Garrett does not lack any emotional involvement in his concerts. He's dramatic, emotional when he plays and has passion for every number. He just needs to improve with his interaction with the audience - when he talks between numbers. He makes you excited, involved and makes you feel the beauty of his music and talent. The concert was over far too soon for me.
This was an amazing concert! Everything from Bach to Metallica way played. His rendition of Coldplay was utterly amazing, words cannot describe!
This is the third time my mother and myself have seen David Garret. My sister never has, but she was in awe. She was so impressed that the concert was better than she could ever imagine. He is one talented young man, taking rock music and putting on his classical twist, and taking classical music and putting on a rock touch. We enjoy his little chats inbetween songs. He is a pleasant person, and a joy to watch. His entire band enhances his abilities. WE WILL SEE HIM AGAIN!!!!!!! AND AGAIN!!!!!!!! We love you David Garrett
A friend took me to a DG concert 2 years ago in Mpls Mn. I had not heard of DG until the show. He was simply amazing then too. I have been a fan ever since. This time when I found out he was coming back to the State Theater in Mpls. Mn, I bought tickets. It was a super bonus because the friend I took was the one who brought me the first time. It was also the eve of her 40th Birthday! "Best gift ever!"
I have been to see David Garrett now two times. I thought this performance was good but not as good as the last time. I did not like that he was in sweat pants. He is a great, talented violinist, I understand wanting to look laid back but that was a little too laid back and almost raunchy. I like that he talks to the audience but he needs to use some different jokes and stories. I am almost positive I heard at least one or two of them the last time. I bought a CD and love his music. It seems like he brought his band into his music more this time. Not too sure if I like this, still listening and thinking. It seems his last CD's are more him and this time he almost seems in the back ground.
the decibel level blasted us out of our seats. he is very talented and his range very wide, but he could not overcome whoever it was that controlled the volume.
This was the best concert I have ever seen!! David Garrett plays the music with such emotion , passion and you can tell his joy of music and sharing it. he was personable, engaging and quite a stage presence from the minute he walked on . He is a joy and delight to watch, I have told all my friends and they want to go next time he comes . Recommend him highly!
I drove from Texas to see this show. It was so worth the trip. David and his band play so well together. David makes the violin sing. I have a new respect for that instrument. I love how he walks from the back of the venue through the crowd and plays to us. His facial expressions show his passion for the music. He is beautiful to watch. His compositions of new and classical music are out of this world. He talks to the audience at the beginning of almost every piece and shares his world in a very humorous way. If it were feasible, I would travel to Europe for one of his shows with all the extras, ie lighting, videos, etc.
Great musicians! David Garrett puts a great twist on classical and rock music with the band. He's really one in a million to see. Lots of energy and a touch of humor. I hope he comes to Minneapolis more often. Loved it!
This was one of the best concerts I've been too. I have been a fan of David Garrett for a while and am so glad to get the opportunity to see him live. Aside from being a very talented musician, he is very easy on the eyes! I can't wait to see him in concert again!
After the third song, I asked my granddaughter if she was bored and she said, "Absolutely not"!!! She clapped after every song and stood up for standing ovations more than I did. I have not seen her smile so much in a long time. Garrett played the most beautiful songs-some I wanted to cry. His little inserts in between songs where hilarious. He has such good comedic timing. The concert was about 2 hours long-not long enough for me. Anytime I get to see David Garrett I am so so thankful-so thank you again and again and........
David Garrett is amazing! He has to be the best violinist alive today - and he knows how to make an entrance. :) The recordings of him on Youtube do not do him justice. You need to see him in person!
fantastic display of talent, remarkable speed of bow movement
Absolutely fabulous! One of the best concerts I've seen in years. The violin was magical! Bought both of his CD's so I can continue to hear the music...
David Garrett so obviously loves his music that it makes him a joy to watch and listen to. His style is so full of energy and his talent is limitless. Needless to say I am a huge fan and was thrilled with the opportunity to hear him in person. He did not disappoint. He is also very personable when he talks with the audience.
Yes David Garrett was AMAZING. The State Theater so beautiful and the perfect venue for the show. We enjoyed it so much!
The show was very intimate. You felt you were having a gathering of friends with David Garrett as the storyteller. He kept us entertained not only with his exceptional talent on the violin, but with humorous tales and insights to his life. The State Theater was the perfect setting for this type of performance. It offered a quaint, but beautiful setting for an upclose and personal evening. We would see him again and bring friends!
Was so surprised by the diversity of the music. He played something for everyone. Do not miss this show! Had tickets in the fifth row and would have paid three times what I paid to see him!
Having the opportunity to enjoy David's show at a more intimate venue like the Grove was certainly a very special treat. David is one of the most talented artists of our times and he tops that with being an incredibly humble, kind, and down-to-earth human being. His passion and joy for music are highly contagious. His versatility as a musician is admirable: within split seconds he is able to switch from a highly intense rock 'n roll/heavy metal mode into the sensitivity of a classical maestro. One of the highlights of the show was certainly a piece from his movie 'Der Teufelsgeiger' in which he portraits the Italian violinist Paganini. This concert was AMAZING! Thanks for coming back to the Grove, David!
