Dave Attell, the legendary stand-up comedian's, new Netflix Comedy Special HOT CROSS BUNS premiered in March to huge numbers and rave reviews. He is best known as the host of Comedy Central's INSOMNIAC WITH DAVE ATTELL, which gave him a cult following. He can next be seen in the Hulu series LIFE & BETH alongside Amy Schumer, Michael Rapaport, and Michael Cera. He can also be seen on BUMPING MICS with Jeff Ross, currently streaming on Netflix, and HBO's CRASHING with Pete Holmes. His series DAVE'S OLD PORN ran for 2 seasons on Showtime, and his stand up series, DAVE ATTELL'S COMEDY UNDERGROUND, and his one hour special, ROAD WORK, were featured on Comedy Central. ROAD WORK is currently streaming on Paramount+.
His film credits include Chris Rock's cult film, POOTIE TANG, FUNNY PEOPLE, SCARY MOVIE 4, and LOS ENCHILADAS and in the Amy Schumer films TRAINWRECK and I FEEL PRETTY. His television credits include, THE SIMPSONS, DIFFICULT PEOPLE, BOB'S BURGERS, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, THE JIM GAFFIGAN SHOW, THE JIM NORTON SHOW, INSIDE AMY SCHUMER, LOUIE, ED, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, and TOUGH CROWD WITH COLIN QUINN. He was named one of the "25 Funniest People in America" by Entertainment Weekly Magazine. When not on the road, Attell makes regular appearances at the Comedy Cellar in New York City.
I had seen him a long time ago and he was much better. The show was only 1 hour long with opening act. So you got Dave for maybe 45 minutes. He was basically out of material after 30 minutes and brought the opener back on stage for the last 15 to 20 minutes of his show. Disappointed in that. Probably will not spend money to see him again.
Nonstop laughter for more than an hour. Don't miss him.
Took my brother to see Dave Attell for his birthday. We laughed so hard. The improvised bits in which Dave roasted the audience was hilarious. His chemistry with his opener was great, too.
Listen to a few of his older specials and albums. If you like them at all, good news, he keeps getting funnier. I don't know if there's overlap from his recent special Hot Cross Buns, but after this show, it wouldn't matter. Dave is unstoppable
His set is truly a work of art! Dave is a legend in the comedy world, he is a comedian for comedians!
I was so excited for this event. However, it was a bit of a letdown. It was funny for the first 20ish minutes but when he brought the opening acts back on stage, the energy shifted and it was downhill from there. Just not very funny. Definitely hoped for more.
I was very disappointed in the Dave Attell performance. Completely (twisted) Adult themed, I found very little to laugh at. Going to see a comedian should be a respite from real life, a time to laugh, a time to set aside our worries and be transported to an evening of good humor. Dave Attell acted like he didn't want to be there...almost like we were putting him out. His jokes were mostly crude and in poor taste, while other jokes were so confusing, I felt like he was talking about things that I had no knowledge of. Often, during his show, my Husband and I would look to one another hoping the other could explain what he was talking about, but, we'd just shrug. Shouldn't he at least talk about things we can understand?
Dave was so funny. I had tears haven’t laughed like that in a long time.
Dave was on fire this evening. Almost all of the set was original material. Each show is a different experience for each audience. Comedic royalty!!
It was great, Dave was a real pro! Played on the way out and won some money! 10 outta 10.
