    DP Rocked

by benjaminbachman on 9/13/10Trocadero - Philadelphia

Show was awesome.... these guys are jammed packed with talent. I had never experienced there music before... so my brother was like, this is going to be an awesome treat for you. And he was right! I was blown away. There talent is just over the top amazing. As for the venue, I have been a live sound engineer for a couple years now and it didn't seem like the system could handle the room. There were a lot of production struggles thru the night. But over all it was ok.

    Great Sound!

    by Chris23nyc on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

So intricate, so complex; they really showed what New York music is about. The acoustics were great and the sound unbelievable. GO SEE THEM. And Owen Pallett blew my mind.

The best show I've ever seen.

by CityBorealis on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

Dirty Projectors has been my favorite band for a very long time. When their album "Bitte Orca" came out, I was blow away at their musical prowess. I thought they had a very original sound with underlying folk emphasis. When I got to the show on Saturday, I found that they are in fact a rock band. I have never seen a group so perfect onstage. I saw and hear absolutely no flaws in their performance. They are energetic and have beautiful timing. I would see them again and again.

    Great opener, great finish---great venue!

by musicaldeviant on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome Owen Pallett is. I really enjoyed the setup he provided to Dirty Projectors. I will definitely check out his music after this. Dirty Projectors were really fun. Good mix of old stuff with stuff off of Bitte Orca. And frankly, I love Terminal 5...just a great venue on the whole. Definitely worth catching!

    Unbeleivably amazing

by KBRUNK on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

The Dirty Projectors blew my mind away with their amazing show Saturday night. The level of talent on stage is matched by very few people. The execution of David's songs were impeccable. And how can you not love the three sirens yodeling?

    dirty projectors are great

    by becky18 on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

The band was incredible. Good opener as well. The women singers create a wall of sound with their voices like I've never heard before in concert. The male lead is just like how he is on the record. Overall enjoyable show. The venue Terminal Five is also very comfortable, nice, and easy to be in. The sound wasn't stellar, though.

    mind was blown

by girlwithboots on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

The Dirty Projectors were more than what one could hear on their albums. Not a note was missed, not a voice cracked. Each member had their own specific stage presence, and the energy was electrifying. Owen Pallett was an unexpectedly amazing opening act. With just two members of his band, he created a genre all his own with looping pedals and inventive ways of playing the violin.

The band sounded terrific, but the audience was very talkative and loud.

    Excellent show

by fanoftheliving on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

I thought this was just a great show. You do have to be "musically adventurous" to appreciate this band, it certainly is not easy listening. DP go for some very complex stuff, and they generally pull it off. The only band that I can kind of relate them to is "Captain Beefheart", but only in the spirit of the adventurousness of their music. There is definitely a "punk" element to this band, think "Sonic Youth". I would say that this is sort of a "Punk Progressive" band. There rough edges to them, it's certainly not a classical music concert. I think I had a grin on my face the entire time. I was about 7 rows in from the band and got to experience it up close. Great. Would go see them again in a minute.

    Seeing into the future.

by MMcVicar on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

I felt like I was watching a bit of music history unfold before me as I was ensnared by the sounds of Dirty Projector at Terminal 5 in NYC this past weekend. The forcefully declared that they are not slaves to genres, melodies, or rehashed sound. Ever innovative but catchy, each song blew my mind, as the set list was perfectly arranged with an astounding variety. This band is on the forefront of what music can be if we dare to break away from standard chord progressions and song structure. At times they seemed to break the rules for the sake of doing so, but they grounded this with masterful musicianship and three and four part harmonies. I will never forget this show, and I will be seeing them as much as possible from here on out.

    Standing Ovation!

by BoBegan on 9/13/10Terminal 5 - New York

Owen was absolutely amazing. I have never seen such talents and innovative sound from one single individual. It was fresh, new and sensational. Dirty Projectors were show stoppers, to say the least. I would see them 35 more times at the same venue. LOVED EVERY MINUTE.

See the dirty projectors. It is a great time. There are alot of hipsters and plaid button downs sadly. For an indie show everyone is dressed ironically the exact same. The people in the band do not dress like hipsters, so that's nice. The dirty projectors are fantastic live. The opener was interesting. Terminal 5 is a place to go over and over again.

    Dirty profectors

by Anonymous on 9/11/10Trocadero - Philadelphia

It was amazing to see them perform perfectly. One would think they wouldn't be able to pull their songs off live but those people are wrong. They were just great.

    Very GooD!!!

by cborom on 9/10/10Trocadero - Philadelphia

They were so good! this is my second time seeing them live. I would definitely say that they do better on a smaller stage though. I saw them at Lollapalooza less than a month ago and the stage was huge causing them to all be spread out. I enjoyed seeing them at Trocadero about 10 times more.because they were closer together and could interact with each other better. Sooooo much fun and I would give it 5 stars except that the middle of their performance lagged a little bit but that is my ONLY complaint!
