About

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No.1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and will head out on the headlining Island Glow Tour in 2023.

    Good Show

    by jammom1 on 4/15/11Crocodile Rock - Allentown

I really enjoy seeing shows in smaller venues, but the sound system was off at the Croc that night. While we could really hear the instruments clearly, the vocals were really distorted. We could see the singers getting frustrated with the sound. Over all good time!

    HELL YES

by ezzbeedee on 4/14/11Crocodile Rock - Allentown

The venue is sick and the Dirty Heads are AMAZING. Ballyhoo! and New Politics brought the house down too. I can't wait to see them all again.

New Politics and Ballyhoo kicked it!

by cwpost on 4/13/11The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

3rd time seeing the Dirty Heads, first time for Echo Movement (very cool, like the chill sound), Ballyhoo! (AWESOME!) and the New Politics (So much energy, rocked the house!). So, all in all I think the opening acts were very good and Dirty Heads had a lot to do to keep up with them. The Dirty Heads didn't disappoint, just ready for some new stuff from them, like I said, it was the 3rd time for me, and well, same old same old, with very few twists.

The Dirty Heads (Northern Lights- Clifton Park)

by Boostud on 4/10/11Northern Lights - Clifton Park

Amazing show. I have loved The Dirty Heads and New Politics for a while now so it was a no brainer to come see them. Ballyhoo was a surprise to me. I was unaware they were playing until I arrived. I must say that BALLYHOO completely rocked it! They are an awesome band and fit perfectly with this tour. Everyone should pick up a copy of their cd and make time to listen to them.

by dms5378 on 3/28/11The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

This was my first time seeing the Dirty Heads. They had lots of energy and made the show a lot of fun. I will definitely go see them the next time they come around. The Stony Pony is also a great venue to catch a show. Real small and intimate.

    Amazing LIVE!!

by Gouldrush on 3/28/11Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

Saw them at the Altar Bar in the Strip District of Pittsburgh. Small place for such a band I would say and it was completely packed. I will guess a bigger venue for them next time they come through town. The band was great though and played all of their best songs and even had a great extended version of Stand Tall where they even had a few guys come up to sings the buenos noches part in the middle (if they could!!!). Very entertaining!!! They played all of my favorites and 2 new songs that are coming out soon on their next album. It was a great night altogether!!!

    Dirty Heads Rocked My World!

    by JamesDeane84 on 3/24/11Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

One of the BEST shows I have ever been fortunate enough to see!!! Great venue, fairly small place but no bad seat in the place! We stood on the upper level looking down on the show...AMAZING! I once snuck on a VIP stage at Ozzfest and the seats still did not compare to where I saw the Dirty Heads!

    Awesomeness

    by Cls72 on 3/24/11Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

I can only describe this show as awesomeness, topped with awesomeness, served with a side of awesomeness. The Dirty Heads are a great band to see live. This is the 2nd time that I've been to one of their shows and they have been amazing both times. I will see them any time that they are in the area.

    Incredible Live Act!!

    by DirtyHead420 on 3/16/11Riviera Theathre/Charter One Pavillion/ The intersection - Chicago/Grand Rapids

Me and my girlfriend discovered The Dirty Heads last summer @ a Sublime w/Rome concert in Chicago, Ever since we've been following them to any venue we can make it to! They put on an amazing show, and its just as god evertime we go. We were fortunate enough to meet them @ the last show, we saw them @The Intersection in Grand Rapid, Talked to, got autographs and pictures of and with them, they were both very down to earth and seemed to love and appreciate thier fans as much as the fans love them. Was even Lucky enough to Burn one with Dutty next to the tour bus and chat w/him for a while. Uploaded some pictures! Id recommend seeing them, over and over again! Going to see them Friday @ St Andrews Hall, Monday @ House Of Blues Clevleland, And hopefully Allentown,PA next mo!

    LEGITTTTTT as hell

by LaurenCamille on 10/27/10Firestone Live - Orlando

Dirty Heads had to be one of the best shows I've gone to in a while. The way they interact with the audience was amazing. Not to mention the opening acts, Horizen and Whole Wheat Bread, kicked ass. I'm already searching for the next Dirty Heads concert. :)
