    Dead Can Dance~beyond beautiful

by ArtSTL on 9/8/12Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Amazing, beautiful, magical experience that I will never forget. Thank you DCD. So glad that we made the 5 hr. each way journey from St.Louis. The band graced us with three encores, the audience replied with a thunderous applause to each and every song. We soaked in their notes and just didn't want the night to end. Simply BLISS!

    DCD

by Virtualmedium on 9/8/12Beacon Theatre - New York

Great show and acoustics. I hoped they would play longer. The sound was awesome near the sound board area. Really awesome logo and background displays. The Beacon is one of the nices places to watch artists like DCD. Lisa's voice was incredible. Great show overall.

    Great return of DCD

by soveryfaraway on 9/7/12Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

Virtually all of the material, save one song (Rakim), was new before the band hit encores. The feature was, of course, the new album "Anastasis", but there were also a couple of tracks from the recent solo projects. I'd highly recommend the show. Disappointed by the inadequate supply of logo merchandise.

Dead Can Dance was Def a Highlight Experience

by JMPD on 9/7/12Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Of course I wanted to see the show, but I didn't expect for it to rank in the top 5 shows ever! It's just Lisa Gerrard's voice and Brandon Perry's smooth timbre made the show an experience to remember!

    Dead can Dance was life-changing.

by Drummeat on 9/7/12Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

Everything about the show was top notch! The song choices, performance, the audio quality was the best I've ever heard. The mix was transparent and loud yet, not overbearing. Light show was ethereal. Production team was on top of their game. Even the crowd was interesting to look at. A woman 3 rows in front of me was dressed like a peacock and 1/3 of the guys were in kilts. Definitely one of my top 3 live experiences. My only complaint is I couldn't travel to see more shows as it was quite a lot to experience in just one show. Thank you for doing this tour,17 years later and it was definitely worth the wait.

Outstanding show in an excellent venue!!! Lighting and sound were "spot on." Dead Can Dance STILL HAS IT!!!! Tickets were pricey but worth this once in a decade experience. They played many of my all-time favorites as well as much material from their new album.

dead can dance was, as should be expected by anyone remotely familiar with their music, absolutely otherworldly. the acoustics of the ryman were stunning for this event.

    Astounding

by michaelnct on 9/7/12Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Dead Can Dance were the one group I thought I would never see in my lifetime. But there they were, an astonishing concert of their new album, plus a few old favourites. They are definitely at their best on stage, confirming their live albums. The journalists and radio commentators have every justification to refer to Lisa Gerrard as "The Incomparable Lisa Gerrard", as they do, her voice is beyond belief. And Brendan Perry has a unique songwriting talent and may have the best male singing voice ever. I hope they will have another reunion tour in the future, and I hope it will be sooner than 7 years, as it was from their 2005 tour. However I cannot recommend the historic Ryman Auditorium as a venue, the staff are surly, rude and demeaning to the patrons, particularly the security staff. I know what I'm talking about, I worked in a municipal theatre for many years and to us the patron was king and the customer was always right. Gaylords Entertainment needs to do a housecleaning in there from the top manager to the very bottom.

i've been waiting to see dcd for about 20+ years now, and to say it was worth the wait would be an understatement! AMAZING show, and after 3 encores, I could've stayed for another 3 more! if dcd's coming to your city, don't even think about going - just go!

    Once In A Lifetime

by TheMattyGroves on 9/7/12Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

i never imagined i would see Dead Can Dance, much less in my beloved home town at the historic Ryman Auditorium. i travelled to Chicago last year to see Brendan Perry, thinking it would be my only opportunity to witness his art. Having seen around 80 shows at this legendary venue, dating back to the early 90s, i have never experienced a voice fill that hallowed space like Perry's rich baritone. i remarked to a friend that it was as if the Ryman's sacred timbers had been waiting his timbre to finally realize their potential. There were a few moments that were literally breathtaking. What a thrilling evening! Thanks Brendan, Lisa & Co.!

Dead Can Dance back after 16 years and still shine

by Jaybeebabe on 9/7/12Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

It’s so very cool to look around at a DCD show to see such a diverse crowd of people. Clearly, the music of DCD can attract such a wide audience. Not many other artists can attract the same type of audience mix. After having seen them live again in concert since 1996, they have never lost their shine. They performed a majority of songs from the new CD, “Anastasis” with a few surprises from yesterday. Lisa Gerrard’s voice is glass shattering, mesmerizing all present into a numbing silence. Brendan Perry soothing, quietly sexy voice reaches out with calming sincerity, singing stories of love and life. My attention was caught early on as the opener, a single man, David Kuckhermann, played an instrument called the Hang. Think of a steel drum only convex, like a turtle shell with dimples. He also played an instrument that looked like a tambourine. It was such a great performance I had to buy his CD. Overall, this show at the Cobb Energy Center was the most mesmerizing, enjoyable, uplifting performance to date.

by PoeLove on 9/7/12Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - Atlanta

This was my third time seeing DCD over the past 20 years and somehow, they only get better and better. They are absolutely amazing and this show was one of the best I've ever seen. Nice venue, too.
