Damien Escobar on Tour

World-renowned violinist, author and philanthropist Damien Escobar brings a lifetime of musical talent to the stage in 2022 on his Life Out Loud Tour. He's dazzled audiences worldwide, starting at age 8 as a student at The Julliard School, then as a street musician in New York's Grand Central Station and other locales, all the way to his performance at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama. And now, fans can snag tickets to see this two-time Emmy Award winner and violin virtuoso play his signature blend of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and classical at venues across the United States.

Damien Escobar Live in Concert

Born in the Jamaica, Queens, neighborhood in New York City in 1986, Damien Escobar was destined for a life in music from a tender age. He began playing violin at the age of 8 and showed unparalleled talent as a young musician. By age 10, he began taking weekend classes at The Julliard School as the youngest student ever to be accepted. His brother, Tourie Escobar, was similarly gifted, and the two later studied together at the Bloomingdale School of Music in Manhattan. Around 2003, the two brothers started Nuttin' But Strings and excited audiences by blending classical violin with jazz, R&B and hip-hop. Damien and Tourie gained fame playing in New York hotspots like Grand Central Station and later won a talent night at the Apollo Theater in 2005. The brothers gained momentum as they landed a White House performance for George W. Bush, made it to No. 3 on America's Got Talent in 2008 and later performed at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama in 2009. By 2012, Damien had stopped performing with his brother and earned his real estate license. However, it wasn't long before music called to him again, and Damien finally made his solo debut in 2012. According to Damien, "It all needed to fall apart so I could be forced to grow while putting it back together the right way." And he did put it together the right way because Damien went on to release his first solo album, Sensual Melodies, in 2014, followed by Awaken in 2015, Boundless in 2017, and Songs from a Breakthrough in 2020.

  • Damien Escobar was totally amazing!!

    by Vicki54 on 12/8/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

This was the first time I went to see an artist that I had only heard of once and I was totally mesmerized from beginning to end. I could have set there all night. I will be checking as often as I can to find when he's coming back my way so I can be there. I had great seats too and got to meet the man himself after the show!! My early Christmas present to myself!!

  • OFF THE CHAIN

I found him on YouTube by accident, this cat is the REAL DEAL, hands down one of the best live performance I have ever seen of any artist in my life. His band was great also... One of his quotes from last night, as he shared his personal testimony with us. “Your gifts will open the doors of opportunity; it's our job to remain faithful to the gift"

  • Amazing Experience

by Kimmonique on 12/7/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Damien Escobar took playing the violin to a whole new level. This classically trained violinist transformed the art of playing the violin into an experience that truly vibrates your soul. It was a sweet journey that he allowed his audience to take with him for a couple of hours, and we left loving his spirit and talent even more than we did before the show began. This was my first time ever seeing him perform and I left the theater as more than a fan - I left there as a believer that love does exist and it resides in the way Damien Escobar strokes His violin. Whatever genre of music he decides to play - it truly is a pure and sensual melody.

  • Damien Escobar - so very talented and personable!

    by gina0 on 12/7/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

4 stars given for the overpowering background music and I think it was due to the sound engineers. 5 stars for Damien Escobar's solo playing and when the keyboard, drums and bass were playing and complemented. I would encourage and recommend everyone that loves a violinist to see him play live. 5 stars for my seat location in the balcony - I loved having the opportunity to see Damien in a smaller venue where I was close enough to see him on stage and the tickets did not break the bank. I enjoyed when he played with the background music at a lower volume because then I could hear all of his notes. At times the background music was too loud and overpowered his performance. However when he had them "bring it down" the sound - the music was transforming and his performance mesmerizing... so I don't think it was my location that caused the distortion of the music. I would see him again in concert...

  • Truly Gifted Artist

by MomNMotion on 12/7/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I came across Damien Escobar earlier this year and I thought his music and talent were amazing. I followed his tour and seized the opportunity to purchase tickets when he was in town. I had the option for a venue in Baltimore or a venue in Wasthington. I chose Washington at the historic Howard Theater. and it was a very nice venue for a truly gifted artist. Great Drinks.

I had waited for months for Damien to return to the DMV so I could attend a show. It was so worth it and I'll be ready for the next one. This young man's talent is amazing!! And, he's humble, too!

This show was AMAZING. He is so talented and passionate about his music. He draws you in with him. I will always attend his show whenever he's in the area. He also has an amazing testimony. It felt like he was making love to you through his music LOL. Love it! He also allowed a very talented violinist from Norfolk State University to open up for him, by the name of the Urban Musician - James Harman, check him out as well.

It was an amazing evening! Damien is an extremely talented and soulful artist. I also am a violinist. His passion and love of his instrument really show . I only wish there'd been a specific area in the Neptune theater for standing and dancing. I work on my feet all day and just wanted to sit and enjoy.

  • Damien Escobar is amazing

by Cathalyn on 11/17/16Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Damien is not just extremely talented and a gifted violinist, but he's authentic, accessible, generous. From his opening song, Freedom, to soul/R&B, a Bach solo, Awaken and Prince's Purple Rain ending, he took his listeners on a musical journey that made everyone in the theater forget the national woes of the previous week. He walked down and played in the audience. He sat and told us of his meteoric rise to fame when he was on 20, the fall that took him years to find his dream again and the joy of doing what he loves vs. just making money at job. I hope I get to hear him many more times and feel so very fortunate that he was able to make it to Seattle. This time it was at the Neptune...next time the Paramount and then Benaroya Hall...I see the venues getting larger and larger, but for now, it felt like he was my friend and was playing at our party.

  • Damien Escobar Seattle

by PMFUGS on 11/17/16Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This tour has sold out in some cities, if you can get tickets in your city be sure to grab them when you see them. I knew what I was going to and was expecting a good show but it was nothing short of phenomenal!!! This event was as long as any other concert or performance I've been to but felt like it flew by. Great interaction with the fans and I felt like when he played he gave you his everything. It was like he was in his happy place, he plays with all his heart and soul and it shows. I will be back to see him anytime he returns to Seattle.
