. Visual for the chocobo medley was humorous Successfully brought that nostalgia feeling to any final fantasy fan Celebrated Final Fantasy for what it is - didn't just play music. Cons: The visual was distracting and bad. They played scenes from the games their song was from. This would have been fine, except for the following: a) the screen was far up, completely blocking view of the choir unless you were in the front row (partially the theater's fault, not theirs, but still detracted from experience), b) the scenes shown did not match up well with the music at all. For example, there was a specific time in the chocobo medley where it was very obvious a visual was meant to line up with a spike in the music, but it was quite a bit off. c) many of the cutscenes really didn't fit the idea of the music. Showing the Zach scene from crisis core where he saves cloud from soldiers outside of Midgar (specifically vague to prevent spoilers, but you all know this emotional scene) for a Genova song and for the Battle medley really doesn't fit. Another example is showing the Tidus blitzball scene in Zanarkand, which has heavy metal music in the actual game, to the "To Zanarkand" soundtrack; really didn't fit the scene whatsoever outside of being in the same city. Many other scenes were simply repeated multiple times and didn't line up with the depth of the music being played. This would have been 4 or 5 stars if they had just removed the visuals all together and stuck with the music. Maybe throw in some lighting effects, but not required. Neutral: I wish they would have played One Winged Angel in the middle; but there are a lot of great songs they have to choose from and have to share the love across. They seemed to give love to specific final fantasies over others. Of course some have better soundtracks in general (Arguably, 6 has the best), but 2, 3, 5, X-2, XIII-2 and 3, and the Tactics series didn't really get any attention at all. Understandable due to them not being as popular, but something to call out.
I’ve never been to a distant worlds concert but have heard nothing but amazing reviews. I went in with very high expectations and they were blown out of the water by the excellent performance. The conductor had a vast knowledge of the history as well as a clear passion for it. I am pleased to say the performance exceeded the expected value and would recommend it to anyone.

Great pieces, fantastic orchestra, and the theater was in a cool part of Columbus Ohio that we got to explore before and after the show!
Got great seats at the Ohio Theater and the show was amazing. Highly recommend this show to a Final Fantasy fan no matter the venue. Even if you've played a couple and just like some of the songs. It'll be a nostalgic revisit as well as introductions to some new games/titles to play through.
It was absolutely a must see for any fan of the Final Fantasy series. Even though there were a few songs I wasn’t familiar with, I was able to enjoy the music. There was a beautiful screen up showcasing the game in which the song was from. Arnie Roth is a Genius and I can’t wait for Distant Worlds to come back!
I sat on ground level by the stage and all I have to say is that everything was amazing. I had a great time.
Hope to see Distant Worlds back soon!! Hopefully with a vocalist though.
The music was beautiful, better than expected. The whole experience was very well done. I would highly recommend it.
