David Nail grew up in a small town in Missouri, the son of a former high school band director whose musical collection included Stevie Wonder, Elton John and the Beatles. Nail turned to country in the 1990s, then started going back into its history and became a big fan of Glen Campbell. He moved to Nashville right after high school but returned to Missouri after a year. Two years later, he gave Nashville another try. He completed an album for Mercury Records, but it was not released. After taking a break from the music business to help coach a baseball team, he was introduced to music publisher and producer Frank Liddell. Their musical partnership led Nail to sign another record deal with MCA Nashville. His MCA album, I'm About to Come Alive, is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2009.

Absolutely the most enjoyable concert I have ever been to. I'm an avid David Nail fan and getting to see him perform in a small venue was such a thrill for me. I am so glad I did not miss the opportunity. He is AMAZING!!!! Thank you, Santa Fe Hotel for booking him.
This was the 4th time I've seen David Nail in the past 12 mths. He just keeps getting better and better everytime. I am a huge fan. The opener Native Run seemed a bit out of place when Cory Cox was the first act. It went from upbeat and rockin to mellow to David Nail. Venue was extremely hot, it felt more like an outdoor concert in July.
David Nail was excellent! I listen to his music all the time, this was my first time seeing him in concert, so good! It is always a good time a 8 second saloon..

Missed seeing Katie Armiger, but seeing Joel Crouse for the first time was awesome! Parmalee was soooo good, they gained a new fan! Brett Eldredge? I've loved him since the beginning of time. He put on a good performance. Love and Theft rocked the stage and everyone sang along to "Angel Eyes". I was hanging out in the Foundation Room during Maggie Rose and David Nail, so I only saw bits and pieces of them.
I would have really enjoyed this event more if it was a little better organized! Because it was outside and standing room only people were pushing to get in front of you and even though it was outside the smoke was horrible, smokers were very inconsiderate. The event seemed to be geared towards the younger crowd. The other issue was that the house of blues did not offer their regular menu and was out of everything we asked for!! Hoping some issues will be fixed next year as I realize this was the first one and for the money it was a great deal! The artists were great!
All of the artists were great! The day was perfect! Only thing was that it started at 3pm and lasted until midnight and had to stand the entire time.
Even though the crowd size was disappointing, Nail put on a good show. Both the band and vocals were outstanding. After seeing Nail three times this past year I am ready for some new original material.
David Nail put on a wonderful show (as always). Love the venue and how you can be right up next to the performer(s).
Been to see David nail twice now at bluebird nightclub. Amazing bar and amazing performer! Will go again if he comes back! Can't wait.

David was truly amazing!!! The stage was viewable & loved the fact of the big screens to watch if you can't see the stage.

Tremendous voice and energy. Hard to understand how his voice can be so strong every day especially after doing a show the night before, outdoors with the chill of the Big-E in the air. Loved "Turning Home" and "She Runs Away" the most. Wish I had the chance to see "Sound Of A Million Dreams" but I'll leave that for next time. A definate take any time in the future when he comes back to his 2nd favorite city. Thanks David, his crew and the Royale staff for an enjoyable count.

Great show! I only wish the venue hadn't put such a short set limit on his playing time. David's performance was awesome, and his opener Drake White was amazing as well.
Really great show! David connected with the audience and played some awesome songs. Lame that he could only play for 75 minutes rather than the two hours he'd planned because of the venue's curfew, but what he did have time for, he executed brilliantly.
Such an amazing show and was affordable compared to most shows these days. David Nail never dissappoints.
