About

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No.1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and will head out on the headlining Island Glow Tour in 2023.

Atmosphere killed it. Dirty heads fell short.

by Sunshine on 10/21/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

Atmosphere opened the show and killed it. Dirtyheads really fell short of what I expected. It was like I was at a drunk-filled party where everyone was wasted and the singer sang off key most of the time while walking onstsge shirtless. The brass section was the most talented and the whole show. Atmosphere was lit. Dirty heads was mediocre at best. One-and-done kine.

    Atmosphere good. Dirty Heads bad.

by Mike on 10/19/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

Title says it all… Atmosphere did what they do every time and brought the house down. This was my first time seeing dirty heads live and I hope it will be the last. The lead singer could not hit his notes. Not even close. Couldn’t take it any longer so we left early. Venue ran out of beer at 8PM also so that was another big fail. Also, something must have been wrong with the sound system because the show sounded awful in the expensive seats but sounded pretty good back on the lawn. So glad I paid extra for good seats.

    Great venue, great show!

by Zoog1978 on 10/18/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

We were in Waikiki for vacation and happened to be here for this show. The venue is small making for a close up experience. Super reasonably priced Ad well. Dirty Heads played all the classics, Vacation, Oxygen, even Sloths Revenge. Great experience!

    Best Show EVER!

by Stephanie on 10/17/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

I’ve been blessed to attend a ton of concerts in my life and I can say that this one was one of the best of all. I’ve been listening to Atmosphere for 23 years. This was the second time they came to Hawaii. Excellent performance. Slug crushed it! I took all of my kids who were also rapping the lyrics. The Dirty Heads didn’t disappoint either. They played all most of their greatest songs. The sound and lighting was epic. Go to this show! 10/10

We specifically went to Hawaii to see them. Saw them in Irvine and at reggae rise up. And the Hawaii venue and the performance was outstanding. Love them

    Disappointed ☹️

by 808V on 10/17/23Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell - Honolulu

The Dirty Heads show was too short. Felt rushed. Too much time for the cover bands. Also, beer ran dry at the opening of Dirty Heads first song. What’s up with that??? Two hours left of the show and no more beer???? Very poor planning on the Shell’s vendors.
