About

Since its earliest days, comedian David Cross' career was defined by two things: adoration by critics and disinterest by mainstream audiences. His stature in the alternative comedy world made him one of the subgenre's brightest stars, seemingly ripe for breakout success for literally decades. Highly intelligent, brutally honest, and often confrontational, Cross never seemed to care too much about conventional success. To his apparent amusement, these potential breakout roles came and went without acceptance by the general public. Nevertheless, the size of the cult following that he earned from "Arrested Development" (Fox, 2003-06) and "Mr. Show with Bob and David" (HBO, 1995-98) eventually resembled conventional success in everything but name.

    Funniest man on the planet!

Laughed the whole show and on my way home.. Still laughing everytime I think about it! Excellent show. The best comedian on the planet in my opinion. His opener was amazing too!

    Cross has lost it

by Davey on 4/16/23Bijou Theatre - Knoxville

Not funny anymore. I laughed once I think. Lots of mocking Christianity. Will never pay to see David Cross.

    Dark, witty humor

by Nikki on 4/16/23Bijou Theatre - Knoxville

First time seeing David Cross standup in almost 15 years/since moving to the south. Also first time at the Bijou theater. The venue was small and intimate. Every seat was a great view. The set was hilarious and taboo. If you’re coming for Tobias humor - this isn’t for you.

    Awesome Show!

by IanBrooklynNOLA on 4/4/23The Joy Theater - New Orleans

Having seen David Cross live once before in Brooklyn in 2016, he was great then and even better now. The Joy Theater is intimate enough and his humor was insightful, raw, and hilarious. The opening comic, Sean Patton, was hysterical as well.

    David cross

by Hogstick33 on 3/28/23The Observatory North Park - San Diego

Information was accurate and sharp but without wit to make it funny. Sean Patton was quite possibly one of the worst comedians I’ve seen.

David Cross was AMAZING / Venue - Meh

by Jen S on 3/27/23Palace Theatre - Los Angeles

David Cross did not disappoint. Hilarious as ever and it felt really good to have a hearty belly laugh with complete strangers. He is such a joy! His opening act was fantastic as well. We had so much fun. The Palace venue needs renovations badly and it’s such a shame to see it in such disrepair. But more than anything, the lights on the performers was dimly lit the entire performance and they didn’t turn up the lights until nearly the end of the show when he brought up a volunteer from the audience. Luckily it wasn’t a show that heavily relied upon lights, but….really?! Parking really can’t be helped but it took us 2 hours to get out of the parking structure directly across the street from the Palace and with limited places to pay our ticket to use the auto attendant people seem to have skipped that step. Instead a shady valet running the automated ticket machine had a handful of cash, he even tried to get another $5 out of me. I grumpily declined and he swiftly opened the gate. I’ll seek other parking next time.

    Amazing show!

by Claudia on 3/26/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

David Cross did not let us down. He kept us laughing with his comedy, making fun political remarks through out the show. The opener was great too! Awesome venue as well.

My first comedy show at Vanburen

by Arod on 3/24/23The Van Buren - Phoenix

Seeing David Cross was awesome funny guy and the comedian before him was good too. I’ve never been to comedy show at Vanburen. I wasn’t too impressed with seating. The lighting on the stage was terrible as it made it hard to see the comedians face expressions. I absolutely love the Vanburen for concerts but I’m not sure about comedy show. Minor adjustments and it would be just as amazing. Oh! I could here all the people in the bar area talking! Sometimes it was awful because you could barely hear the comedian.

Better than expected, not the biggest fan before the show. Cross didn't blue it, glad I gave him a new start.

I've seen most of David Cross's tours, either IRL or taped, and this is his BEST YET. I wish I could see it again and again! Please tell me this will be a Netflix special!

    Political rant

by Cupcake on 3/6/23Neptune Theatre - Seattle

Kind of funny at first, but then just went on an angry liberal atheist rant. I’m an angry liberal, too. And agnostic. I wasn’t offended by anything. It just had nothing to do with humor anymore. If I wanted to go into a political rant, I would go to a political rant. If he can make this stuff funny, I’m in. Also, the Neptune had us in chairs for $90 that were packed in so tight, there was no isle to get to your seat. Weird and uncomfortable. But my stars are just reviewing David cross here.

    Don’t waste your money

    by B on 3/6/23Neptune Theatre - Seattle

David Cross needs to redo his entire set. it just was not funny at all. He tried to be edgy, but because the jokes just weren’t there, it came off as repulsive. I left 1/3rd of the way through, but lasted longer than quite a few people that left before me. I kept hoping it would get funny, but it just kept getting dark and without jokes that worked, it just wasn’t fun to watch or funny. Afterwards I found out my friend’s friend, who is a big fan and has seen him a lot, also went to the same venue and said she hated his performance as well. Redo your entire set David, this one is not working

    Coldplay was unforgettable!!!

by ThaDocta on 11/5/18The Lyric Theatre - Birmingham

I'm a huge fan of anything David Cross does, especially Todd Margaret. I'm not political in the slightest, so I was a little concerned that his set would go right over my head. What ended up happening was one of the funniest comedy sets I've ever scene. I was in tears most of the night. When he inevitably went on his Trump rant towards the end, it was absolutely hilarious!

    Strange, disturbing, HILARIOUS

by BLett on 11/5/18The Lyric Theatre - Birmingham

David cross has always been the kind of comic that can make you laugh about any subject. He is quirky and genius in ways that people don’t expect. He was always my favorite on arrested development, and proved he can do way more than just be a never nude. “There are dozens of us! Dozens!!”

by PuddinClamhammer on 11/4/18U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre - Knoxville

Puddin thought the sound in the theatre was great. David Cross made Puddin laugh for 2 hours. Puddin gives the night a P+. The P is for Puddin.

    Muy Funny

by skanksquaw on 8/21/18Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

We've been waiting for David Cross to come to So Cal for years. Loved both him and Bob Odenkirk when they wrote/performed in Mr. Show, so we were thrilled to see Odenkirk open the show for him. David Cross did not disappoint. His bits about parenthood, the absurdity of couples colonics, ranting about the state of our country, Trump, and some barbs about Santa Monica while he was at it, exemplified what a good writer/story teller he is. He was worth the wait. I'll also give a shout out to the Orpheum... what a killer theater! We got there early and found drinks elsewhere because we didn't know they had a bar and food. When we walked in we were surprised to see such a nice set up. We split a carne asada quesadilla ( with good guacamole and salsa) and it was delicious - no plastic cheese or canned jalapenos! They even allow guests to take food/drinks into the theater and the seats have cup holders!!! Fantastic!.
