Dave Chappelle Live Performance and Tour
Dave Chappelle, mastermind behind sketch comedy goldmine Chappelle's Show, made a triumphant return to stand-up comedy in 2013. While he's beloved for his famous impersonations of Rick James and Prince, Chappelle doesn't rely on old material for his stand-up act, treating fans to an all-original show featuring extensive improvisation as he interacts with audiences. At his 2013 performances on The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, which he co-headlined with Flight of the Conchords, Chappelle had fans rolling on the floor, building anticipation for his highly coveted 2014 tour dates.

Born David Khari Webber Chappelle in Washington, D.C., Dave Chappelle studied theatre arts in high school before moving to New York City to pursue standup comedy. Despite getting booed off stage at the Apollo Theater's infamous "Amateur Night," he remained resilient, going on to make a name for himself on the New York comedy circuit. Following several successful film appearances in the '90s, including a starring role in 1998 cult classic Half Baked, Chappelle debuted his namesake sketch comedy show on Comedy Central in 2003, finding both critical and commercial success. In 2006 he released Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a concert film set in Brooklyn featuring performances by Kanye West, The Roots, and a temporarily-reunited Fugees.

My worst nightmare was of him coming out high and forgetting jokes or just losing it on stage but that was not the case. I was crying the entire show. It was good ol' Dave, voices, weed references , and all. Best comedy show I've seen with a guess star: David Spade(who was hilarious) .

I enjoyed the show but if you don't have an open mind it isn't for you! He says what he thinks and it could hurt someone's feelings! All topics are fair game at his show. If you can laugh at everything and don't wear your feelings on your sleeve it truly is funny! We laughed and laughed!

Did jokes about current events and his personal life, still funny, special guest David Spade opened for him (He was in NOLA shooting a movie) we were all surprised, he was good as well. Well worth it!
Dave was awesome and I would see him again! He never used old material and I wished he could have stayed on stage a little longer!
I wasn't sure what to expect with most reviews positive, but some were on the negative side...let me tell you Dave was HILARIOUS!!!! The best comedy show I have ever seen, and I saw him years ago when he came to New Orleans. Don't think twice, buy the tickets!!!
Great performance. Everything I was hoping for and more following Dave chapelle's return to comedy. His jokes were original, funny, and his delivery is unparalleled.
Awesome show. Chappelle is a master of keeping it fresh and funny. Special guest was David Spade. His standup is not bad. Overall, show was very funny and worth every penny.
I really enjoyed Dave Chappelle. And I'm glad that the audience was mature enough to follow the rules about heckling and photos/videos. I enjoyed the David Spade surprise also.
My husband, who initially did not want to go, thanked me for getting the tickets. He was hilarious from start to finish.

The whole show was fun from start to finish. We were worried because we haven't seen his standup in a while but he was on point. Good show, definitely recommend.

The show was awesome from the opening act to Hannibal burress coming on stage and then save completely ripping it! I have always been a huge chapelle fan and when I got the opportunity to see him Alive I was stoked! The seats in the theatre were kinda close for my liking. I'm a body builder and it was a tad uncomfortable sitting so close to people on both sides, figuring out who's armrest I would steal/use (coughs)! Lol
Opening act, although I don't remember his name, did a great job. Next act was introduced as someone who looked just like Joe Dirt, which was non other than David Spade himself. His appearance was unexpected. He was very funny. Next was Dave Chappelle. I thought Dave did an outstanding job. He has a naturalness about him that can't be matched. The reason for only 4 stars is because I thought his act was short in comparison to other comedians I've seen.
The show was absolutely amazing. Non-stop laughter throughout the entire set. He did not let anyone down. Covered a wide range of topics and there were no jokes that I'd heard before. He played off of world events as well as personal experiences and left no stone un-laughed at. If you ever get the opportunity to catch him live then make certain that you do so. You won't regret it at all!!!
Dave was ROFLMAO funny as usual. The opening acts, Mo and especially Hannibal Burras (sp) were funny too.
The two opening comics were good--especially Hannibal Burress, who tailored his set to the New Orleans audience. The DJ who played between sets was a nice touch. Chapelle's set was more heavy and political than I would have liked, but overall, he was very funny. I was a big fan of his TV show, and it was good to see him performing again.
