About

Death Cab for Cutie was formed in Bellingham, WA in 1997 and almost immediately entered the ranks of the era's definitive bands, fueled in large part by the remarkable power of co-founder, lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Benjamin Gibbard's complex, often bittersweet songcraft. The band made their worldwide popular breakthrough with 2003's RIAA Platinum certified Transatlanticism, later named by NPR as one of "The Decade's 50 Most Important Recordings." Plans, their 2005 Atlantic Records debut, saw Death Cab for Cutie ascending to even greater heights, earning RIAA platinum certification and a GRAMMY® Award nomination for "Best Alternative Album" while spawning the chart-topping singles, "Soul Meets Body," "Crooked Teeth," and "I Will Follow You into the Dark," the latter of which was honored with a GRAMMY® nod for "Best Pop Performance By Duo Or Group With Vocals."

  • Death Cab Rocks New Orleans!!!

by NateJ on 2/7/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

Death Cab pulled out all the stops playing some of their greatest and some great new songs! These guys rocked it out and Momma opening up for them was an added gift as they were awesome!

Such an amazing show! Ben sounds exactly the same live as he does on records. Great light show. Definitely one of my favorite experiences.

by Autumn on 2/6/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

This is my 2nd time seeing Death Cab and my husbands first. It did not disappoint. It was a great performance. We loved it and would have turned around and watched it again right afterwards if we could have.

  • Great Show

by cliff on 2/6/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great, and I love the Orpheum. I bought a ticket in the balcony because I have a difficult time standing unfortunately two selfish people out of the entire balcony decided to stand right in front of me.

  • Surreal

by Leslie jean on 2/5/23Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

After adoring this band for 20 years, I finally had the opportunity to see them live. Ben’s energy and pure philosophical lyrics come together in life-creating a most beautiful melody. It was a dream come true.

  • Just as good live

by Shane on 2/5/23Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a fan of this band for quite a few years and have never taken the opportunity to see them live. They were amazing. Not sure if I’m leaning towards, worth the wait, or, I can’t believe I have missed seeing their love show all these years. Either way, I will not be missing another one if I can help it.

  • Incredible show 11/10

by All-in on 2/5/23Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

This show was absolutely incredible. The audio was perfect at Hard Rock and Ben and the gang were so polished. They played Brothers on a Hotel Bed which i had requested. It felt like they played it for me. Asphalt Meadows is truly a special album and Death Cab for Cutie is the best concert ticket you can buy.

  • Amazing as always

by Emily on 2/5/23Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Such a great show. The sound was awesome. It’s a really nice size venue to see DCFC. Ben engaged with the audience quite a bit. They played some new songs from AM and a lot of solid song choices spanning their discography.

  • Incredible!

by NSDR on 2/5/23Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Their shows are always incredible!! It was perfect.

  • Worth every penny!

by Amber on 2/5/23Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

The balcony seating at the hard rock was amazing. Every seat is a great seat and the sound wasn't perfect, but the view made up for it. There is a bar and restroom very close. The staff was so helpful with finding seats and leaving wasn't insane, either.

  • Wonderful

  • Phenomenal Musicians and Performers

by pinky on 2/2/23Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

Death Cab for Cutie does NOT disappoint! They put on an incredible show where they played old, new, and all the hits in between. Loved seeing them live, and the accompanying light show was well done. The mixing was well done, and there were times when I thought for sure I was listening to an album. Such amazing energy though! Momma opened for them, and was not mixed as well as Death Cab. Their performance was great aside from the soundmixing. Would love to see Momma in a better setup.

  • Excellent Show by an Excellent Band!

by David on 2/2/23Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

This was an excellent show by an excellent band! Being that it was a Sunday night our energy level may have been down a bit, making this 4 star instead of 5 star. They had an amazing light show and some songs reminded us of Pink Floyd live. I wish for this band that they get a big hit because I think they are in the same league as Coldplay.

  • Fantastic show

by Ginger Delite on 2/1/23Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

This was the first time that I've been to this venue. It was easy to park the check-in process to go through the metal detectors and security was easy. They already had an area and lines court ordered off for Merch which was a seamless process. The staff gave great directions to your seats. The show itself was amazing. 10/10 would recommend

  • Amazing live band!

by jdickeync on 2/1/23Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

DCFC never disappoints. Playing songs throughout their catalog to please any fan, they put forth a powerhouse live show. Great lighting without being a distraction. The musicianship on stage is phenomenal. Great sound mix to boot! Only critique is opening band, Momma received a terrible front of house mix which made their set hard to enjoy to the fullest.

  • energy like the old days

by thom on 2/1/23Ovens Auditorium - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

DCFC crushed this most recent Charlotte show. They sounded and performed more like their shows of old. Huge energy and they sounded even better!
