Denver Nuggets History
One of the founding teams of the American Basketball Association in 1967, the Denver Nuggets franchise was originally known as the Denver Rockets. They preemptively changed their name to the Nuggets before the 1974–75 season, anticipating a move to the NBA (where Houston’s team already had the name). In their nine ABA seasons, the Nuggets made the playoffs seven times — losing in the finals to the New York Nets in the league's final year.
They were one of four ABA teams annexed to the NBA in 1976 and immediately were one of the most successful teams, winning the Midwest Division two straight years behind future Hall of Famers David Thompson and Dan Issel. In 1980, the arrival of another future Hall of Famer, high-scoring forward Alex English, began a run of nine consecutive seasons in the playoffs. Coach Doug Moe's offensive-minded squads made it past the first round of the playoffs four times, falling three times in the conference semifinals and once in the conference finals, in 1985 to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The team had only one winning season in the 1990s, but it was a memorable one. After finishing 42-40 to sneak into the playoffs as the eighth seed in the 1993–94 season, they upset the top-seed Seattle Supersonics in the first round of the playoffs, thanks in no small part to center Dikembe Mutombo's heroics.
Led by 2003 first-round draft pick Carmelo Anthony, the Nuggets reversed their fortunes to post 10 straight winning seasons beginning with the 2003–04 season. The Nuggets won their first NBA championship in 2023, led by two-time league MVP and Finals MVP Nikola Jokić, who collected his third regular season MVP in 2024.

The venue replaced the venerable McNichols Sports Arena, which the Nuggets called home for more than two decades.

OneCourt devices use haptic technology, or trackable vibrations, to relay key events and spatial positioning of the ball so you can feel the game-play with your fingertips! As the ball moves, you will feel vibrations across the surface of the device moving beneath your fingers to replicate the ball position in real time. Our device also generates short Audio Bites so you can plug in headphones directly into the device and listen while you feel the gameplay.

Outstanding game and outstanding seats. Just an all around excellent experience and atmosphere.
Paid $360+ for each of my two tickets about a month or so before the game. Tickets the day of the game were ~$230 in my section. Large group of guys kept trying to sneak friends in our section and were being incredibly rowdy. Low bang for buck value.
About 65 percent nuggets fans which were louder than the 35 percent warrior fans and we won!
The Nuggets experience is great, especially during the playoffs. Ball arena needs some help however. Beer is plentiful, but it can be hard to buy a soda at an arena that used to be named after a major brand. And the food here is horrible.
I was kicked back with my lady and the crew having a blast watching the playoffs. 😏👉👉
Nuggets fans give it their all and most of the team gave it their all but the coach gives too much to will Barton his is not good he cost us the game and when the fans boo a shot it needs to be noticed by the coach. Also with the crowd 30% warrior fans we let them celebrate in our building when we should have and could have won if not for will Barton’s selfishness.
Energy was awesome but Nuggets dropped more tickets and reduced prices weeks after I bought presale tickets for the playoffs
Loved seeing the dancers out there more we need more of that. 2 dances per game not one!!! They are good for the crowd.
The game was awesome the people were amazing, best time ever.
I didn’ t know that both teams were not considering some important players in that game. I have paid to see some players bur they didn’t play in that match and it was not informed in advance. It was not a good game and didn't follow my expectation.
We took our grandson and a friend to the Lakers game. Great crew working the front door, concessions and clothing store. Thank you for helping us make memories in a positive environment!
Good night. Good evening. Hello Nuggets I loved the house
It doesn’t get any easier than this! Parking was very easy and inexpensive. Easy access to the arena. Easy to find the seats. If you have any questions they were people there to help. Great atmosphere.
Staff knows where everything is, we wasn’t lost/found our seats fast. Long lines at first I thought were disappointing but it actually went by so fast. Overall great community this arena has built👌🏻👌🏻
Everything went well, from the parking to the exiting of the event. All the workers were so helpful and made getting around so easy. The food was great. The only thing that could have made the experience better was a win from my Nuggets, but oh well.
We splurged and purchased tickets in the 1st bowl/tier this time (we usually sit in the 3rd tier). We were so excited because we thought we’d be involved in the “fan experience”…the t-shirt tossing, the Western Union drop (little parachute prizes), we thought we might even get to see Rocky up close. Unfortunately, none of this happened. There were very few t-shirts thrown out and no Western Union drop. Rocky and everything else seemed to be happening very little and only on one side of the arena (opposite side of us). The actual game was great…Go Nuggets!! We are due-hard fans. However, the extra money we spent this time did not seem worth it.
Ball Arena really sucks. Horrible, cramped seating.
too bad that the first game we attended in person this season was the worst that they played all season. The Vegas atmosphere wasn't our thing either. TOO LOUD AND TOO MUCH RAP MUSIC. We will just watch on Tv and remember the good old day with Alex English and the boys where you could hear the announcer.
The ticket prices were reasonable for sitting in the club area. It wasnt as crowded as other sections. The view was nice. The seats were comfortable. Even though the Nuggets lost, it was still a nice experience.
