  • 25 minutes of Elfman on stage

by Railroadjas on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 3 out of 5

If you want to see the scores from the Tim Burton movies, this is a great show. If you want to see Danny Elfman on stage from beginning to end, this is not the show. He was on stage for the Nightmare portion and that was it. The choir and orchestra are all great and loaded with talent, I just wanted to see more Elfman.

  • i want more Danny Elfman!

It was such a thrill for my 8 year old daughter to meet the voice of her favorite singing character " Jack Skellington " as Danny Elfman performed the songs from "Nightmare before Christmas"! I myself have followed Danny and Tim in this 29 year journey of fabulous music and cinema and it was a pleasure to see and hear the music being played live!

  • A must see!

by Mindles on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

If you are a fan of Danny Elfman's music this is a must see show. The Hollywood Symphony did a fantastic job. My six year son loved ever minute of the show and so did I. Seeing Danny Elfman bring the songs from Nightmare Before Christmas to life was amazing. He is a one of a kind composer and with the visuals from Tim Burton's movies on the screen made for an amazing experience.

  • Seriously amazing!

I saw this show last year and just had to go again this year. Danny Elfman and Tim Burton have done some amazing work and this show highlights it with Danny Elfman's music paired with scenes from Tim Burton's films on a giant screen behind the orchestra. The highlight for me was when Danny Elfman came out and sang songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas. It was pure joy for me and I got chills many times as I watched and listened to him sing. I would highly recommend this show to everyone... you won't be disappointed!

  • Danny Elfman!

The show was awesome! Danny Elfman is so talented! I loved the Nightmare Before Christmas songs. The little boy who sang for Alice in Wonderland was absolutely amazing!!

  • SHOW WAS THE BEST

    by 101214 on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

at times I forgot that I was listening to a symphony. Sounded so good, and clear. Choir was outstanding and the song selection was perfect. Only wish it had ended with either Nightmare or Beetlejuice, for my own reasons.

  • Loved the Music from Tim Burton Films!

    by KimW67 on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 4 out of 5

I really loved this show. I took my 16 year old daughter, and she loved it too. We love Tim Burton's movies. Seeing this show makes me want to go back and watch them all again. The orchestra was fantastic, and it was really cool to find out that most of the artists played on the music from the actual movies. Watching Danny sing songs from the Nightmare Before Christmas was great - took me back to high school, and the Oingo Boingo concerts. : )

  • Biased but an amazing night regardless

by Ekoldr on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Yes. I am a Danny Elfman uber nerd. Yes. I am a Tim Burton Uber nerd. So knowing that my review will be slightly biased. However, the sheer talent, effort and love that clearly went into making this production a reality did not go unnoticed nor unappreciated. This was not some hodge podge "lets throw this together because we can make a little bit of money" show, no it was not. Danny and Tim fans are a breed of our own as many will tell you and expect something a little different than your average concert. This brings me back to my initial point. The production team and I'm sure Danny know their audience and delivered with flying colors. Everything from the volume of the music (not too loud but certainly loud enough), to the ambiance of the venue (did not feel like I was watching from a stadium [apart from the seat]), to the crowd (frighteningly adorable, un-waveringly loyal, and by far the most unique gathering of people you will ever meet), to the lines at the bar (i got a beer in less than 2 minutes. LESS THAN 2 MINUTES!! In conclusion. if you were not either a Danny Elfman or at the very least Tim Burton fan you most likely did not enjoy the show. Then again. It wasn't for you in the first place.

  • Elfman is the man

by Collardgrn on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

A great evening overall. The orchestra was wonderful to listen to and its always fun to see Tim Burton's sketches & then see how it was translated to the movie. This duo has done so many movies together & each time a new one came up on the big screen you say 'oh yeah, I loved this one too. The best part of course is when Danny Elfman comes on stage & does a few numbers from Nightmare. He is amazing still and rocks the house.

  • Danny Elfma's Music from the films of Tim Burton

by Gorygurl on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

AMAZING!!! Second year in a row and I can't believe this year could possibly be any better than last, but it was! Danny is definitely in his element! SO NICE to see him back, performing LIVE! Been a HUGE Oingo Boingo fan since the 80's, so besides loving Tim Burton, his creativity, his films and his amazing imagination, the HUGE draw for me going to see this event was, of course, Danny Elfman. The Orchestra was thrilling and just beautiful! And last, but surely not least, Conductor, Mr. John Mauceri is just fantastic, whimsical and charming. Love that he participates in the act and it's apparent that he thoroughly enjoys conducting Mr. Elfman's scores. He's also quite handsome! :) Already dreaming of going back next year!

  • Sweeeet!

by LinnyALou on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

The evening was fantastic. Not only did we have a full scale orchestra, choir, and background movie screen, Danny Elfman was there! Many standing ovations and it was thrilling to see how happy Danny looked, appreciating the evening and all of us there to share in it with him.

  • Danny elfman is a genius.

This show was simply amazing. The music sounded great and the performers were spectacular. I hope this show returns next year because I would love to see it again. Danny Elfmans performance was wonderful.

  • Danny Elfman NEVER disappoints!!

by MaSamples on 11/5/14Honda Center - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

Music stand alone was beautifully played by The Hollywood Symphony Orchestra & sung perfectly by the Choir. Maestro Mauceri guided it all gorgeously. The special performance by Danny Elfman himself was amazing! Watching Jack Skellington sing in person was a moment I will never forget.

  • Awesome performance!
