    LOVED D'Angelo!

by ChocolateMelodies on 8/24/15The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Loved D'Angelo and The Vanguard. Totally ROCKED!!! Our seats were very uncomfortable, so when D'Angelo "finished" his set, we really thought it was over and proceeded to leave. Turns out he came back, but by that time, we had already made our way out (I was really bummed about that). BUT I enjoyed his set. Loved the energy. And would totally go see D'Angelo again. In fact, I'm searching right now to see when he will be at a great venue in the southern Cal area.

    D'Angelo

by dblast27 on 8/24/15The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Put on a great show, didn't sing but 2 classics a remix of brown sugar, and Untitled. The rest of what he sung I was not to familiar with. Sam Dew the opening act put on a great show, would definitely pay to see them again, but at a discounted rate.

    AMAAAAAZING!!!!!!

by KIT777 on 7/2/15Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

This was one of the best shows I've ever been to. I can now understand why people follow musicians on tour, because there is nothing quite like being in the presence of musical magic. D'Angelo left his heart on that stage. He and his band ROCKED IT!!! I have loved D'Angelo ever since Brown Sugar came out and have probably listened to Voodoo about a million times, more in love with it after each listen. When Black Messiah came out, I loved it, but wasn't as in love with the album as the previous ones. HOWEVER D'Angelo and the Vanguard brought each and every song to LIFE!!! Wow!!! They killed every song! And you can really tell he nurtures his band, and he gave everyone ample opportunity to shine. AND he gave us TWO encores!!! We couldn't get enough of him and he kept coming back to give us just a little more, including an extended version of "How Does It Feel?". The opening act, Meg Mac, was also amazing. When they were announced, we were like, "Who??". We wanted D!!! But she and her band were INCREDIBLE! Yes, the show got to a late start, but it was WELL worth the wait! They gave us more than our money's worth, they gave their heart and soul through their music. And it elevated us. What music is about! I'm still on cloud 9 from this show!

dude; let me tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed this show. The band is tight and D'Angelo is off the meters awesome. He has a "JB/Prince vibe" that really seems to work. And lyrically, dude seriously takes you on his journey. When I listen; I hear ART. D'Angelo is SO relevant!

Music was good but be respectful of time.

by SEVEN01 on 6/30/15The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Artist today seem to be more and more disrespectful and into themselves so much that they can even be ON TIME... His music was good but if I'm paying my hard earned money and the artist comes out 30 or 45 minutes late, I don't want to pay money to see them again. Now you might say your only one person so your 60 bucks doesn't count. But what if I'm not the only one who felt like this. I promote also, I had an event with Carl Thomas, The Force MD's and 2 other acts. My show started on time and my artist appeared on time. Beside Carl Thomas, but he was only 10 minutes late coming to the stage. Artist....get over your DIVA COMPLEX and come to work on time. Remember working people pay for your concerts and without them your lifestyle can't be supported. You may sell albums but we all know that hardly pays the bills, so be on time please. I will never go to another D'Angelo concert. I will listen to the music on the internet or something.

    What An AMAZING Show!

by LoriIrie on 6/29/15Royal Oak Music Theater - Detroit

Wow. D'Angelo's brilliant artistry is sensational. From beginning to end this man's stage presence was remarkable. He and his band put on a SHOW. His full band was just as great. I keep having flashbacks to the concert. His energy, his soul, his funk. Pure artistry! I would go see him again tomorrow and the day after that. D'Angelo is greatness.

Groove , funk and smiles all around. so amazing!

by rachxparis on 6/29/15Forest Hills Stadium & Bonnaroo Music Fest - queens

D'angelo and the vanguard was absolutely amazing. Kendra foster opens Really love with this beautiful cuban dance and is mesmerizing, D'angelo dedicates the song The charade to the charleston church killings and other recent black killings in the united states. The band brings such an amazing energy and their melodies and harmonies are on point. I saw them twice this summer,, ,once at Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee where he played for 90 minutes at 2 am in the morning and was on fire. And then again at forest hills stadium in queens NY. At the stadium they played for a much longer time and did a lot of oldies and new ones. This band's music attracts people from every demographic and age and will have you singing, waving your hands and dancing , so please go and enjoy.

    Lukewarm Performance

by Nic367 on 6/29/15The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

If you've never had an opportunity to see D'Angelo, highly recommend just to say you had the experience. OVerall, I had mixed feelings abt the show. He and his band were incredible, but I was hoping to hear a good mix of old and new. He didn't do any old songs. So if youre looking for a rousing rendition of D'Angelo favorites, you will be sorely disappointed. And for the record -- I really dislike the Fillmore venue. It bad enough you have to stand, but the air conditioning didn't seem to start working until 2 hrs of us being in the venue. Horrible!

    Dope-Angelo (D'Angelo and the Vanguard )

by Soulcinematic on 6/28/15The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

D'Angelo was phenomenal. If you have never seen him love you are indeed in for a treat, Dope show. The show was great but hard to see and way too many people packed into the Fillmore. Not my favorite venue to see live acts only and unless you get a seat.

D'angelo & the Vanguard: Second Coming

by KUTImack on 6/28/15The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Despite the late start, D' & his crew went for blood, leaving NOTHING left when the house lights finally went up after a full energetic set. While the Brown Sugar Tour ushered in a much needed renaissance for R&B music and the Voodoo Tour cemented his transcendent status...The Second Coming show was him at his most free; him at his (& his band's) peak. The Vanguard was as tight as Aaron Neville's t-shirts, transitioning from groove to groove like D'angelo had a remote control. He's never sounded better nor seemed happier live & I'm grateful to have been a witness. Bravo.

D'Angelo was late gracing the stage by more than an hour, however, his opening act, Meg Mac an up and coming artist gave a wonderful performance! When the Vanguard started the instrumentals and D'Angelo appeared, the crowd, including myself went wild!!! I would've preferred a different venue which wasn't "Standing Room Only," especially after his late appearance, but once they began to rock, sitting was the farthest thing from my mind and I would do it again to enjoy another outstanding performance by D'Angelo and the Vanguard! It was my second time seeing him perform and it will not be my last! I would have loved a photo opportunity with him, especially since I was so close to the stage, but he gave me some dap and that was alright with me!

    D'Angelo and the Vanguard...Dayum!

by SilentBoatman on 6/24/15The Norva - Norfolk

D'Angelo was in rare form, the band was tight. The whole show was amazing. The only negative which had nothing to do with D'Angelo was that the venue was standing only and the back and knees were on fire. If you love music, musicianship and want to have a good time...go see this show.
