About

Hall & Oates in Concert

Pop rock legends Hall & Oates blended R&B, soul, and new wave influences to fabulous effect in the '80s, resulting in some of the decade's most iconic and beloved songs. Oozing with originality and craftsmanship, No. 1 hits like "Maneater" and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" sound as fresh today as they did 30 years ago, eliciting collective swoons from audiences at their 2013 live concerts. With an induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, the boys have remained in peak form, treating audiences around the US to a string of highly anticipated concerts since then.

Fans who bought tickets say:

"Just another Hall & Oates show....FRIGGN AWESOME! Those guys blew it out like they always do. Can't wait for the next one."

"H & O are just as animated as they were 20 years ago! Exploding on the stage playing a great variety of fan favorites."

"Loved it all. 2 encores and ending with Private Eyes - AWESOME!!"

Hall & Oates Background

After meeting at Philadelphia's Temple University in the late '60s, Daryl Hall and John Oates left their respective bands and joined forces as a duo, releasing Whole Oats, their first record as Hall & Oates, in 1972. Following relatively moderate success in the '70s, the band hit their stride in 1980 with Voices, which contained their first No. 1 single "Kiss on My List." 1981 follow-up Private Eyes was an even bigger success, spawning two No. 1 singles and kicking off one of the most impressive chart runs of the '80s. Named the No. 1 duo of all time by Billboard Magazine, Hall & Oates continue to perform and record, making their much-deserved entry into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

    Hall & Oates

by Sadly Disappointed on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

The venue was set up nicely, the weather was awesome, and we had very good seats. Unfortunately, that's about all I can say that's positive about this experience. The show started late, the sound system glitched all over the place and the vocals were out of tune most of the time. The sax player, we think, had the reed on backwards during his solo and had to fix it mid song. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this was one show, and you'd think they would have been better prepared to perform at their best. We love their music, but people were walking out of the concert. I think they should stay home, sit in their recliners and watch old concerts and be grateful for the long run they had. I'm old, too, but it was just sad. We played their music all the way home to remember how good they used to be. It's time to hang it up.

    They still have “It”

by Denise P on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

The evening was beautiful. Nice venue. Except for the videographer standing elevated on a platform blocking our view of John and Charlie most of the time. Still, the music was worth it. Great energy from all the band members. And Daryl…damn!!! You still got it.

    Great performance-venue was terrible

by Hall and Oates fan on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

This was my 5th Daryl Hall and John Oates concert since 2018. I thought the performance was the best that I had experienced. Daryl and John’s voices were great! The band was remarkable and tight. I thought the sound was good. Unfortunately the venue was not good. There was not enough elevation between rows to see over the person in front of me. I felt that venue had a bad design. I won’t go there again.

    Parking issues

by Mom Boss on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

The concert was very good. Unfortunately, they did not play the one song I wanted to hear. The venue is O.K. The Nugget needs to offer an option for concert ticket holders to purchase VIP parking in one of the lots closer to the venue with a security patrol. That was an option at that venue last year when we saw Toby Keith. Not this time. Hubby enjoyed the band very much.

    Love Hall & Oates

by Tazzi on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

I love the music that these two have given us for all these years. If you went to the show just to pay tribute to them and show them how much you love them, then 5 stars. If you have never seen them before and you went to hear good music, 1 star. The band was good but Daryl (at least this night) can't sing anymore (very sad) and it appears he knows. In the way he talked lyrics and let the bands harmonies and background attempt to cover up his vocals. I feel if this is the Daryl Hall of the rest of the tour, there should be a disclaimer. Sorry for the overall bad review :(

    Expectations dashed

by Sad on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

Daryl seemed to have vocal problems. Often rambling, talking through. Vocals / lyrics incomplete. Songs had different feel. Band often went into jam session mode, although great musicians individually, of a garage band progressing on until the next queue. Not tight.

    Bleachers

by SueP on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

Loved the concert! Such joy! Nugget Event Center.: Outdoor venue, no notice in advertisement. Seats in section 302 were bleachers!!! No notice of that while purchasing tickets. Filthy porta-potties.

    Hall and oates

by Kiki on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

The venue was way too quiet . No opening music, just quiet. Would have been nice to at least have some dj, or mixed music. It was like going into a morgue

    Intimate show

by Sara Smile on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

I’ve always wanted to see Hall and Oates and was so happy I got the chance. The merchandise lines and drink lines were near the entrance so when walking in it felt super tight. I wish the screens had been a little bigger, so that I could see the performers better from the 300 section. There was also so sound issues. Overall great show though!

    Terrible performance

by B on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

The band was terrible, which is sad to say as they have been my favorite for decades. Hall and Oates need to stop charging people for concerns they can no longer perform. It's an embarrassment to their life's work. Great venue though.

    Great show!

by Susan on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

Well the artists are living legends and amazing to see, had some issue with the tm app saying I did not have an event that night, so I had to find a bar code through my email with weak internet. Someone helped to upgrade which I thought was not possible but gave it a shot anyway which was much appreciated and 0 problems with that.

    Highs and Lows

by Jax on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

Given their ages the performance was great. Started a little late, pretty common. Ended after only an hour and forty five minutes. No encore. The event center is nice. Didn't know we were going to be on bleachers. Would have brought a cushion. Cost of refreshments wasn't as bad as some venues. It was a pleasant evening, not Epic.

    WOW SO BAAAD

by Rdobbin on 10/23/22Nugget Event Center - Sparks

There are few words to describe how horrible the Daryl Hall/John Oates concert was. Sound was bad, vocals way out of tune - so bad at times you could not identify the song. Both lead singers have no vocal range any more. They came off as totally unrehearsed. It was like the show had been thrown together at the last minute. We basically laughed out loud the entire concert. Sad for fans since tickets were so expensive. Add to all this: No opening act, and band performed only for about 1 hour 15 minutes. I drove 7 hours one way to see this. A rip-off.
