About

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and more.

  • The Wailers Rocked!

    by Fhubb85 on 7/1/13Pennysaver Amphitheater - FarmingvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I had not seen the Wailers before so I thought it would be a good idea to see them at an outdoor venue. Great choice! They played many of the hits they made with Bob back in the day. I had not heard of The Dirty Heads but they were good as well. The entire event was a good time. We plan to attend the event next year as well!

Great time but water should be free for the non beer drinkers or the dehydrated drunks.

This is my second time in a row going to Beer Fields NY and this year was a much improved compared to last year. They finally had bands playing during the beer tasting which is nice. Pretty good selection of beers. Nice small stage in the main tasting area. Awesome crowd as always.

Second time seeing them and was not sure I would enjoy it as much as the first and I've seen many concerts; I got to say I love this bands vibe and it shows they are passionate about their music and I dig that, can't wait to see them in a bigger venue like an amplitheter!!

by Allenn94 on 6/27/13House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

It was my first show, and I will never forget it. They knew how to rock a show and each band sounded ten times better than the album. I met each member of each band and they were all the most chill people I've ever met. I'll be going to their show next time they're in town, and the next time, and the next time.

  • Dirty Heads....KILLED IT at the House of Blues!!!!

by nagy178 on 6/27/13House of Blues Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

SOLD OUT on a Tuesday night says it all! The show was amazing! Big B's set was great as an opener. Expendables were good, but The Dirty Heads is where it was at. Sound quality was great. It was balanced right musically and the vocals were perfectly blended. They played non-stop for a long time. They opened up tempo and hard with Smoke Rings off the new album. Dirty J had a lot of energy and then when it was time for Duddy B's vocal on the song he walked out from the side stage killing it with a cool swagger. They continued on with a few more from Cabin By The Sea. Then they broke into a set of classics from there previous albums (Drifting, Believe, etc.). There was a couple jamming instrumentals followed by more Cabin By The Sea. The crowd was jacked and singing along to every song. They encore was perfect and they were truely enjoying performing for Orlando. I will see them every-time they are close to my area. I would even make a couple hour drive to see them again. Don't think about it....JUST GO SEE THEM!

The Dirty Heads continue to impress with their new material and live shows. Although a few songs I wanted to hear were missing, the set list was well balanced between the newer songs and old favorites. The choice of opening acts helped keep an overall high energy feel to the night and exposed me to new bands I may not have found on my own. I would definitely recommend seeing any of these bands! ! !

  • An amazing show by the Dirty Heads

by MikeSamson on 4/25/13House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

As usual The Dirty Heads put on an unforgettable show, mixing there hip hop and reggae beats. If your not into the GA floor, I recommend purchasing one of the HOB Chicago balconies to add to the experience. Thank you DH and congrats on gold!!!

  • Shiny Dirty Fun

    by DOMB69 on 4/20/13The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

Shiny Toy guns killed it ... apparently both singers had the flu and still crushed it! Loved them @ the National in VA .... Dirty Heads were impeccable ... and rook time after the show to sign and mingle with us pleebs :) Could be coolest combo for a concert ever.
