THE LION KING premiered on Broadway in 1997 and has since become the third-longest-running musical on Broadway and the first to hit the $1 billion mark at the box office. The North American tour is an equally grand theatrical achievement, having welcomed over 20 million theatergoers in more than 80 cities.The six-time Tony Award-winning production features direction by Julie Taymor, music and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice, and choreography by Garth Fagan. For over two decades, the touring production’s visual tapestry has enchanted audiences across North America and continues to be a “must-see” live event, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

This is my second time seeing The Lion King, and the performance didn’t disappoint. Love the live animation via the realistic costumes. Enough cannot be said as to the actors and their ability to disappear right in front of your eyes as they bring the characters to life. The music is phenomenal and the performers…outstanding!
It was simply amazing!!!! Loved every minute of it, enjoyed the music. The tickets were expensive but the charges thru tick-master were even more, wish it would be a little cheaper so it was possible to enjoy more shows
We didn’t have any expectations for the lion King. However, we were blown away with everything! The music was the pinnacle then the clothing, then the acting then the storyline. What was true exceptional and the best part was the opening of the show the female lead who played Rafiki Absolutely exceptional! We will definitely will see it again!
Great production and fantastic talent - especially from the children! Loved that no pictures or videos were allowed because there was no disruption and we loved it!
The best live musical I have ever seen and the most creative. I loved it and I am not one for superlatives.

I love the theater, but I was unsure how Lion King would be brought to life on stage. Needless to say, I was blown away with how incredible the stage sets and costumes brought the movie to life. The cast was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole show- start to finish!
Lion King was spectacular! I saw this musical on Broadway in NYC over a decade ago and was blown away. I was yet again in tears with all of the music and song. My 3 year old grandson was in pure awe. Seeing all of the characters mesmerized him. My favorite of all time. Brilliant performances and the dances, whew. Will be going again next chance I get.
Lion King never disappoints. It is wonderful. The imagineers who designed all the puppets were absolute geniuses
