About

DAVE KOZ IN CONCERT:

When Dave Koz takes the stage, all is quiet as the audience intently listens to every pure note from the seasoned saxophonist. Playing both tenor and alto sax, his fingers glide across the instrument with an ease that can't be matched. Whether he's performing chart-topping hits like "Life In the Fast Lane" and "Put the Top Down" or launching into an epic solo, Koz's grace on the woodwind instrument is exceptional, full of trills, thrills, and spontaneity during his hit-filled set lists. Dave Koz returns to the stage in 2014 for his upcoming Summer Horns tour as well as a string of highly anticipated shows with Barry Manilow.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Starting out in his high school's jazz band, Dave Koz fell in love with the saxophone early on, deciding to pursue music full time after graduating from college. He landed on tour with Bobby Caldwell not long after and served as a studio musician in the '80s before launching his breakout solo career. Since then, Koz has released 15 studio albums — eight of which have reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Jazz chart — and four No. 1 jazz singles. Not only is the nine-time Grammy nominee a sensational saxophonist, but he's also a radio personality, television host, and philanthropist, serving as a Global Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Koz will delight fans with his smooth jazz sounds on his upcoming tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

This was by far the best concert I have ever attended! A spectacular display of outstanding talent. It was clear that Dave Koz and Friends were having a blast which overflowed out to us in the audience. The show was close to two hours and I didn't want it to end. This was my first concert at the State Theater - Fantastic venue. I hope they bring this show back next year, if so, I will definitely attend! It was awesome! Hey, what about this group coming back for a Holiday tour? Count me in!

I enjoyed the concert immensely and would like to see these artist again as a group or as individuals. Volume was reasonable and seating was fine for the night. Enjoyed the music selection and featuring all of the artist throughout the night to show their special talents.

    by Deacon57 on 6/27/18State Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was absolutely fabulous with Dave Koz, we see him almost every time he comes to the Twin Cities area, he's so good! It was my wife's birthday and I was lucky that a friend got 4 backstage passes to see the musicians, they were so nice especially Dave Koz. We got our picture taken with him, he's such a nice person and talented musician and always brings with him top notch award winning talent when he comes to town! Dave Koz, Gerald Albright, Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, the young talented guitarist, trombone player and band WOW!!!

Summer Horns was absolutely outstanding!!!! I went with a friend whom had never seen the artists and she was just blown away. Of course the venue was perfect and sound quality incredible. It was non-stop upbeat excitement and intensity. Newcomer Aubrey Logan fit right in with the veterans and Adam Hawley carried his weight as well. The rest of the band brought it all together with their sweet, solid, effervescent and funky presence. The concert seemed to last longer than it was due to it's wonderful rhythm, pace and variety. So in short, I would , without a doubt do it again and again as well as recommend it to anyone !!!!

Loved Pieces of a Dream, I didn't they were going to be there. Only the lines to get in could have been better. Maybe thoses that didn't have coolers could have gone to a faster line.

  • Awesome

  • Dave Koz never disappoints

by Cynthia on 6/26/18Wolf Creek Amphitheater - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Dave Koz and friends were really good. I really enjoyed the show. I had not seen Pieces of A Dream in a while but they were just as good as I remember. My only complaint would be paying for parking. Prior to Live Nation parking was free. I tried to get parking and it said parking was sold out; however, there was not a huge crowd at the concert so it's doubtful parking was sold out.

  • Awesome entertainers.

by Overtime on 6/26/18Wolf Creek Amphitheater - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely FANTASTIC!!! What a wonderful night. All were great, Dave Koz, Richard Elliott, Gerald Albright, Rick Braun and above all, a FEMALE on trombone.

  • Summer Horns was outstanding"

by JJAGold on 6/26/18Wolf Creek Amphitheater - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The actual Summer Horns concert was excellent. The Pieces of a Deam opening act was extremely loud and difficult to listen to. The DJ and croud warm up was terrible, eardrum shattering and very unpleasant. Tickets indicated show started at 7 PM, but Summer Horns didn't start until about 9 PM.

  • Excellent Show!

by TGUNN on 6/26/18Wolf Creek Amphitheater - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

OMG..What a collaboration...to have Gerald Albright, Richard Elliott, Rick Braun, Aubrey Logan and Dave were unbelieveble...What a show! This is a "must see" show for all horn/ jazz lovers.

  • An Unbelievable Night

I have seen Dave Koz and some of his friends many times of the past 10 years. Each year his show just keeps getting better and the Summer Horns tour was absolutely amazing. The venue - Wolf Creek Amphitheatre was wonderful. I will definitely go back to Wolf Creek and will always go back to see Dave Koz wherever he plays.

  • I would pay again to see this concert!!

It was a great show. I like the set-up at Wolfe Creek better than Chastain Park especially for 'lawn seats.
