Dallas Mavericks History
The Mavericks joined the NBA as an expansion franchise in the 1980–81 season, becoming the league’s third team in Texas, joining the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets. The Mavericks struggled in their inaugural season, but quickly improved with Mark Aguirre, who became the franchise's first All-Star and took the team to their first playoff series in the 1983–84 season. The Mavericks went on to qualify for the playoffs for four more consecutive seasons, culminating in a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 1987–88. They came within one win of the NBA Finals, losing to the Lakers in seven games.
Dallas struggled throughout the '90s, but a new era began when the Mavericks acquired Dirk Nowitzki in 1998. Ownership of the team was sold to Mark Cuban in January of 2000. Cuban immediately began to revitalize the franchise, building around a central trio of Nowitzki, point guard Steve Nash and wing Michael Finley. In Cuban's inaugural year owning the Mavericks, they made the playoffs for the first time in 11 years. This began a streak in which they qualified for the playoffs for 12 consecutive seasons. In the 2011 NBA Finals, they defeated the HEAT in six games to win the only championship in franchise history.
Nowitzki retired in 2019 and passed the torch to Luka Dončić, who led the Mavericks to four straight playoff berths, including the 2022 Western Conference Finals and 2024 NBA Finals.

First time game event for grandkids!! It was an amazing experience. Mav contact and fan gift was appreciated. Really had a memorable time for a substantial value. Will look at returning regularly. Thanks for making professional sports accessible for regular families!
Nice seats and great game. Got to see Dirk and Lica’s Last game as a teenager!!
I had an amazing time I wish I can go to all they home games. I love seeing them win and everything was so new to me there 😌 but I love going to see them play
The game was alright halftime performance was bad. Luka was injuried so that didn’t help! The game was slow and boring not much high action!
I went because I am a Miami Heat fan and knew this was probably the last time I would see Dwyane Wade in person I had to be there. I was stunned how many Miami Heat fans were there. This also might be last time for Dirk Nowitzki. (Boy he really hobbled around the court. But it was all good, Miami Heat won 112-101.
we lost this time but game was GREAT. Facility was clear, Staff was courteous. Vendors were we staffed. Actually the whole venue is to be proud of...........billie
From my parking pass to my game tickets everything worked well with the tickets on my phone.
Recent work transferee to the MetroPlex and I bought a ticket in the Platinum/Club Level snd was impressed with the facilities and staff at American Airlines Center. Also rode the DART Orange line right to the arena, easy. Will be back to watch my VGK take on the Stars!
I like the ease of getting in the doors and getting to your seats. The game was fairly interesting even though I already knew what team would win.
The game was great. Doncic abd Leonard showed in and out. Star driven league. Will definitely continue to check out multiple games every year.
My son and I had a blast! It was easy in and out and the stadium was a nice layout. It was our first time here, we live in San Antonio, Texas. Everyone that worked at the Stadium was very friendly and helpful!
Great way to buy very easy tickets from your home and price choices, for the ticket price we have a great view of the basketball court, game was fantastic Mavs played very well and in this occasion they won, it was a wonderful game experience.
We were in first row in section. No leg room at all packed in aisle like sardine
What a great experience. We took our daughter to this game, as she had never experienced a live Mavs game before and she loved it. The energy and spirit that is generated throughout the game is awesome. We plan to see a few more live games before the season ends.
Great experience with my family at the game! Overall everything was awesome except the food!
I enjoyed every moment of the game except the fact that Lebron didn’t play or show up.
Security guards, Food Servers, and Ushers are polite and friendly. I don't like the timeshare people. They are at every game trying to get people to sign up for timeshares. They aren't as aggressive as some salespeople. Bathrooms are always clean. I like the AA Center, things are expensive but not outrageously expensive. I parked in the Lexus parking lot. It's easy to get in and out of the Lexus parking lot. It's a short walk to the AAC. Prior to every Mavs game, security exits are announced.
Positives..I was able to catch the Dart train straight to the AA center. Great game overall! I like the take home favorites...a light up neck rop. The music could be better between breaks. Also, maybe provide something that list all food options so your not walking in circles.
This was my first time seeing luka play and he's a great player also DeAndre Jordan they gave a really good show.
