    Not one more time

by harder better faster stronger on 6/21/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

This event was advertised as a lineup of DJs spinning Daft Punk songs. In the 1.5 hours my partner and I were at the venue, there was 1 person onstage who seemed very new to DJing. She would talk over the music with awkward banter, played about 3-4 other Daft Punk songs sprinkled in-between a bunch of other random tracks (she played "Around the World" twice). Most of her transitions were either not beatmatched well, or she accidentally stopped the music entirely (on more than one occasion). I never caught her name, and I think that was intentional. The crowd seemed to be optimistic and did their best to support her, but my partner and I just couldn't get into it. I don't think we will be coming back to another Daft Punk night.

    Dancing till I dropped!

by LoveMusic on 6/20/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

Amazing. Very interactive and full of positive energy! She didn’t wear headphones and she listened to what the audience wanted. Great music and tons of grooves. Old and present styles. Loved the happy vibe and the staff at the venue. Saw them getting into the music too! Great venue for a more intimate experience.

    Eh

by VB on 6/20/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

The bartenders were great and fast, but the DJ experience was not it. Barely played Daft Punk, song choices and mixing ruined our groups vibe. Spent more time off the floor because of the music. Left about hour and 1/2 into the show.

not a lot of Daft Punk songs

by BluRzr on 6/20/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

I realize it wasn't the actual Daft Punk DJs, but I expected way more than just a handful of Daft Punk songs, and the ones you did hear were only sprinkled in here and there as samples rather.

    Disappointed

by Jay on 6/20/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

Advertisement said daft punk night. This was definitely not a daft punk night. DJ claimed the set was “inspired” by daft punk. Only a handful of songs was daft punks. She didn’t like people wanting to listen to daft punk, and got annoyed at the crowd for asking for some daft punk songs.

Total disgrace to the Daft Punk name!

    by J. B. on 6/20/23

I feel really mislead with the advertising of this event. Throughout the entire set barley any daft punk was played, it got to the point where crowd members were holding up signs and chanting for daft punk to be played. The DJ got outwardly hostile to the crowd telling us that the show was inspired by Daft Punk and if we only wanted to hear them to go to their show, as if that is even possible. We could have all enjoyed a good mix of music but the actual show contained maybe 4-6 daft punk songs which was far from adequate considering it was called Daft Punk night. This was a disgrace to the Daft Punk name and you’d be better off listening to their albums at home!

    Bad experience

by Kyle on 6/20/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

Throughout the event, the DJ displayed unprofessional behavior by yelling at the crowd for requesting Daft Punk songs. At one point during the night, she turned up the volume to an aggressive level, which not only violated the acceptable sound limits but also posed a potential risk to our hearing. Such conduct is unacceptable and made the experience unpleasant for attendees. The event was advertised as "PLAYING ALL THE BEST DAFT PUNK HITS & DEEP CUTS + FRENCH ELECTRO, DISCO, INDIE-DANCE AND MORE!" However, the DJ failed to deliver on these promises. Instead of playing a diverse mix of Daft Punk, French electro, disco, and indie dance, she primarily played mainstream hits with only a few scattered Daft Punk songs mixed in. This lack of adherence to the advertised event significantly deviated from our expectations. As the night progressed, the DJ's performance further deteriorated. Song transitions were amateurish, resulting in abrupt and jarring shifts between tracks. Additionally, the DJ repeatedly apologized for technical failures, which disrupted the flow of the event. The overall quality of the concert was far below what one would expect from a professional DJ, making it the worst concert experience I have ever encountered. The DJ even played multiple songs twice, and the crowd clearly did not enjoy that.

    Don’t be fooled

by JP on 6/20/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

It is not Daft Punk, it is Daft Punk Inspired night. According to the DJ, that means barely playing daft punk. Giving the DJ the extra star for going off on the crowd. That was hilarious.

    It was ok

by DJ Josh on 6/20/23Ace of Spades - Sacramento

DJ talked too much and didn’t play enough daft punk. Should’ve played originals and less remixes

    Seriously?

    by Sanz on 6/20/23

As a Daft Punk fan, I had high hopes, but this event was a disgrace! The DJ's transitions were terrible. Their only way they made the crowd cheer was when they came out of the DJ booth and danced. For an event like this, there is zero room for error. I really thought there was going to be another DJ playing, but they were the only one. I was so disappointed that I left within the first hour of the show. Even others around me were but happy about it. If you guys are going to promote a Daft Punk, hire a s better DJ... Please! Save your money and listen to Daft Punks sets online instead.

    Absolutely Terrible

    by C. S. on 6/18/23

Please do not waste your money by buying tickets to this event. Three hour set and maybe only four Daft Punk songs were played. DJ was aggressive and confrontational when the crowd asked for more Daft Punk songs. The DJ said if we wanted to hear Daft Punk songs we should go buy a ticket to see them instead. Apparently the songs the DJ played were "inspired by" Daft Punk... as a life long Daft Punk fan the songs played were terrible. Completely false advertising. It is criminal that this event is happening with the title "Daft Punk Night". There is nothing Daft Punk about this event at all.
