About

Death Cab for Cutie was formed in Bellingham, WA in 1997 and almost immediately entered the ranks of the era's definitive bands, fueled in large part by the remarkable power of co-founder, lead vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Benjamin Gibbard's complex, often bittersweet songcraft. The band made their worldwide popular breakthrough with 2003's RIAA Platinum certified Transatlanticism, later named by NPR as one of "The Decade's 50 Most Important Recordings." Plans, their 2005 Atlantic Records debut, saw Death Cab for Cutie ascending to even greater heights, earning RIAA platinum certification and a GRAMMY® Award nomination for "Best Alternative Album" while spawning the chart-topping singles, "Soul Meets Body," "Crooked Teeth," and "I Will Follow You into the Dark," the latter of which was honored with a GRAMMY® nod for "Best Pop Performance By Duo Or Group With Vocals."

  • Great show

by B. on 4/11/19Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

They sounded really good and performed their popular songs/hits. They interacted with the crowd and put on a great show! The venue was a good size for a concert - not too big, (and, so as far as I could tell, there were no bad seats) - with great acoustics. Really recommend catching them live!!

I’ve wanted to see DCFC for years! It was a wonderful concert! Only thing I’d say is I wish they could’ve played longer!

  • Appreciation

by Cait on 4/10/19The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

LOVED the show! I bought the tickets for my boyfriend as a gift since they are his favorite band. I had listened to them before, but after the show I had a new appreciation for them. They sounded great and the experience I had dancing with my boyfriend to all of his favorite songs made it even more special. That's what I love about live music, the way it makes you feel before, during and after the shows. I am definitely a bigger fan of Death Cab now.

  • Strong Show

by MemphisWinsAgain on 4/10/19The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

DCFC put on a good rock show, i was not familiar with all their material but still loved the high energy fun show. The light show was really good also and the band was really tight. A few brief periods of feedback did not dampen the show at all. Totally worth the money and time.

Wish he hadn’t told everyone to stand. I wasn’t able to see or my son being to short. Otherwise great time

  • Perfect

by Tina on 4/6/19Revention Music Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

Nice intimate venue. Great show that showcased their talent. Opening act was not good, but overall, enjoyable experience.

  • Solid.

by D. on 4/3/19The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

It was a solid show with a good selection of old and new songs, including their most popular. My only knock against it was that the sound in the venue might have been a little off, and the overall production was a bit simpler in comparison to some other recent Vegas concerts.

  • The venue needs to be saved for elementary school concerts

    by M. on 4/3/19Tucson Music Hall - TucsonRating: 2 out of 5

Or maybe church choir concerts. In no way should a band of death cabs’s status be playing at a place like that. Maybe it’s just Tucson in general? But it was out dated and impractical.

  • Omg !!

by A. on 4/3/19Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

Beautiful performance and amazing venue ! I’m so happy I had the opportunity to experience this !

  • Gave whole experience a C.

by Playa Azul on 4/3/19Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - AlbuquerqueRating: 3 out of 5

First parking garage that was supposed to connect to venue had pathway shut down. So we had to go outside and it was raining. This was our first time at the venue. When we got in there were no signs directing us and finally we figured out where the venue was...upstairs and in the side of where we were!! Our $50 seats were just okay. Won’t pick that area again!! The sound guy sucked for Death Cab For Cutie ... vocals were undertones at best... over powered by the instruments!! Head vocalist spent too much time with his back to audience and drummers vocals were distorted... on the fuzzy side!! We were definitely disappointed. But I must say we loved “My Brightest Diamond”. Her act was perfection sound was just right and performance was full of energy!! Glad we went to learn about this new to us group!!

  • Amazing

So good. I’ve wanted to see this band for years and it was great to finally have that experience. The set was fantastic and everything about the show was well-thought out.

  • Loved every second of the concert

by Allison on 4/3/19Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

The seats were not the best for seeing the entire band but My Brightest Diamond and Death Can were completely amazing. The quality of the sound was incredible. Some venues struggle with getting it right for concerts and the Kiva did an amazing job of letting you really hear the band.

  • Lackluster

    by D. A. on 4/2/19Tucson Music Hall - TucsonRating: 3 out of 5

The concert was okay. There was nothing special about it, and there seemed to be a lack of energy and the band was just going through the motions. The concert wasn't bad, but I could've just kicked off a Death Cab for Cutie playlist on my stereo and had the same experience.

  • Energy Unlimited!!

by SAM on 4/2/19Tucson Music Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Ben & players had so much energy that it knocked my socks off & got dirty feet from it! Amazing!!!!!

  • Awesome concert

by Rose on 4/2/19Tucson Music Hall - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

I didn’t enjoy the lady who came before the band, however once DCFC played, “I Dreamt We Spoke Again” I knew it was going to be a great concert!

  • I was here for the opener

by LastDeadMouse on 11/20/18Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

I must admit, I was here to see the opener Charly Bliss. They were a little off their game due to the absence of founding guitarist Spencer Fox, but they pounded through and (I beleive) won over some of the aging emo kids who were there for Death Cab. Death Cab were fine. I think they have too many mid tempo songs and not enough ROCK, but they did have a wonderful light show and did seem generally happy to draw so well (two nights in a 4200-set hall is nothing to sneeze at). All in all, I'd never have been her if it wan't for Charly Bliss

  • Always great

by Sancheezzy on 10/26/18Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been going to death cab’s shows every year they come to Orlando. They’re always great and the crowd isn’t rowdy af.

The sound quality was amazing, the visuals were great, and the set list was perfect. I even had no issues getting out of the parking deck. I had a great time!
