  • My love for FF goes on....

by Jess819 on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show, and I happened to bring a fellow gamer who didn't play most of the FF games, and he still had a great time. The music was enchanting, beautiful and reminiscent of all my favorite FF games, still a little bummed that they did the Maria and Draco Opera only at 3 PM show and I was at the 8 PM show, but that only means I will have to go again the next time the show comes back to NY area. It really was a great time.

  • A great experience!

by Anonymous on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a huge fan of the music Nobuo Uematsu has produced and recorded for the Final Fantasy games since I first played and finished Final Fantasy VIII in 1999, and I had to jump at the chance to see the music live and orchestrated. The venue was about 40 minutes out of Manhattan, which was not bad at all. They had a huge screen floating over the orchestra; while this was distracting (I like to watch musicians as they perform), it really added to the experience. The visuals added to the aural component of the show because not only was I hearing the songs that I love, I associated them with their accompanying scenes that I remember from long ago. I can only assume everybody else in the theater had the same wonderful experience.

  • A long drive, but worth it

by GmanJ on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

If you don't know what 'Music From FINAL FANTASY' means, this probably is not going to interest you. But if you're a fan, or sort of a fan and you're wondering if this is worth the time and money, the answer is yes. I had wanted to take my little brother to the one in the DC region in 2010, but couldn't get the night off from work. So this time we drove 500 miles round trip and had a great time. There were cosplayers, game lovers, and a hilariously a handful of season ticket holders at the venue who had no idea what was going on. I would definitely recommend it to a friend who was a gamer and will try to go again when they do another tour.

  • Amazing concert

by FFMusicLover on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed this concert, and was extremely happy I didn't miss out. I love the venue (NJPAC) because you will almost always get a seat with a view. Having the guests (RIKKI, Nobuo Uematsu and Susan Calloway) was definitely what pushed me to buy the tickets. The music selection was great, considering they had so many to choose from. 2 1/2 hours flew by and I was a little saddened when it ended. A couple things I would wish was changed - there should be more than one table/area to buy merchandise; the lineups were insane. Another thing is that I wish they had one or two more songs after the last one. The Legend of Zelda concert had 3 bravo songs.

  • Distant Worlds was simply magical!

by Durande on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, if you are a fan of Final Fantasy, neigh a fan of ororchestral music in general go see this. The rendition of Suteki Da Ne was tear inducing.

This was just an amazing concert... I had chills running through me the ENTIRE performance. There needs to be another one soon in NJ/NYC!!!!

Delivered as promised on the repertoire, and included a special guest appearance by Nobuo himself.

  • Distant Worlds is great part 2!!

by KatsuH on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Being at both performances I enjoyed this one as well, different variety of songs and more interactions with 2-3 songs. It's still sad that they didn't have enough merchandise for this showing due to the fact they didn't bring enough and they sold most of it during the first showing.

  • Thrilling music epic!

by Anonymous on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fantastic! Nobuo Uematsu, Susan Calloway, and Rikki all put on unforgettable performances. Arnie Roth made a very well thought layout of the program. The visuals was fitting to the music. The show even had a small interactive part for the audience. This is a highly recommended show and I would love to go again!

  • Distant Worlds - Final Fantasy A MUST SEE!

by Kfink on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

What a beautiful show! Most orchestra shows I have been to see have always been very rigid and intimidating. This show had such a homey feeling. Gathering a massive group of people all with a love of the Final Fantasy series growing up was truly remarkable. Fans of all ages and backgrounds. The show had fun twists and even had the audience sing a long with a song. Nobuo made a guest appearance and we got to see him perform on the piano which was incredible. Not to mention our seats were amazing! All in all a definite MUST SEE for a true FF lover. Would love to see it again.

If you are a die-hard FF fan, this is something you must see in your lifetime. The orchestra is everything you would expect, matching the game's soundtracks perfectly but with a little extra flair that comes from performing pieces live. The show was funny at times, sad at others, and full of nostalgia. It was a treat to see and hear the original singers of some of the well known vocal pieces and even more delightful to know that their voices are just as amazing live as they are in the game (no auto-tuning here folks!).

Awesome event! The music was nostalgic! It was surreal seeing Nobuo live in person. He is such a funny guy and he even sat in the audience for a little while!

  • Distant Worlds is great!!

by KatsuH on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Great performance, I wish Distant Worlds would perform more at various locations. One problem I saw was that they didn't being enough merchandise to sell, only about 1000 shirts, and about 10-100 albums depending on which soundtrack they were selling. They sold out before the first performance ended and didn't have restock or anything for the second performance.

  • The best!

  • Nostalgia, humor, memories and music

by Jbcyrus1 on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

This was absolutely worth the price. Such a unique experience. I will be going to this every time it comes around again. Fans new and old should come. Also people just intrested I good orchestra or a night out will enjoy this as well. Can't wait for future music and future generations Although to whom ever will be seeing this at nj pac I would recommend orchestra seats. I sat 3rd tier the show was amazing even from third tier, but future events I will definitly spend the extra money to sit up front.
