DIANA ROSS IN CONCERT:
As Billboard's "Female Entertainer of the Century," Diana Ross holds an unrivaled place among R&B's rich history of legendary divas. From her time leading the Supremes to her extraordinary solo career, Ross's supple voice, striking looks, and effortless style have made her a timeless icon, as charismatic today as she was in the '60s. Featuring her greatest hits, Motown-inspired backup singers, and all the costume changes you'd expect from a diva's diva, Ross's 2013 shows stunned, setting expectations sky high for her 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born and raised in Detroit, Ross rose to international superstardom in the '60s as leader of the Supremes, the group that became Motown Records' golden goose with an unprecedented ten No. 1 hits between the years 1964-1967. After fulfilling her contract with the group, Ross released her self-titled solo debut in 1970, earning her first Grammy nomination with soul classic "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Following the success of her first solo TV special Diana!, Ross once again topped the charts with 1973's "Touch Me in the Morning," going on to release a hugely successful duet album with Marvin Gaye later that year. In addition to her chart success, Ross established herself as a skilled actor with acclaimed appearances in classic '70s films including Mahogany and The Wiz. Over a career that spans more than half a century, Ross has released 27 Top 40 singles, earning a Guinness World Record as the most successful female artist of all time.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Diana is still the beautiful diva she's always been and stuns in her many sparkling costumes, singing all of the many, many favorites that have made her loved by so many."
"Her voice was wonderful. She was so professional and knew how to work a crowd. Great selection of songs. And her costume changes were fantastic."
"Still a Diva, glamorous, elegant, classy... It was a wonderful show. The crowd in New Orleans adored her, were on their feet almost the entire time, singing along and dancing to her hits -- all well-delivered."
I really enjoyed the show but it would have been even greater if the two side screens were working for people that weren’t on the main floor
Diana Ross was in her best form! Vocally strong! Stunning gowns! Interactive! Youthful! I look forward to seeing her for a 5th time in the near future! Diana, I’ll always be there for you!
Wisdom comes with age and so does mutual appreciation. Diana Ross could not possibly have performed any better. She was genuinely humble and took time to acknowledge her audience.
days of yesteryear! she looks amazing for 80!!!! everyone dancing in the aisles, at least the ones that could stand! LOL!!!!!!!1
Enjoyed this show very much. Diana did a marvelous job, so much energy! And her costumes were great! Sax player was marvelous..
She is the best Diana Ross. She look fantastic She sound great better than before. If she ever come to Connecticut again I will get better seats.. I enjoy myself with my best friend. She did too. Thank you for bring her to Connecticut.
MGM/Diana Ross should be ashamed of themselves. The big screens were not in use. I sat in the balcony and could not see her face. Her voice and choice of songs was great but would have enjoyed if I was seeing her up close. I have seen her many times and felt this show was missingthe show woman she is. Something. was missing and maybe being able to clearly she her up close. on the screens had something to do with it.
Dianna did such an amazing performance. Our seats were so good! Easy to get in and out. I only wish she performed longer!
We certainly enjoyed our evening with Diana Ross..Vocals on point. The set designs were more than outstanding, and very colorful. I throughly enjoy the memories..Ms Ross shows why she is an icon..I’m so glad I got to see her.
I had a magical journey down memory lane with all of the same energy I enjoyed growing up with my family singing along and dancing with Diana Ross. I missed her performance at Radio City Music Hall and I'm glad I planned a weekend at the Foxwoods Resort around her performance. The venue was ideal. I don't like massive crowds like Madison Square Garden, NYC. As Ms. Ross pointed out she could see her audience and she was able to interact with them. She even brought up a little girl dressed in a silver dress to sing and dance on stage with her. Ms. Ross looked elegant as always and she thanked her audience with a dynamic performance. She sang familiar songs and shared her latest album recorded during the pandemic. She is just a few months shy of her 80th birthday and I thank her for taking the time to be on the road for her fans. I wish Ms. Ross the Boss many more birthdays to come.
Diana Ross, the living legend, graced the stage at Foxwoods on Saturday, November 18th. The energy and music made for a night of memories and fun!
Full of energy performance! Looks great! Sounds the same as she always did. Amazing! Only problem is many of the fans are standing constantly blocking the views of the other fans that are unable to stand to watch the concert. There should be no standing up at these concerts! Just like on Broadway performances! And like in the past concerts! I was unable to view most of the concert!
Just shy of her 80th birthday and Diana Ross is going strong! She gave a great concert, full of her greatest hits. Her voice is as beautiful as ever! Such a privilege to see a living legend.
Diana and her accompanying musicians were fantastic!! What a great uplifting show!
Diana Ross, The Boss was absolutely amazing! Seventy-nine never looked or sounded so good! Best concert this year!
Had never seen Diana and really didn’t know what to expect . She was absolutely spectacular and I am so happy I went ! Great show from start to finish !
I haven't been to a better show with this amazing show by Dianna Ross
Unless I’m getting compensated, don’t ask…you’re wasting my time. Ps, I don’t need the money
She is amazing and I couldn't believe this woman sang like she was 20! Hey, I think I fell in love with an 80 year woman! Just great and glad I got to see her perform live!
Diana Ross NEVER disappoints! I’ve seen her probably 100 times or more over the past 40 years or so and she just gets better with age. She’ll be 80 in March and she continues to dazzle audiences everywhere she goes. Tonight at Foxwoods was no exception. Rock in, Diana!
