Damien Escobar on Tour
World-renowned violinist, author and philanthropist Damien Escobar brings a lifetime of musical talent to the stage in 2022 on his Life Out Loud Tour. He's dazzled audiences worldwide, starting at age 8 as a student at The Julliard School, then as a street musician in New York's Grand Central Station and other locales, all the way to his performance at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama. And now, fans can snag tickets to see this two-time Emmy Award winner and violin virtuoso play his signature blend of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and classical at venues across the United States.
Damien Escobar Live in Concert
Born in the Jamaica, Queens, neighborhood in New York City in 1986, Damien Escobar was destined for a life in music from a tender age. He began playing violin at the age of 8 and showed unparalleled talent as a young musician. By age 10, he began taking weekend classes at The Julliard School as the youngest student ever to be accepted. His brother, Tourie Escobar, was similarly gifted, and the two later studied together at the Bloomingdale School of Music in Manhattan. Around 2003, the two brothers started Nuttin' But Strings and excited audiences by blending classical violin with jazz, R&B and hip-hop. Damien and Tourie gained fame playing in New York hotspots like Grand Central Station and later won a talent night at the Apollo Theater in 2005. The brothers gained momentum as they landed a White House performance for George W. Bush, made it to No. 3 on America's Got Talent in 2008 and later performed at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama in 2009. By 2012, Damien had stopped performing with his brother and earned his real estate license. However, it wasn't long before music called to him again, and Damien finally made his solo debut in 2012. According to Damien, "It all needed to fall apart so I could be forced to grow while putting it back together the right way." And he did put it together the right way because Damien went on to release his first solo album, Sensual Melodies, in 2014, followed by Awaken in 2015, Boundless in 2017, and Songs from a Breakthrough in 2020.
He is beyond talented. I would love to see him again, at least once a year. I would definitely save the date.
Damien Escobar gave a fantastic performance at The Wiltern! I was offered a great deal on these tickets so I decided to give it a try. I had not heard of Damien prior to the show. I didn't even bother to look him up. Figured I would go in blind and be surprised. I was! The DJ before the show was amazing. He played great music leading up to the performance and really got everyone in the mood. Then Damien went on and he was just soo talented! A fantastic violinist and an amazing entertainer. He shared stories with the crowd and had people engaged throughout the night. He played his own music, a classical number (AMAZING), and renditions of popular songs by Michael Jackson, Prince and more. He truly gave us a terrific night of fantastic music!
Damien Escobar is a refreshing addition to R&B and Soul music. As a violinist he transformed the audience to appreciate every instrument on the stage without the addition of a turn table. It's definitely an adult experience unless your kids are violinists themselves. Still immature folks in the crowd yelled out comments, chatted, and walked during his classical piece. Typical "LA" crowd in the Wiltern for an R & B artist. Overall, minus the "LA folks" Damien's show was enjoyable. I look forward to more of his original music and well selected "covers" of songs.
I could not stay in my seat. The atmosphere was electric. The crowd did not want the concert to end.
I really did not have any expectations from this concert as I was invited by my sister. I had only heard of Damien Escobar in passing. I was blown away. What an amazing talent. He was accompanied by a great band and he played many soulful hits including his own. I am now a fan. I would definitely go see this same concert anywhere on the planet. Great work Damien Escobar.
Great music. Great vibe. Great audience. Great story teller. Connection with the audience was fantastic. Best night of 2016!!
I enjoyed every moment he was very entertaining and very very talented .
Best sound, crowd, and lighting!!! Damien puts on an outstanding show. You will be delighted!
The unique performance was very good. The music and personal journey story was surprisingly full of inspiration. Everyone left feeling uplifted with a smile. Note- this was only 3 days after the election so that's really saying something about the excellence of Damien's performance. We even stayed for the over an hour wait for the meet and greet.
Damien gave a awesome show. He is amazing and so talented. It was great that he also shared his story and made us part of his journey. I would definitely go see him again. I took my 83 year old mother to the show and she really enjoyed it.
Had an outstanding experience at the Damien Escobar concert this past Friday night at the Wiltern. The event staff totally made the prelude to the actual concert just a memorable as experiencing the immeasurable talent of Mr. Escobar! AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!
It was a great night from a true gentleman! I took my wife she had never heard of him or listened to his music. I can honestly say, I think she is a fan now. I wish I could play violin like that, it's as he's making love to it. Incredible!
It was an awesome night of talent and inspiration ! Thank you Damien the City of Angels love you ! Please come back soon!
I loved the concert. I wanted to last longer. I would absolutely tell more people to come and enjoy the experience. You can tell that he is a gifted talent. He puts his heart into what he does. Can't wait for him to return to Los Angeles.
Damien Escobar's concert just made you feel good! His connection and charisma with the audience was wonderful. If he were here this week I would be front and center again!!!
This concert was so worth going to. I enjoy his music, but him in person, you can feel his soul in the music he plays. If I could go see him again, I wouldn't hesitate. He is a gifted young man!
The concert was amazing when it got started. The late entrance and hour late start needs to be addressed for future performances. The DJ helped to ease the delay waiting period so the wait wasn't as bad as it would have been otherwise. However, Escobar is a must see performer. His energy on stage is remarkable, engaging, entertaining, and very enjoyable. I plan to support future concerts...I would, also, suggest that the volume for the other musicians be adjusted to balance his violin and their instruments better.
This concert touched my soul. The music transports you to another place. It's clear this man is gifted. If it's very evident that this music is his life's breath! When he preforms, you can literally see the music coming from deep inside of him. If he plays again near me, I would pay to see him again!!
Excellent show. Very humbling. Can't wait for him to come back to Los Angeles. And his arms are BEAUTIFUL!
I purchased tickets for me and my two teenage grandsons; couldn't believe that two generations could enjoy a concert so much! From sixty to thirteen, we were jamming all night! I'm totally impressed by his sincerity, graciousness and of course, out of this world talent! Can't wait for him to return!
