This was one of the best shows I've ever been to. I can now understand why people follow musicians on tour, because there is nothing quite like being in the presence of musical magic. D'Angelo left his heart on that stage. He and his band ROCKED IT!!! I have loved D'Angelo ever since Brown Sugar came out and have probably listened to Voodoo about a million times, more in love with it after each listen. When Black Messiah came out, I loved it, but wasn't as in love with the album as the previous ones. HOWEVER D'Angelo and the Vanguard brought each and every song to LIFE!!! Wow!!! They killed every song! And you can really tell he nurtures his band, and he gave everyone ample opportunity to shine. AND he gave us TWO encores!!! We couldn't get enough of him and he kept coming back to give us just a little more, including an extended version of "How Does It Feel?". The opening act, Meg Mac, was also amazing. When they were announced, we were like, "Who??". We wanted D!!! But she and her band were INCREDIBLE! Yes, the show got to a late start, but it was WELL worth the wait! They gave us more than our money's worth, they gave their heart and soul through their music. And it elevated us. What music is about! I'm still on cloud 9 from this show!
