  • Amazing experience - give and take

by Webbs on 8/20/25Rating: 5 out of 5

5 stars for the bands! New yearly tradition unlocked. We attended prelims on Thursday and Finals on Saturday. Thursday-We were in Section 143, 9th row. Great view, great sound, formation changes a little hard to make out. We arrived shortly after the doors opened and left before scores that evening. 12 hour day. We were able to exit and re-enter with hand stamp which is great for a long day. There were several band booths and other vendors which was awesome. My daughter was able to get plenty of swag. We were able to get through food lines and bathroom lines easily but that’s partly because we timed things a little more carefully. Food is expensive as per usual in arenas, be prepared for that. We did notice that most people stayed closer to the east side when finding food, however, we did find food stalls further down the other end that had no lines. For people who are sensitive to colder temperatures, come prepared. As others have said, it is cold. I personally have cold sensitives but was comfortable in jeans and a lite sweater. We enjoyed our time so much we bought last min tickets morning of finals. Section 633, row 12. What a hike that was entering at the east entrance, bring your walking shoes, and hope you’re not afraid of high places. The view was perfect for formation changes. However, the big screen to the right was obstructed by a large curtain so you couldn’t see close ups. The large screen to the left was not showing the field which is incredibly unfortunate. The audio from announcers was either off or not loud enough and was horrible. You could not hear anything they were saying up there. The food stall directly in from the section entrance was selling food that wasn’t ready. The lines had 2-4 people backed up who were waiting and had already paid. Take away from finals day, fix the audio, fix the visuals, and care a little more for the people in the nose bleeds. Highly highly appreciate the band vendors for staying open after awards. All in all, we will be back.

We are hard core DCI fans. However, this year we were able to afford a trip to see the finals live. We saw the bands in lots and then at the Lucas Oil Stadium live. It was the most wonderful experience that we are determined to make this a yearly family tradition. All the bands are amazing and talented. Words cannot describe how wonderful it all was!

We bought our tickets late, and so we were on the 6th floor, end zone, top rows for Thursday and Friday nights. Sadly, we could not see the big screen from under there, and we were bummed that the tv's that are under the overhang up there were not on to show us what the rest of the stadium was seeing. Also, the speakers needed to be turned on under that overhang because we could not hear the announcer at all. We could see the corps and hear them pretty well, but missed announcements, introductions, and it was hard to hear scores being announced. Also bummed that the bathrooms on the 6th level are very small and the lines were so huge during intermission, and the line entered from 2 different doors, so there was a bit of a competition in the lady's room as to who's turn it was for the tine little 7 seater bathroom with 2 lines of probably 40 women each trying to get a stall. And the pizzas on the 6th floor were not ready, and they continued to take orders and then the people had to stand randomly and wait. Since there was no order to the line of people waiting for their pizzas, it meant some people that came 20 minutes later got their pizza before others that ordered way ahead of them. There should have been a designated place for pizza orders to wait to get the pizzas in the order that they were taken. And there needed to be more than 1 guys making pizzas up there. 5 people taking orders vs 1 guy making pizza doesn't work well. The pizza was really good though. :)

My wife and I brought two people who had never seen drum corps to the show. They got to see me perform with the Troopers Legacy Corps at the DCI All Age Soundsport event after which they got their first taste of junior corps at the DCI Finals. It was great to see their reaction to the corps. Each corps was the "best", until the next corps performed!!!

  • Always a great experience.

Have been going to DCI finals for the last 7 yrs since I am now closer to the venue. Since I am from Boston, you could say I was a little bias as to whom I wanted to win, but all the corps put their best efforts into their shows. Although the Bluecoats did not win, my hat is off to them for their tenacity and grit to do a repeat of a championship. When they announced 2nd place to the Bluecoats, the audience went crazy with excitement for Boston. The noise level was off the charts as the win was well deserved. Great job Boston, the title "BOOM"seemed to fit the first title win, and to win on their 85th anniversary was just the icing on the cake. Looking forward to next year. GO BAC!!!!

I've been attending this event for over 20 years and every year has been a very entertaining experience. The Lucas Oil stadium is a perfect venue for this activity. I would highly recommend this whether you're a novice to drum corps or have been with the activity for many years.
