About

DAVE KOZ IN CONCERT:

When Dave Koz takes the stage, all is quiet as the audience intently listens to every pure note from the seasoned saxophonist. Playing both tenor and alto sax, his fingers glide across the instrument with an ease that can't be matched. Whether he's performing chart-topping hits like "Life In the Fast Lane" and "Put the Top Down" or launching into an epic solo, Koz's grace on the woodwind instrument is exceptional, full of trills, thrills, and spontaneity during his hit-filled set lists. Dave Koz returns to the stage in 2014 for his upcoming Summer Horns tour as well as a string of highly anticipated shows with Barry Manilow.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Starting out in his high school's jazz band, Dave Koz fell in love with the saxophone early on, deciding to pursue music full time after graduating from college. He landed on tour with Bobby Caldwell not long after and served as a studio musician in the '80s before launching his breakout solo career. Since then, Koz has released 15 studio albums — eight of which have reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Jazz chart — and four No. 1 jazz singles. Not only is the nine-time Grammy nominee a sensational saxophonist, but he's also a radio personality, television host, and philanthropist, serving as a Global Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Koz will delight fans with his smooth jazz sounds on his upcoming tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

When I say that they played all types of music they did from Duke Ellington to up Stevie Wonder. This was more than I could have asked for. I am telling you, when they come to your town GO you will not be disappointed.

We really enjoyed the concert. We are familiar with the work of each artist, but hearing them live was so much better. It was an amazing concert we will never forget!

Show was phenomenal. Parking was bad but the entertainment made up for the inconvenience. Missed and hour of the show because of parking.

  • A must see performance

It was an amazing sold out show at the Meyerson!!!

  • Best Horn show EVER

by Theresadoc on 8/7/18Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

The show was high energy, multi-layered and wonderfully arranged. Koz was amazing, the center of the earth, during this show. I love the multi dimensional Dave Koz. Aubrey Logan has a phenomenal voice and great trombone player. I wish I could remember the young guitarist's name. I hear him on Watercolors and I liked him, but now I love him. He will evolve to be even better with the support of all of these fine musicians. Albright, Braun and of course Elliot also shown bright. Only drawback was the beginning of the show when the percussion over powered the horns but that was quickly fixed. Go see this show, you wont be sorry.

  • Dave Koz was magnificent

This concert was so lively and upbeat! I enjoyed everyone’s performance and the ability they had to have the audience involved. Loved the energy, Loved the music!!

  • Loved the show

by SugieD on 8/7/18Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Dave Koz was amazing. He had the best line-up of other players: Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, Gerald Albright and Aubrey Logan was fantastic. They rocked so hard. Dave allows everyone equal status and time to shine with great generosity. Everyone really jammed and the Meyerson was electric.

  • Great show... mix could have been so much better.

    by TSTX06 on 8/7/18Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Spectacular venue. Great seats. Lots of energy. Great artists. Great music. All overpowered by level of the drummer. Could hardly hear the music. Really a shame to do to these incredible jazz legends.

  • Best Show Ever

by Anonymous on 8/7/18Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing show, each performer was great on their own but together it was a real treat. Dallas does not have a smooth jazz radio station and this sold out show proves that smooth jazz is missed and Dallas need more events like this.

  • Koz Summer Horns 2

by Bibby on 8/7/18Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Rick Brains arrangements phenomenal! Albright, smooth as silk, Elliot, smoking hot, Koz, LIT, We recognized the drummer from the Smooth Jazz Cruise, dynamite, keyboards, electric, the young man from Dallas who did solo, awesome, other guitarist, magical and while I am not good with names, the beautiful and dynamic trombone player was like the finest of wines. We are still talking about this fantastic group of nine on social media. SEE IT!

  • Clash of the horns

    by GroverJ1878 on 8/7/18Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Not my favorite concert. It was so distracting having so many people on stage playing at one time. However, the venue was nice.

  • All that jazz

    by Foodie101 on 8/7/18Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

Dave Koz and friends put on a great show. Found out about it at the last minute and got some of the last seats in the house but were very happy we could still get in. The fact that they sold the place out (not to worry, there isn't a bad seat in the Myerson) tells me Dallas is more than ready for more smooth jazz. Bring it!

  • Spectacular Performance!

The show was outstanding! Enjoyed every artist! Outstanding performance by Gerald Albright, Dave Coz, Richard Elliot! Looking forward to the next one #Summerhorns!
