This show was great. I like the venue and Demetri was a lot of fun!
Love Demetri Fun to be a part of his “working it out” A bit of a slow start and then he really found a groove Sooo many great one-liners and I loved the Circle Flip Chart bit!
Having a giant spider drop down on you during your act might faze a normal human... but Demetri just leveraged her for more laughs, and made the show even better.
Demetri is a delight - we laughed our faces off. Love the venue at Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco - The only improvement would be if Palace of Fine Arts used recyclable aluminum cups rather than plastic. Doesn't matter if plastic is "recyclable"or bioplastic or any other greenwashed meaningless words for plastic - it's all forever garbage and we should collectively be pooping our drawers over the environmental and health impacts - no escaping it anywhere on earth. :/ Good to laugh in the meantime though...
The March 24, 2024 show at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco was my introduction to the comedy of Demetri Martin. Seeing that he billed himself as "The Joke Machine,"I was looking forward to an evening of hearty laughter. At best, I chuckled maybe a half dozen times across the whole performance. There were some other clever moments that almost caused a chuckle. But not once did I experience hearty laughter. The audience tried. There were people in the audience that did laugh. When a few people did laugh heartedly, that was funnier than what was coming from the stage. But even those people that felt they had had to laugh, because they had spent money for a ticket, were stunned by how clunkily the show ended with a sudden, "That's all I have."And I'm not sure if the whole thing lasted even an hour! Now I know what to expect and there is no need to ever see the Joke Machine again.
First off, Demetri continues to be an endless source of humor. Whether his beginning relation tips, his keytar performance, or just his personal view on being a parent...I never stopped laughing. The venue was cozy despite holding a full house. The vip package was totally worth it as it was an experience i will remember fondly. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend his shows as he makes each show unique...whether at the giant Orlando Hard rock or the comfier Ponte Vedra Concert Hall...he will have u in stitches throughout the performance. Also such a nice down to earth person to meet.
One of the funniest live comedy shows we have ever attended. I look forward to seeing him again!
This is the second time we saw him and it was just as good as the first time! I laughed so hard I cried! There's no one out there like him!
I’ve been to a few Demetri Martin shows over the years and was also a fan of his show (which he pokes fun at in the set) and he is just so consistently funny. He takes the jokes that don’t land and makes them into new ones and you don’t even remember the ones that don’t land. I wish nothing but the best for him and his family! Do yourself a favor and buy the tickets if he’s in your town!
Always entertaining, can't wait to see the new special!!!
Demetri does it again! He takes the obvious and turns it into something more than it is an makes you laugh at it. He says it has been 5 years since he has been here that's way too long! If I would have taken the time to look at his tour schedule, I probably would have tried to go to more than one show! I did the meet & greet for the second time with Mr Martin, and I got to say he is great so personable warm and caring. Really takes time with you. More than "nice to meet you! Good show"and move on please, you got your picture, keep it moving, keep it moving, like some of the other meet & greets I have been to. Hope that he comes here more often and if he does, I would buy him dinner before the show!
Very funny, and he had/performed a variety of stories and joke “types” that kept things moving and fresh. I would definitely see him again!
We have been following Demetri Martin as a comic and actor for many years. His new work is just as entertaining as the material I have watched time and time again.
A nonstop laugh. I actually want to go to see him again to catch any bits I missed from laughing to loud. Well worth my time.
Demetri admitted he is working on an act for his next special, and it showed. He is a very funny guy but some stuff didn't work for me. It didn't help that there were a couple of hecklers in the crowd, which he handled well, but still interrupted his timing and routine. Technical difficulties (unplugged keytar) didn't help either.
Demetri Martin was absolutely hysterical, we were in tears we were laughing so hard. His show has so much entertaining and creative elements that I have never seen in comedy before which added to the experience. This was my first time at the Steelhouse and I would give them feedback to elevate the stage and/or include a video live stream, I could only very rarely sneak a glance at him which was particularly disappointing in one particular segment as we couldn't see his drawing.
Demetri Martin has a unique sense of humour and I just love it. He’s so calm in his delivery. Is there such a thing as soothing comedy? If not this guy invented it. I laughed. His merch is absolutely amazing get there early! No opener.
It was fantastic, unique, and clever! Demetri, we loved the dark, soothing meditation so much that you should make a podcast! I would listen to it every night or whenever I needed to destress and have a good laugh!! Please!!!
Demitri is hilarious and I'll definitely see him again.
The Netflix special wasn't filmed About a third of the show was watching Demetri chase a fly around the stage.
