Damien Escobar on Tour

World-renowned violinist, author and philanthropist Damien Escobar brings a lifetime of musical talent to the stage in 2022 on his Life Out Loud Tour. He's dazzled audiences worldwide, starting at age 8 as a student at The Julliard School, then as a street musician in New York's Grand Central Station and other locales, all the way to his performance at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama. And now, fans can snag tickets to see this two-time Emmy Award winner and violin virtuoso play his signature blend of jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and classical at venues across the United States.

Damien Escobar Live in Concert

Born in the Jamaica, Queens, neighborhood in New York City in 1986, Damien Escobar was destined for a life in music from a tender age. He began playing violin at the age of 8 and showed unparalleled talent as a young musician. By age 10, he began taking weekend classes at The Julliard School as the youngest student ever to be accepted. His brother, Tourie Escobar, was similarly gifted, and the two later studied together at the Bloomingdale School of Music in Manhattan. Around 2003, the two brothers started Nuttin' But Strings and excited audiences by blending classical violin with jazz, R&B and hip-hop. Damien and Tourie gained fame playing in New York hotspots like Grand Central Station and later won a talent night at the Apollo Theater in 2005. The brothers gained momentum as they landed a White House performance for George W. Bush, made it to No. 3 on America's Got Talent in 2008 and later performed at the inauguration of former President Barack Obama in 2009. By 2012, Damien had stopped performing with his brother and earned his real estate license. However, it wasn't long before music called to him again, and Damien finally made his solo debut in 2012. According to Damien, "It all needed to fall apart so I could be forced to grow while putting it back together the right way." And he did put it together the right way because Damien went on to release his first solo album, Sensual Melodies, in 2014, followed by Awaken in 2015, Boundless in 2017, and Songs from a Breakthrough in 2020.

Damien gives an awesome show and it was way more than expected! I surprised a friend of mine with the show as well and she enjoyed it thoroughly too! We both left thirsty for more! Not only is he "hot" but he just gives a great show! So glad I was able to see him!

  • Amazingly Talented

Damien Escobar is an exceptional artist. The music and atmosphere was amazing. My favorite moment when he played Call Tyrone and some of the songs off the Boundless album. This show was definitely worth the flight.

  • Damien brings a NEW meaning to violinists!

by amays63 on 5/15/17House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

I loved this show. Damien is quite the talented violinist with lightning fast fingers. The band was tight too! Great sound for 4 pieces counting Damien! If I had one complaint, it was that the sound man could have done a better job. I would have preferred to have Damien's violin a little louder. There were some instances where the soundman didn't turn up the violin sound until a few bars after Damien started playing!

  • Damien is an angel with a violin!!!

The show was awesome! I had purchased tickets early, but had to leave town a few days before the show. Thought I was going to miss it; but after some additional thought, I hustled back to Houston to catch the show. Man, am I glad I did! Best concert I've attended in a very long time! Hoping to see him again here in Houston very soon!

  • Great Show and Encouraging

by DeaRu on 1/19/17Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Damien Escobar was great and very talented. He was very personable and shared his life experiences. He encouraged people to step out the box and not be stereotypical. His band was great as well. He does not need an opening act. I was not impress by the young lady that opened for him. I would see him again!!!

I don't go to concerts often but when I found out Damien was going to be in Jacksonville, I was going even if I had to go by myself. Lol I wasn't sure what to expect from a violin concert but Damien was amazing, I didn't want it to end. I would pay to see him again!

More talking than playing. If you want to learn all about his struggles, you will enjoy the show.

  • Violin Magic

by LakeLady17 on 1/15/17Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 4 out of 5

The talent of this young man is extraordinaire. However, the amount of concert time dedicated to handing out roses and photo opt'ing was frustrating.

  • Damien Escobar Could have been better

    by Keegan69 on 12/13/16Royale Night Club - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Doors opened at 7PM, Concert began at 8:15PM and finished at ~9:40PM. There were no opening acts except a DJ. Damien's music was excellent. The backing violin recordings were a little overbearing, however, making the performance feel a little like a play-along at times. The real issue was the talking. For such a talented entertainer, he is very boring! Maybe 30-40 minutes of the show were long talks about his "Struggle". I suppose the audience connected with him as a person, but the best part of a concert is the music. Even as big fans we were disappointed. The venue was great.

  • Damien Escobar Unforgettable!!!

ONE WORD: AMAZING!!!! Can't wait until he comes back!!

  • Soul Satisfying!

    by luv2ryde on 12/11/16Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Damien and his band put their souls into every song. As they played, you could not help but feel the vibe deep within. Even if you are not a fan of classical music, he had selections to draw all music lovers in. He is exceptionally talented. Although the show length was great, I could have sat there for hours enjoying his sounds and energy.

I didn't know who Damien was and had never listened to his music before tonight's concert in Detroit (Royal Oak) and was amazed at his talent. Great artist who really connects and gets the attention of his audience. Glad I didn't miss this show!
