About

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and more.

  • Best Show EVER!

by Stephanie on 10/17/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - HonoluluRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been blessed to attend a ton of concerts in my life and I can say that this one was one of the best of all. I’ve been listening to Atmosphere for 23 years. This was the second time they came to Hawaii. Excellent performance. Slug crushed it! I took all of my kids who were also rapping the lyrics. The Dirty Heads didn’t disappoint either. They played all most of their greatest songs. The sound and lighting was epic. Go to this show! 10/10

  • Freaking amazing

by Jay and Melissa on 10/17/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - HonoluluRating: 5 out of 5

We specifically went to Hawaii to see them. Saw them in Irvine and at reggae rise up. And the Hawaii venue and the performance was outstanding. Love them

  • Disappointed ☹️

by 808V on 10/17/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - HonoluluRating: 3 out of 5

The Dirty Heads show was too short. Felt rushed. Too much time for the cover bands. Also, beer ran dry at the opening of Dirty Heads first song. What’s up with that??? Two hours left of the show and no more beer???? Very poor planning on the Shell’s vendors.

  • Love these guys!

One of my favorite bands ever. I have seen them 3 times now and they never disappoint. Great show always!

  • Excellent show…sounded great!

    by S. N. on 9/27/23Rating: 5 out of 5

We saw him last Saturday at five points amphitheater in Irvine! Absolutely great show we brought our kids all four of us had an amazing time. It was a great set easy in and out. We really Doug lovely the band that opened for them, as well as Eddie Zuko!! All in all, we had an excellent experience even paying $19 for a tall can of Kona!!

  • When you hope they play their good songs but don't...

by JC on 8/29/23Rating: 2 out of 5

We hoped to hear their alternative/reggae beachy music that we've heard from them over the years, but it sounded like they just wanted to be white rappers. Kept waiting to hear their good songs but just lost interest and left early. Disappointing. The opening act was also pretty lost between genres and still not sure what they were trying to sound like...

  • Dirty Heads were Amazing

by Jeremy on 8/8/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Dirty Heads was one of my favorite artists I've ever seen live! I was super stoked to see them and was impressed by their live show. 5 out of 5 stars for sure. However, I was more than a little disappointed that Little Stranger didn't open for Dirty Heads as the listing promised when purchasing my tickets originally for the event. I also thoroughly enjoyed Bikini Trill. They did a great job warming up the crowd. But it would have been so much better to see Little Stranger instead of Lupe Fiasco. Lupe Fiasco was ok, but not up to par with the status of Dirty Heads.

  • Awesome!!!

5th time seeing Dirty Heads. I’m such a big fan! The Coca Cola Roxy was a nice venue. I loved that it was too big and had some GA seats available. The show was sounded good and they hit all of their bangers. 10/10 will see again.
