The presentation of Dirty Dancing was wonderful. The dancing and singing could not have been better. The energy exhibited in the dance routines had the audience swinging with the dancers. The leg extensions were amazing. It was as if they were doing the splits standing up. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
From the very start of the play i was stuck in my seat and it only got better it was truly the best production i have seen . i would see it again
Followed the movie exactly. Loved the sets and the way they did the water scenes. Excellent acting.
I took my sister and a friend and we thoughly enjoyed Dirty Dancing. We knew the movie by heart...and they did a great job in following the movie. The dancing was superb...and the characters fit our expectations after knowing the movie so well. Truely enjoyable...purchased the CD...and listen to it all the time...it makes me smile! Thanks for a great evening!
This "musical" is great, if you are a fan of the movie. It is exactly like the movie. No new songs were added, none of the lead roles sang, very mediocre for an upcoming Broadway show, if it even makes it to Broadway. I must say though, the scenery was fantastic, as well as the set. It is more like a play, rather than a musical. I would spend my money on another show.
The play was absolutely fabulous. The acting and dancing could not have been better. I danced for 20 years and watching this was so amazing. What talent the performers have. They can be very proud of their performance. Completely a crowd pleaser.
The stage production made me feel like I was apart of the show...It was better than the movie. Everything was wonderful - - the dancing, the music and the numerous sets. It's a must see!
loved loved loved this show!!!!! i really think they protrayed the film very well, especially the "lift" water scene!!!! hahah could of done with some more of the music but overall you really gotta go see it!
It was extremely exciting. It made the movie come to life in an extrodinary way .Even though it had a little cornyness I still enjoyed it. It had subtle comedy that made it all that more fun to watch.

I would have not seen it if my friend told me he wanted to see it. I only watched parts of Dirty Dancing whenever they played the movie on TV a long time ago and never saw the movie whole. So decided to surprise him for his bday with ticktets. It was better than i expected it to be. The singers were awesome and sound like the original. Very professionally done. I had good seats too...balcony center. I think center view is the best but all seats look ok to watch from since theater was packed. The pantages theatre has a nice old theater feeling. parking was 10$ across the street.
One of my favorite plays I've seen, and I've seen a lot. I took my mom for Mother's day & we were smiling for 3 days after we saw the play.
It was a really good show, I would defintely watch it again.
Just exactly like movie - too much so - no freshness. Altho music ok, was dull and way too predictable - couldn't wait for it to be over. While 'Baby' was an almost exact Jennifer Grey clone, lead actor Johnnys obvious attempts to hide his Aussie accent was unnerving and detracted. I could've rented the dvd for the same music / dance with actors I love...
I'd already seen GREASE and walked away thoroghly loving it. All of it. The way the music was preformed by the actors and actresses, the sets. I expected the same of Dirty Dancing. Something was missing in Dirty Dancing. Maybe it was Patrick Swayze.
Dirty Dancing was extremely well done. The staging was phenomenal the way the cast moved things around and changed sets so effortlessly. No one will replace Patrick Swayze, but the actor doing that part was good. The whole cast did a great job-! I would see it a second time. The only negative was our seats were in the back row of the Orchestra.
Dirty Dancing was fantastic!! I loved it so much, I saw it three times, and brought guests to see it. It was so entertaining, and just so much fun....the dancing, music, acting, singing, and everything about it. The audiences went wild! Had someone given me free tickets to see it more times, I would have gone every night, I loved it that much. It brought me so much happiness! Thank you so much for bringing this play to us, and for the wonderful performers, main stars, and every dancer, each was so precious. It was nice also meeting a few of them after the play. This was an A +++++ performance, and I applaud everyone involved from production to performance!
The production was a more 'adult' telling of the story than the movie. The choreography was well done and the comedic moments were spot on. However, the production suffers from one major flaw - the casting of the male lead. While he's easy on the eyes and an exceptional dancer, he struggled with masking his foreign accent and the result was a wooden quality that he never overcomes.
I have been attending live theater for years, and I felt Dirty Dancing was one of the best musicals I've seen. I was tempted to get up in the aisles and dance along with the cast numerous times.
