About

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and more.

  • Fun and awesome!

by Cisco51 on 8/13/14Vina Robles Amphitheatre - Paso RoblesRating: 4 out of 5

With a full moon night over Vino Robles and two rockin' bands, the place was jumping! A great night! Pepper outdid themselves and Dirty Heads took it home!

  • UNFORGETTABLE!!!

by OCZO on 8/12/14Mandalay Bay Beach - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I'm glad we purchased our tickets well in advance because from what they were saying, this concert was SOLD OUT! Pepper killed it on stage as the opening band! They knew exactly how to get the concert started! Dirty Heads left us SPEECHLESS! There are no words to really say how AMAZING this experience was. Location was on point! We didn't want the concert to be over, it was that AWESOME! If Pepper and the Dirty Heads were playing the next day I would definitely purchase tickets again just to experience it again. Definitely will be seeing both bands again!!

  • Dirty Heads Rocked It!!

Dirty Heads were amazing!! Visually and audibly they hit it out of the park. The set list was awesome, and catered to both new fans and old. I can't wait to see them again.

  • Great concert!

The dirty heads sound so amazing live and their energy kept the crowd going until the last song was over. Mandalay Beach was a great venue to see them in, outside in the warm weather, standing in the water.... perfect.

  • AMAZING!!!

by devanBREE on 8/12/14Mandalay Bay Beach - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I have never been to a show ware there were so many people yet it still felt like a smaller show. Free standing and we were right in front these guys are absolutely amazing in person.and plan on seeing them again ASAP!!!

The bands were amazing and the energy was great my only complaint was the venu, the beer garden being so far removed from the show was a let down and the parking was pretty difficult, but The Dirty heads were amazing, first time seeing them, Pepper I've seen 5 times and this was my favorite performance yet! Loved being introduced to Aer

  • Most epic concert of all eternity

meeting the band was unforgettable. The Dirty Heads are sooooo cool! Acoustics in Rimac are bad though! Could hardly hear Duddy B and kept hearing an echo from the other side :(

  • Amazing!!!

by Anonymous on 8/12/14RIMAC Arena - UCSD - La JollaRating: 5 out of 5

The Dirty Heads and Pepper were amazing. Best concert I have been to. The opening act, Aer, was terrible. We should have shown up late just do we didn't have to listen to that crap. One of the singers seemed like he was on speed, he was all over the place. Once Aer finally got off stage, the concert was great. Both The Dirty Heads and Pepper know how to put on an amazing show!

  • Music was amazing, venue was a bit disappointing

by TheBurd on 8/12/14RIMAC Arena - UCSD - La JollaRating: 4 out of 5

The music was incredible! I have seen Pepper quite a few times over the years, but this was my first time seeing The Dirty Heads. Both bands blew it out of the water! My only issue, was the venue. I loved the area and the venue itself, but wasn't too happy with some of the staff (very rude at certain points) and I had no idea there would be so many young people!

  • Great show, needs a better venue

by Rizaoc on 8/12/14RIMAC Arena - UCSD - La JollaRating: 3 out of 5

The bands were awesome, like always, but the venue could have been better.

The bass was too loud and stage should have been higher. Overall good show!

  • Great bands bad venue

by stankdaddy on 8/12/14RIMAC Arena - UCSD - La JollaRating: 1 out of 5

Both bands are amazing! The venue and its sound system SUCK! Pepper is one of the best bands around but the set the played.... I could hardly tell what song they were doing. It seemed like Pepper was just blazing through there set. I will definitely see both bands again but not at rimac.

  • Dirty Heads and Aer were so awesome!

    by Penney2345 on 8/12/14RIMAC Arena - UCSD - La JollaRating: 4 out of 5

The show up until Pepper was so great! The crowd added to the show even more. The only bumming thing was the venue. It took 20 minutes for everyone to find the arena, and the acoustics in it were terrible.

  • Band was great - everything else sucked

We purchased the VIP meet and greet package for this show. When we arrived at the required time for the VIP event, we were herded into a corral and made to stand there in the sun for over an hour. Countless times, the security team came over and just badgered us about stuff; "Is this the dividing line?", "Are you two a couple?", etc. Really, what does it matter? We were then guided down some stairs and herded yet again against a wall. One by one we were allowed into the room with the band for a brief hello and picture (about 45 seconds). The band was great...very welcoming and funny. We were then herded outside again and made to stand in yet another corral. When they decided to let us in, they let the General Admission folks in at the same time. The VIP package was supposed to have refreshments, private opportunity to purchase merchandise, and the ability to get our seats prior to General Admission opening up. Then, during the show, the sound crew didn't notice that the guitar wasn't playing through the PA system, just the monitors on stage. The band didn't know they couldn't be heard since they could hear everything just fine. However, the entire show was performed without the crowd being able to hear the guitar. There was a "beer garden" outside the venue. You could only consume alcoholic beverages in the "beer garden". However, the garden was only an open, sun-baked field where you could go and very uncomfortably drink a beer. I guess it is what is is...just probably could have been better. None of this is the band's fault. They were great as always. The venue and production were terrible. If there was a way to get our money back, I would certainly pursue it.

  • Love me some Dirty Heads

    by ZombieGirl2 on 8/12/14South Side Ballroom - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The show was awesome! The only thing that I was disappointed in was the Dirty Heads did not headline? Pepper was good, but I was there to see the Dirty Heads.

Amazing! Best show I've seen all summer. Great venue!

  • Unforgettable

by WhiteWidow on 8/11/14Mandalay Bay Beach - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Dirty Heads always put on one hell of a show. This was no exception. Their new album (Sound of Change) is different but so amazing!! Medusa live is sick!!! Met the guys before the show and they are such said laid back and chill dudes . Dirty J and Duddy B are funny as hell. I will always go to their shows wherever I live at. Someday ill see them perform on beach though. :)

Sooooo awesome. Couldn't possibly be a better venue for these two bands.
