About

Daniel Donato's own musical frequency was tuned at a young age while growing up in Nashville. At just 14 he start busking on Music City's lower Broadway for eight hours at a time. After giving his card to the leader of the Robert's Western World house band every weekend for three years, he finally had an opportunity to sit in. 464 shows later, Donato honed his skill and learned stagecraft. After a high school history teacher gave him a pile of Grateful Dead bootleg recordings when he was 18, the stage was set for what would eventually become Donato's vision, Cosmic Country. Since then, the guitar virtuoso, singer, songwriter and bandleader has released two acclaimed albums, the latest being 2023's celebrated Reflector and has been tearing it up on the road playing over 200 show per year. Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country has played to sold-out crowds from coast to coast and garnered a passionate and rapidly expanding fanbase.

  • Awe-mazing Jammin in St Louis

by The Doc on 11/6/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Daniel Donato and band have been on my list to see for a while. Finally my schedule worked when they were in St Louis last week. That is one of the best shows I have seen all year! The jamming was amazing, especially when Daniel and his keys, Nathan, were in sync for those long jams. Truly a gift to us. Thank you!! I have not traveled to see many bands due to adult life obligations but I must hear them live again, SOON!

  • Mind blown

I haven’t been so transported since the last time I saw Billy Strings. From me, that’s the highest of compliments.

  • Great show terrible sound

by Snugglez on 4/24/23Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium - SpartanburgRating: 5 out of 5

The show that daniel put on was one of the best i have ever seen. im a 20 year live music vet trust me you dont want to miss this show. All that being said, the venue was garbage stop booking shows downstairs at this venue or hire some sound engineers to fix your setup because it almost ruined a top notch show for us

  • Awesome!!

  • Great night with great music

by Jeff on 3/10/23Garcia's at The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

This band is amazing. Ever single member performed beyond my expectations. From the sweet guitar riffs to the mind boggling keyboard solos and to finish it off with that stand up bass. Only down side was they didn’t play the main stage

  • Never heard of Daniel Donato before, but a follower now

    by Mike S on 3/9/23XL Live - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

Having a very nice venue (XL Live in Harrisburg, Pa) has given us the opportunity to branch out from our "normal" music genres. One of the biggest, most pleasant surprise was Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country. They had us on the first song and the crowd was on their feet dancing right up to the end of their performance, about two hours beyond the normal conclusion of other performers. The crowd was very diverse in every way, and all were caught up in the music. My 70 something wife said she has a new favorite group, and I do too at 75. I have "followed" the band on the internet and we will definitely be attending more of their performances.

  • Life Changing

by TK on 3/7/23XL Live - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

Most unforgettable experience I’ve ever had in my life. The entire band was amazing, and the dance in the desert/horse with no name jam was my favorite part but the entire show was unbelievable, Keep It Cosmic ✨

  • Killer band

by FlamingoSteve on 3/7/23XL Live - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

All four of these guys are crack musicians, technically skilled and able to improvise in the moment. I’m hoping they can make the bigger jump to bigger venues with reserved seating, because for an older guy like me their 3-hour marathons get to be a challenge for standing that long. But a great great show

  • Great show. Love these guys.

Hottest band on the planet. So much fun live. Sky’s the limit.

This show was amazing! Had a lot of fun and the venue is nice.

  • Saw DDCC open for the Kitchen Dwellers.

    by J. S. 34 on 10/23/22Rating: 5 out of 5

Blown away. Phenomenal guitar by DD. Clean jams and great group vocals. Big things on the horizon for this well balanced group. Can hear many genres and influence. They sure look like they’re having fun!

  • Amazing guitarist and band

by Greg on 7/9/22Garcia's at The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

Daniel Donato is as good as any guitarist out there. His energy, skill and groove are remarkable. Won’t be long before he is a household name. Thanks for coming to NY!

  • Great Show!!

by Scott_w on 5/3/22The Southern Cafe & Music Hall - CharlottesvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Another Daniel D. and Cosmic Country show that exceeded my already high expectations. The energy level from the band was incredible, and as usual musicianship was off the charts.

  • Breathtaking, hair-raising, jaw-dropping— Cosmic Country

    by J. G. on 4/22/22Rating: 5 out of 5

Daniel Donato and his crew know how to put on one heck of a show. Expect a fun night if singing, dancing, and jamming. I will not miss these guys ever if they’re in town, heck, I’ll probably travel to see them when I can. Don’t wait till they’re selling out MSG to see them. The intimacy of the current sets is something you don’t want to miss. YEEHAW!!!

  • A great show

by Kat on 2/22/22Avondale Brewing Co. - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This is a very unique one of a kind show. Song after song always bringing something new. It was a really fun show and the band shows that they enjoy what they do each and every night! Got to meet Daniel after the show, such a humble and nice guy! He made it very clear that he was very thankful for each fan there that night. Also not to mention he can really kill it on the guitar!

  • Daniel Donato

by Bob on 2/22/22Avondale Brewing Co. - BirminghamRating: 3 out of 5

Daniel is a great guitar player but not a great singer. The opener Taylor Hunicutt was fantastic. She can really sing and has a great band backing her up.

  • Great great show. Great great band. Energetic music

by Ann Donato on 4/4/19The Wonder Bar - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Great seeing family and meeting Daniel and band. Can’t wait to see them all again
