The storyline was great...I wish the characters would've been life size instead of puppets with the people behind them. My youngest seem to not care but my older son (7yrs old) didn't like it because of that. The songs were good and the ending was very nice.

Rating: 2 out of 5by Anonymous on 11/13/13Star Plaza Theatre - Merrillville Rating: 4 out of 5 Dino Train Live
by Raquel1234 on 11/13/13Star Plaza Theatre - MerrillvilleI thought the first half was a little slow. Too many humans and not enough dinos! I thought the second half was much more interesting when "King" dino appeared. My 3 year old had a great time and his post show comment was, "that was super fun!"
Rating: 2 out of 5 Different than expected
by Dinozee on 11/13/13Star Plaza Theatre - MerrillvilleSo the characters were puppets with people controlling them from behind which was very distracting. The actors used a lot of facial expressions so I kept watching them. Also it was way too loud and hurt my ears and many of the kids around we're plugging their ears. I expected just characters not actors I would have preferred the people to be in all black including face. It was ok

Rating: 3 out of 5 Kids enjoyed it!
by Jmb420 on 11/9/13Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleMy three year old loved it, he ended up dancing around at the end. But we also brought my friends kid and she is three she enjoyed it too but we had questions about it. Where was the dad dinosaur, Where was the blue dinosaur shiny? Without them especially with out shiny the whole thing didn't seem right. I was also expecting a little better performance for how much I paid but overall it was good. I love dinosaur train and thought this was average, & I've seen a lot of musical/ plays/ performances in my day. I think it would have been a lot better with the whole family, or at least all the kids.
Rating: 1 out of 5 This is was a huge disappointment
by Jennas31 on 11/8/13Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleThe kids were boreded and one even fell asleep. Not what I expeceted at all. The people behind the puppets were very distracting. Sound was terrible so you could not understand the words. Would not recommend at all!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Great for a 3 year old
by Juliekiel on 11/8/13Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleI am glad I took my son to this production because he really did enjoy it. The entire production was almost 1.5 hrs but with a 15 minute (at least) intermission. The dinosaurs are puppets rather than people in suits which was impressive as the puppeteers were very good but I thought it was a bit distracting. I don't think my son even noticed it though. Overall, I would go again but I (as an adult) was not wowed by the performance.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Family Fun
by RocketCity1987 on 11/8/13Von Braun Center Concert Hall - HuntsvilleIt was a great show for the whole family. Lots of fun with audience participation included. Didn't expect the puppeteers like they were, but it worked in the end. The kids loved it.

Rating: 3 out of 5 Dinosaur Train Live
by Dinosaurlovers on 10/30/13Bergen Performing Arts Center - EnglewoodThe show was quite good, the puppets are beautiful, and the story was nice and age appropriate for our 2/12 and 3 years old toddlers. What I didn't like in the live show is the same thing I don't like in the tv show. There aren't enough characters to make it feel real. Only 5 dinosaurs participate in this show. I was expecting it to be more full and reach of different kinds of dinosaurs. The show is short, all though fun for the kids. We paid $49 per ticket, and I don't think this show worth this amount. Also, we sat close to the stage near the speakers, and the sound was way too loud.
Rating: 4 out of 5 enjoyable
by ruga1414 on 10/30/13Bergen Performing Arts Center - EnglewoodThis is obviously for children, so I don't think a 15 minute intermission is necessary, when the whole show is an hour. It's very hard to get the kids settled in, and then have to do it all over again for an intermission. I didn't understand why the puppet masters were dressed in black, since the scenery is very colorful, so black stuck out. I would think the people attached to the puppets should wear the same color as the puppet, but that's just me. It was slightly disappointing that the scenery never changed.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Cute! The puppeteers were amazing.
by KBTDancer on 10/23/13F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreThe dinosaurs were very lifelike, despite the fact that the audience could see the faces of the puppeteers. It seemed that the show was aimed at slightly older children. My 3 yr. old grandson got bored with the songs. The storyline wasn't sufficient to keep his interest.
Rating: 1 out of 5 Glorified puppet show
by Lucy214 on 10/21/13Hanover Theatre - WorcesterThis was a waste of $80 for 2 tickets. These were not actors in costumes. It was people dressed in black with full size puppets strapped to their bodies, making them move to a prerecorded track. The best was the giant dinosaur at the end with a girl's upper body inside the dinosaur. My 3 year old looked at me and said "Mommy that girl's head is up the dinosaur's bum!" Save your money. Better yet, go see Sesame Street Live.
Rating: 4 out of 5by Mahjah on 10/20/13F. M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-Barre The Dinosaur Train Show was very cute and well done. I took my almost 4 year old and he had a smile on his face the entire show. He watches Dinosaur Train on PBS. The characters kept the young children very interested. There were even children dancing in the aisles.
