David Garrett and his band are unforgettable!!! The music blows you away. David's connection to the audience makes you feel like your spending time w/a friend. Between songs, David shared tidbits of his life w/a sense of humor. You will not be disappointed. I was fortunate enough to get front row seats, and WOW!!!!!

  • awesome~~~

by PianoandViolin on 1/29/14City National Civic - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

My daughter and I have been waiting for his concert for two years. He should come every year, and perhaps consider playing in San Francisco (not San Jose or ...why Sacramento?). David Garrett was just so awesome. He seems to know what the crowd wants. At least he knew what I wanted. He played Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Queen, Michael Jackson, Beetles and all sorts of other things and they all sounded so good!

  • David Garrett is a genius!

I had never heard of David Garrett before. I was looking for something new & different to do with my hubby! David Garrett is super talented and had a great connection to the audience. I have ordered 2 of his CD's and would go to another concert is a heartbeat!

  • Concert of the Year

    by styler1949 on 1/29/14Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

David redefines what we expect to hear from the violin. He is a master of the skillfully rendered classical pieces he performs, while creating surprising versions of pop music standards. He plays with unguarded emotion and joy and is generous with the other musicians on his stage. He is charismatic and gives the audience a lot of personal stories and anecdotes between numbers, all of which felt spontaneous and natural. I'm sure he would be a charming dinner guest. This was one of the loveliest concerts I've been to in some time, and I'll see him whenever he chooses to come to San Diego again.

The show was just ok. It seemed very short, an accordian player played the first 20 minutes, then when David did come on he had a 20-25 minute intermission and then the show was over. A little disappointing. We saw him the last time he was here and the show was much better - longer!!!

  • high energy violin

by gsparky on 1/29/14Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

David has been around for a while playing for people who like violin music but can't handle 2 hours of classical music. He has a play list mixed with classical and rock music that keeps the mood fresh. I do enjoy listening to both but I couldn't listen to 2 hours of one or the other...so thats really great about his shows. He tended to favor the right side of the stage. If you were seated on the left you were looking at his back 75% of the show. I would love to see him with the San Diego symphony one of these days

  • Excellent

by soniusia on 1/29/14Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was excellent. I enjoyed it a lot. I discovered David Garret possibly 6 month ago and I regret not knowing this excellent performer earlier. I will recommend him to everybody, young people or older generation. Ticket master provided also excellent service for me.

David Garrett leaves the soul filled with joy! His ability to entertain both the very young and the older generations is unparalleled. He chats a little with the audience, has great wit, then gets down to business and creates music that is downright unearthly. Chopin's Nocturne was my favorite selection that he played. WOW.....

by Mimis2014 on 1/28/14City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing experience for me and even for my son who is 11 years, we loved it.... David is very talented and a great performer. The concert last it about 2 hours but I wished it went on longer. We drove back home (2 hours) listening to his CD's that we bought at the concert. We are definitely going to see him the next time he comes back!!.

  • David Garrett was Great!

by WhoMe98 on 1/28/14City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 4 out of 5

David Garrett put on a great show but Unfortunitly I don't think this venue was the best fit. The music was great and I've visited the venue before for other shows and it's always been standing room only. The Performance by david was great but the venue added sits not sure why but they did and they aren't set up for a sitting type show. The screens on the side walls helped to see what was going on stage because Unfortunitly unless you where the first row of every section the only thing you could see was the persons head in front of you. This should only be a standing only concert type of venue or figure out how to incorporate sits where you can actually see the performance on stage not just the screens. Once againg the actual David and his opening act where great just wished the concert would have been standing room only or at another venue that is set up with stadium sitting.

  • David Garrett is hot

by curlybn on 1/28/14City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Besides being hot, he is amazingly talented. It was an incredible concert. There was so much beauty in the passion and sound of the music. I loved it.

  • Loved his version of queens music

by steadybarbie on 1/27/14City National Grove of Anaheim - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time I have seen David at this theater and he is WONDERFUL!! So alive and passionate with his music. He makes your heart sing! His entrance is SO EXCITING and he is so close to everyone in the audience. I also loved the stories he told from time to time...especially the one about the conductor. There is NO ONE like David Garrett. he is definitely NOT your boring concert violinist!!! I took a friend that had never heard of him and she was in AWE!!! it was her birthday.
