Dallas Mavericks History
The Mavericks joined the NBA as an expansion franchise in the 1980–81 season, becoming the league’s third team in Texas, joining the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets. The Mavericks struggled in their inaugural season, but quickly improved with Mark Aguirre, who became the franchise's first All-Star and took the team to their first playoff series in the 1983–84 season. The Mavericks went on to qualify for the playoffs for four more consecutive seasons, culminating in a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 1987–88. They came within one win of the NBA Finals, losing to the Lakers in seven games.
Dallas struggled throughout the '90s, but a new era began when the Mavericks acquired Dirk Nowitzki in 1998. Ownership of the team was sold to Mark Cuban in January of 2000. Cuban immediately began to revitalize the franchise, building around a central trio of Nowitzki, point guard Steve Nash and wing Michael Finley. In Cuban's inaugural year owning the Mavericks, they made the playoffs for the first time in 11 years. This began a streak in which they qualified for the playoffs for 12 consecutive seasons. In the 2011 NBA Finals, they defeated the HEAT in six games to win the only championship in franchise history.
Nowitzki retired in 2019 and passed the torch to Luka Dončić, who led the Mavericks to four straight playoff berths, including the 2022 Western Conference Finals and 2024 NBA Finals.

Great seating customer service, arena staff, concessions.
Mark Cuban is a class act. Wonderful idea to let fans experience the stadium even when the Mavs are not there. Some may never be able to afford lower seats but at this event they did.
Game 6 was great and enjoyed by my sons and me. Energy in the AAC was great.
Love the stadium, love the team, love the experience! Highly recommend whether it is a date night or bringing the whole family. Only complaint is I wish the venue had more vegan options.
Go mavs! Had a great time. Security lines to enter moved quick. Concessions lines moved quick. Employees were all very friendly and helpful. Prices of course are expensive but less than most similar venues. Cool free souvenirs. Great time overall!
Great game, atmosphere was amazing. Look forward to going to more games.
First playoff game attended at American airlines with wife and kids. Everyone had a blast. We won the game as well
Awesome game. Ticketmasters website for pulling up tickets to enter needs a lot of work. WAY too many clicks to get to ticket.
Everything was fine, they just need to improve on the consession stand they are slow service . I didnt get to my seat til 5 munites after the 3rd quarter started.
While the seats were pretty high up, I still had a nice view, concessions and restrooms were close. Getting into and out of the arena went quickly and smoothly. Except for losing the game, it was a great experience. The Mavericks played tough and if they'd just hit a couple of shots at the end. Oh well. Already purchased the same tickets for Game 5 of the series.
must not miss event at all. much different vibe than the regular season
Awesome game overall. Can’t wait to see my boys flourish.
Great seats great view great atmosphere. Just need more leg room in those 300s seats. And seats are crammed together.
Seats were great and it was free hat night! Luka is amazing to watch in person!
Venue was great. It was clean and had good food. Lines were not too long. We had a fab night.
Incredible experience! 10/10 from the game to the service to the food. Can’t wait to go back again!
50 wins was excited to see this season🗣GO MAVS GO MAVS GO MAVS
Dear Mark Cuban, not too many families can afford to spend $500+ to see a basketball game. More out of touch billionaires.
We enjoyed being at the game. Parking was easy and close to the AAC. It was exciting & fun being there. All the employees we came in contact with were nice and personable. The only take away was how small the seats are. I can only imagine being between two bigger people than me. That would not be comfortable at all
The game was awesome and the Mavericks are amazing they recognized my grandson and that will never be forgotten the experience was great
