This September, dive deep under the sea with Encore Theatre Collective as they bring their spectacular production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid to the Bruce Mason Centre!
In a kingdom fathoms below, Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colourful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab to restore order in the ocean.
Based on the 1989 Academy Award winning film, The Little Mermaid features some of Disney’s most irresistible songs, including “Part Of Your World”, “Kiss The Girl”, and “Poor Unfortunate Souls”.

The show was great! It followed the movie perfectly. The characters could not have been better. Big props to the actors playing Sebastian and Ursula. They were terrific. The costumes and set design was great! I truly enjoyed the show and had a lot of fun.
I absolutely loved The Little Mermaid. Great cast and would see it again.
Absolutely AMAZING show! The cast was phenominal!!
Good show. The underwater scenes were creatively portrayed. Fun for both adults and kids.
The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie of all time. I wasn't sure the live version could live up to my expectation but, it did! Thay Floyd as Sebastian was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! The show was just as magical as it was to me 20 years ago. This show is an absolutely fantastic, fun, nostalgic night out. GO SEE IT!
Beautiful set that created a truly magical feel for being undersea with the merfolk. Loved the original scores & fantastic voices! The sound was perfect even in the balcony. Well balanced between instruments & voices. Well done all! Loved the fact that Sebastian & Ursula both received huge applause from the audience. We loved the good & the bad of Disney's offerings! Thanks again for making such wonderful quality theater available to the DFW metroplex. My grandchildren & I have precious memories of this event.
I took a 7 & 9yr old to the show. We all loved it.
I loved the show! The little mermaid was the first performance that I had seen at music hall. The cast and production of the show was phenomenal! Although the show time I chose was the last Saturday of the tour and the traffic was horrible. The audience was very noisy but that is expected with that many children. I will be attending another show soon!
The musical was amazing!!! I would definitely recommend to others. The parking situation on the other hand was awful - only one exit!
The little mermaid was awesome. The singing, dancing, and acting was great! I loved how the mermaids swam in from the top!
This was an unforgettable experience, it was my first time going to a musical and I loved it. This made me decide that not all musicals are bad and I plan on going to more. The actors were outstanding, and the effects that they brought to the stage were just magnificent.
Everything about the performance was incredible. Their voices were beautiful and the swimming feature really added to the presentation.
We absolutely loved Disney's The Little Mermaid Musical! My 5 year old was captivated and loved the entire show. Very impressive talent, stage decorations, and script. I highly recommend this show to adults and children alike!
This show was great! The cast was expressive and acting was excellent! The lady that played Ariel had an amazing voice (even better than Ariel in the movie).
I grew up with the Little Mermaid. It is one of the first movies I remember seeing in a theater. They ruined this story with the musical. I am baffled as to why they could not stick to the storyline of the movie. I have seen Lion King, Newsies, and Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, and all were substantially similar to the movies. The family drama added in to Little Mermaid -- between Ursula singing about murdering her siblings and Ariel yelling "I hate him" about her dad (repeatedly) -- are inappropriate for children. This is not Rent, Wicked, Chicago, etc. that parents should have to second-guess taking their young children to; the little girls in front of and behind me were frightened, kept asking where Ariel was (they had no idea the dress was supposed to represent a fin), why the story was different, and upon intermission, immediately asked what "I hate you" means. The odd relationship they created between Flounder and Ariel was just that - odd. I would never pay to see this one again, which is out of the ordinary for me. I have seen most shows at least twice, traveled to Broadway for many, etc. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is for the performers; the actresses who played Ariel and Ursula were very talented. Overall though, the story was ruined and I would not recommend this to anyone.
The performance was amazing; we all enjoyed it especially our 5 yr. old grandaughter!! The music and staging was unbelievable; can't wait to see it again.
Stage was incredible. Singing was the best. The way the actors swam was great.
Little Mermaid was wonderful! I saw it in 2007 in New York and loved it then but I think the new version is even better!
Wasn't sure how they would pull it off but it was impressive and the flying was seamless. Voices were also spot on. I was a season ticket holder for years but haven't been recently, the improved sound was great.
