Amazing!!! Especially in a place likeTown Hall. Much more intimate than a bigger venue. Hope he continues to play in places like Town Hall.

The performance was amazing. Wide range of musical genres covered. Even his band was surprisingly ovation-worthy between the drum and guitar solos. A must-see for any music fan of any age.

I attended David Garrett's concert in Keswick Theater in September with my husband and was absolutely taken by his performance and personality so much so that i had to go to New York Concert again. I also wanted to take my kids, 16 and 18 to see great performer. The reaction was amazing, they just loved the show and I am sure next time David Garrett is on the tour in US, they will go see him again. Thank you David for reaching out to young people and opening their eyes on the classical music.

  • We need to bring in the 20-somethings!

by MelissaSue on 10/26/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

As a violinist of 15 years myself, I was utterly blown away. David Garrett is a truly talented musician, especially for someone so young. His stage presence is amazing making it a pleasure to not just listen to him, but to watch him perform as well. His stories in between songs allow the audience into his life and into who he is as a person and a musician, making it a more personable concert going experience. One thing to note: almost the entire audience fell in the age group of late 30's/early 40's and above. As someone in her mid-20's I found this odd. With his blending of classical with rock and pop I would have thought his music would transcend to a younger generation, to his generation, to my generation. I think David Garrett holds mass appeal to the younger generations of violin players and is someone to look up to. This concert was truly outstanding and I hope he returns to the United States very soon.

  • A Violinist for all ages

by Shively on 10/26/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tickets for David Garrett after seeing him on the cover of the WETA guide for the August - After realizing I had missed the show, I went online and found him - listened to his music and saw him performing - looked to see if he was ever coming to town - Yes! Immediately I bought tickets. WOW! I brought my 17 year old daughter and a friend. We loved it - He seems to be as talented as Joshua Bell but a lot more hip. His music is so diversified and his band was incredibly talented which they would have to be to back him up. The crowd was pretty mixed (not as cool as him) but I guess his primary exposure on PBS would explain. Loved the venue at the Birchmere. Have a feeling that everyone will know who David Garrett is soon!

  • David Garrett Rocks the Violin

by DWinFC on 10/26/09Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

I went because my wife's sister wanted us to join her. I was suspicious (I love Joshua Bell and wasn't sure about the concept of rock violin) until he played the third piece: Bach's Air on G. The way he honors the original while incorporating modern elements is truly genius. My daughter who hates when I play classical music even loved the concert. This very young man is a virtuoso - playing two strings at once impeccably, playing demanding pieces without hesitation - what an amazing experience to watch him and hear the exquisite music he produces with his band.

Wonderful! The Led Zepplen song was my favorite! Amazing how David can play his own harmony and make it sound like are 2 violins on stage when it is only him.

My husband and I flew from Seattle to New York to see David Garrett in concert to celebrate our anniversary and it was an amazing show. It was a great mix of classical with his signature edgy rock pieces. The band backing him was incredible also. What a talented group of musicians. Be sure to see David Garrett when he comes to a city near you. If you are a connoisseur of great music/talent you won't be disappointed!!

I surprised my daughter with tickets to see David Garrett, she was so happy to see him since she became a big fan of David Garrett when she saw him play at PBS, she also plays the violin and one day would like to perfect her skills and to play as beautiful as David Garrett.
