Vintage (ie: old) Disney show
by MyraL on 10/22/13Oracle Arena - OaklandRating: 2 out of 5If you're looking to watch a Disney show with older characters, this may be your cup of tea. I didn't think the whole show would have all new Disney characters, but I was hoping for a few more recent ones than lilo and stitch (which was from over 10 years ago).
The show had the mickey mouse clubhouse characters, little mermaid, lion king, lilo and stitch and peter pan. There may have been a few others, but those are the majority. The lilo and stitch and peter pan segments were by far the longest. I don't know if it was because these were the movies with characters who had an easier time skating, but to me, it was a bit boring, and my 3 year old son got bored with them also.
I wish the mmc characters would've skated around for longer than 10 mins, but I guess the show creators didn't think that would be fun for the audience. I know for my son, he would've enjoyed seeing mickey and his characters more than peter pan and the extended lilo and stitch segment. I also wish they would've had characters from toy story or cars; though I can imagine having cars skating around would've been difficult. Rapunzel and any other princesses would've been nice too, but there were none! I felt bad for the kids who were dressed up as princesses or as toy story characters and didn't get to see them at all.
Disney/Ticketmaster needs to give a better description of this show, so parents can decide if they want to go. In the future, if there is no description, I don't think my family will attend.
Also - as with anything related to Disney, parking was ridiculous. $35! and Popcorn was $13! highway robbery.
I am disappointed in the show and also disappointed in the cost of all the extras (though I really shouldn't be surprised).
If you want to take your kids to a show with 'vintage' (and not in a good way) characters, this is the show for you.
