Daði Freyr on Tour

The eccentric Daði Freyr is an Icelandic electric-pop singer, songwriter and musician. Although Freyr has been making music for over a decade, he is best known for his 2020 ultra-viral single "Think About Things." He is set to commence his 15-stop 2022 tour across the United States and Canada. Freyr's live performances are filled with upbeat, synth-heavy hooks, funky instrumentals and plenty of danceable tracks, making his show a must-see for all EDM and pop-loving fans. Starting his solo career in 2017 with his EP Næsta Skref, Freyr has continued to produce a number of singles such as "Skiptir Ekki Máli," "I Thought I'd Be More Famous by Now (Daði Freyr Remix)," "Heyri Ekki,'' and "Endurtaka Mig." He released his first album, & Co., in 2019, and followed that album with popular songs "Think About Things" in 2020 and "10 years" in 2021.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Freyr started his musical career in 2012 with electric pop band Retrobot. In 2012, Retrobot won the annual Icelandic battle of the bands contest, Músíktilraunir. Shortly after, Freyr moved to Berlin where he began studying music production with the goal to win the Eurovision Song Contest. His 2017 song "Is This Love?" was submitted for Söngvakeppni, the Icelandic song contest that decides the entry into Eurovision. "Is This Love?" didn't win Söngvakeppni, but it introduced the talented Daði Freyr to the musical community. His 2020 song "Think About Things" did win Söngvakeppni and was set to be a strong contender in Eurovision until the shutdown of the contest due to COVID-19. Although falling short of his Eurovision dreams, "Think About Things" became an international hit and overnight sensation, garnering online praise from celebrities including Russell Crowe and Jennifer Garner. "Think About Things" received a silver record in the UK, was listed at No. 6 on TIME magazine's Top 10 Songs of 2020 and currently has more than 118 million streams on Spotify.

Dadi was so funny and so good. I bought my tickets like a day before the show, and I am so glad I did, I've been a fan for about two years now, and it was phenomenal. Honestly almost went to the saturday show too.

    Fantastic and Fun

    by TeacherWoman36 on 3/11/249:30 CLUB - Washington

I wasn't sure what kind of a show Dadi was going to put on, but I figured it was going to be a good time. I went to the 10pm show in DC, and went with my husband and 8 year old son. It was a fantastic show. Dadi was engaging, funny, and just as good live as in his recordings. He made sure to make the audience feel welcome and feel a part of his performance. I would definitely go see him again if he ever came closer to me!

2nd time seeing Dađi at 9-30 club, and I hope it won't be the last. An energetic, fun, and witty performance.

How does it keep getting better?

by Dolyn on 3/10/24Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia - Philadelphia

An amazing performance! Dadi Freyr is most certainly a wizard on the stage. The music was phenomenal, and his presence and banter was charming, engaging, and fantastically silly. The whole group is just phenomenal.

Fun funky night of great music

by Dennis on 3/10/24Warsaw - Brooklyn

Dadi Freyr puts on a very fun and interactive show where he's not afraid to show he's human but also very charming. Great music whether you go alone or as a group. His constantly sold out shows are for a reason: he has great music, vibes, and knows what it means to be a performer.

    More Dadi please!

by K. on 10/8/22The Depot - Salt Lake City

Wait times were terrible! It was an hour wait for the opening act to start, that show lasted about 15 min and was just ok… then it was another 40 min wait before Dadi Freyer started singing. Dadi’s show what amazing once it finally started. He is a great singer and showman! Get a better opening act and cut the wait times and it would have been a perfect show!!

Great Show in the “Saltiest and Lakeiest” City

by LSearcy on 10/8/22The Depot - Salt Lake City

By far one of the best shows I’ve been to! Took my teens, including my son with ASD. He spent a lot of time worried about standing and that he was up past his bed time. The minute Dadi came out he forgot all about that and danced - which is a pretty big deal. Venue was great. Staff was great right down to the guy selling merch. Just a really fun night.

Great concert, Venue needs better management

by Mor on 10/7/22Summit - Denver

Dadi Freya killed it up there the venue was packed! He played all the his best stuff and a new release. The venue Summit, put doors open on the ticket. But had no info about opener or when Dadi was going on. We waited an hour for an opener and an hour between sets. Just poor management of the night. As someone who works in a entertainment venue myself. Summit was a disappointment.

    Great show too short

by The guy 420 on 10/7/22Summit - Denver

I loved the music but the show was very very short over at 10pm and started at 9 I didn’t expect to pay 70 dollars for 2 tickets for 1 hours music

    Dadi Freyr : D)

by Balelie on 9/26/22Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

Dadi Freyr had great stage presence. He even ran around the whole room. We loved his songs in Icelandic and in English. He did a few covers of other artists, and it was better than the original. We had a great evening with Dadi! Organization-wise, when you buy the ticket and it says that it's at 7 pm, it should start then. There was a 1st part, and the show really started at 9 pm. That's a bummer. The information should reflect the truth.

    Work that crowd Daði!

by DanK on 9/26/22Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

How often do you get to see a rising star from Iceland, in the United States? Pretty rare. The Daði Freyr show was exactly what I was expecting, but even better. He's clearly enjoying the recognition he's getting, and it's so well deserved. The fans were awesome - despite most of us not knowing Icelandic, everyone was digging the show, attempting to sing along, and just enjoying how wonderfully deadpan, quirky and energetic Daði's songs and performance were. Perfect venue size - and he worked the room, literally, the entire room, like a seasoned pro.

    Unexpected Delight

    by N. Z. on 9/26/22

Honestly didn’t know much about him other than he was Iceland’s Eurovision person. The show was so fun, and Dadi is a loveable awkward person. He’s very funny. The music was great, and he created a fan!

Wear a mask, arrive early, and get the upgrade to the table

by Lissa on 9/25/22Irving Plaza - New York

The concert was great! However 900 people without masks—probably not the smartest thing. I started showing covid symptoms a couple days later. Also we arrived early and upgraded to the tables so we had great seats. However we should have bought the cheapest seats first because it costs the same to upgrade no matter where you are seated before upgrading.

    Fantastic, Fun Concert!

    by Joanne on 9/24/22

Dadi puts on a great show- part musician, part funny man! He engaged the audience with humorous banter between songs. I went for the music, which I love, and got some much more! A natural entertainer. Our group had added excitement as my daughter randomly met him in a store the afternoon before the concert. He’s a genuinely nice guy and I’m looking forward to seeing him again- come back to Boston soon Dadi!
