David Nail grew up in a small town in Missouri, the son of a former high school band director whose musical collection included Stevie Wonder, Elton John and the Beatles. Nail turned to country in the 1990s, then started going back into its history and became a big fan of Glen Campbell. He moved to Nashville right after high school but returned to Missouri after a year. Two years later, he gave Nashville another try. He completed an album for Mercury Records, but it was not released. After taking a break from the music business to help coach a baseball team, he was introduced to music publisher and producer Frank Liddell. Their musical partnership led Nail to sign another record deal with MCA Nashville. His MCA album, I'm About to Come Alive, is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2009.

Bottom Line, David Nail is a great artist!!! However, 8 Seconds needs some help. I'm not sure if it's the acoustics or just the crowd, but the ambient crowd noise is too loud. We saw a show there a few months back and the crowd was so loud that you couldn't understand the artist talking between songs.... This time we picked front row seats, thinking it would alleviate the crowd noise. Much to our dismay, it didn't. The PA was over / behind us, so the vocals weren't great...and the crowd was still loud enough that it made me feel bad for the artist. DN is a Nationally Ranked artist, he doesn't deserve to be treated like some trying-to-get-to-Nashville-wanna-be in a shotty old Honky Tonk... I love the small venue and I love the idea of 8 Seconds, but I'm not likely going to go back to a show until I know something has been done to solve this issue. Either raise the ticket prices so that everybody there made a conscious decision to see the show...or install some sound dampers so that the dancehall crowd noise doesn't travel back up towards the stage....
David Nail = AMAZING! David Nail is a great artist with an awesome bluesy, soulful voice. His music moves me deeply. If i only had one word it would me amazing! I would HIGHLY recommend going to see him! He is worth every penny and more....but don't go to 8 seconds! The venue sucks. The people there do not care about the person on stage. They would rather smoke and ride the electrical bull. I actually felt very bad for him b/c there was probably only 50 people actually listening to him.
David Nail was awsome! This was the second time I had seen him, the first was in 2010 at the Blue Note in Columbia. That show as awsome too however the thing that stood out in my mind was the crowd size this time around. In 2010 there were maybe 200 people at the show in 2011 I would guess the show was sold out of close to it. It was good to see his fan base had grown because he is very talented and a good performer.
The encore songs just kept coming! So glad to hear new songs and can't wait for the new album. Great night!
Played lots of the old album while giving us a sneak peak of the next album. Cant wait for it to come out!
This was the 2nd time I have seen David Nail- both times at Showcase Live in Foxboro. He sounds great live....no difference really between that and his records. Love how he connects so easily with us "northeners" and seems to appreciate the fact that we are big country fans! I couldn't help thinking that he's going to become to big of an act to play such an intimate show. I'm glad I got to see him before that happens!
Great show, Zach Lockwood was a great opening act. Saw David when he opened for Lady A in Boston, loved him, bought his CD loved it and thought he was excellent on Thursday. He engaged the crowd has terrific vocals, absolutely love him!!!
David Nail is incredible. The band music was a bit too loud, but it was a great concert overall.
I've seen David Nail now 3 times and the man doesn't disappoint...he's charismatic and his voice is on it every time. His music is labeled as country, but if you see him live he mixes funk, soul and jazz sounds with his country...and he really has something for everyone. It's obvious the crowd loves him at the show. He feeds off the crowd and it shows. I can't stress it enough...he's fabulous.
David Nail is amazing live. He is like a fine wine, getting better and better with age. An unreal energy on stage with amazing vocals. Time and again I am anamored by his stage presence. Fabulous!!
What a great venue to see a concert and David Nail was amazing! I've always liked him and to finally see him as a headliner act was great. He rocked the crowd and sang unbelievably. I can't wait for him to come back to New England and for his new album!
This is the third time I've seen David Nail and he keeps getting better! Beautiful, soulful voice with great control. Can't say enough good things about him, if you get the chance go see David Nail! You'll be glad you did!
David Nail put on a lively, fun, engaging show. The concert was at Showcase Live in Foxboro. It was our first time seeing an act perform there and I highly recommend it! Dinner and a show, it was awesome. From front door management, to our waiter, the opening act, & to David Nail everything was spot-on. David Nail is a great performer. He has an amazing voice. I wish he played more of his own music; he's excellent enough to stand on his own with out covering anyone else's songs. He said he loved New England and his performance showed it! I look forward to his new album and future concerts.
He sounded MUCH better live than he does on the radio. I would reccommend anyone who likes David Nail to go see him in concert. He may not be very known right now but once his fame grows and he starts getting more and more shows with more and more people they will be very impressed with the show he puts on and the voice that comes out. His band was great. They were very energetic and into the music just as I had hoped for. He is an awesome musician and talented singer... He will be doing BIG things soon.
This was our second time to see DAVID NAIL, 1st time at LSU's Tiger Stadium for the Bayou Country MusicFest May 29, 2010. Saw him this time at The Hard Rock in Biloxi Aug 28, 2010 and can I tell you he really puts on a great show! Such a strong, powerful voice ~ he can really belt it out....especially on songs like TURNING HOME!!! And such vocal range too on songs like STRANGERS ON A TRAIN, I'M ABOUT TO COME ALIVE, and Don Henley's BOYS OF SUMMER (David's last encore song). Band members rocked!!!!!!!!!! That 23-year old keyboard player performed like a much more mature performer, full of soul! Luckily for his fans, I sure am glad his baseball gig didn't pan out!!!
David Nails show at Patriot Place was amazing.... He has a voice of an Angel. Great performer, hope he comes back to New England ASAP....
