About
Cyndi Lauper is a pop singer and activist from Queens, New York. Upon the release of her 1983 debut album, She’s So Unusual, Lauper became a pop sensation, thanks to the success of Top 5 singles including “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” “Time After Time,” “She Bop” and “All Through the Night.” Lauper also won Best New Artist at the 1985 Grammys. Her second and third albums, True Colors (1986) and A Night to Remember (1989), added more hit singles like “True Colors” and “I Drove All Night” to her oeuvre and by the end the decade, Lauper had become synonymous with the ’80s new wave movement and synthpop sound. In addition to her twelve solo albums, Lauper also wrote the music and lyrics for the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots, for which she became the first solo woman to ever win the Tony for Best Original Score. In the fall of 2024, the singer embarked on her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour in conjunction with her documentary film LET THE CANARY SING.

Cyndi is an amazing singer. She has so much talent. I had a blast
Cyndi Lauper was FABULOUS!!!!
by boilerroomboy on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5Cyndi Lauper put on an excellent concert at Bergen PAC last evening. She truly embraces her fans and marches to a different drummer. There can only be one Cyndi Lauper!
Cyndi's Hair and Her Show were red hot!
by Fleabag87 on 6/28/10House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 4 out of 5Extremely energetic - what you would expect! The Blues section showed off vocals - but songs most likely will be new. Ended with powerful renditions of old favorites! Her band was phenom!
Not that good
by Devanchik on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 3 out of 5Sang mostly blues. Got boring after a while. Near the end of the show she sang a few of the oldies. She still has a great voice, though. I left prior to the first encore.

Cyndi was great as usual, just wish she would have played more of her older hit songs. She only played for about 1 hr 30 min. Wish she played a little longer. The theatre was very hot too.

Cyndi's opening act, David Rhodes, was so bad that people kept walking out throughout his set to go the bar or just stand around outside rather than sitting through his performance any longer. Others were openly booing him. Cyndi came onstage about an hour later, said hello to the audience and then spent about 10 minutes fine tuning the sound on her mike, etc. with the sound guy offstage all the while looking pissed that they could not get it right. The following hour or so was her performing her entire newly released blues cd. Some songs were better than others. The final 20 minutes of the show (she only player for 90 minutes total) consisted of covers of other artists and 3 of her signature songs (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, All through the Night and True Colors). Cyndi still has a great voice and is very energetic, etc. which made the show more entertaining than it would have been otherwise but the show was just to short and three songs from her old catalog is just too few especially considering the fact that the ticket prices were so high. To make matters worse, there was no air-conditioning at the venue and the seats were very narrow so everyone was packed in like sardines and sweating their butts off. I was disappointed and would not go to another Cyndi Lauper concert based on this experience.
Cyndi abandons mostly all her music for blues
by Maromode on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 2 out of 5Slow blues no dancing boring unknown music dissapointed
Bergen Pac
by lauperfan9 on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 3 out of 5While I enjoyed Cyndi Lauper's concert, her warm-up singer had little to be desired. Also, she and her band didn't come on stage till 8:50 pm - a bit late of a start I thought for an 8 pm concert.
Cyndi Lauper Live
by Pabz on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5Her voice range is amazing and so is her stage command. She is definately one of the few real artist that are left that does not need to use "smoke an mirrors" to make a good show. She is the real deal. The first part of the show she sang the blues and she nail it.
Our meet and greet with Cyndi
by JoeyInBoston on 6/28/10House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5Out of this frigging world. I have met her before, and I really wanted to again. I took my partner with me, and surprised him with the meet and greet. We had balcony seats with an unobstructed view. I also thought the staff was very helpful. The drinks were a little pricey, but it was all worth it. Ample restroooms and drink bars, and even when it was full, I did not feel crowded. I spent 900.00 on two great seats with two meet and greets for me and my partner. I would go back every single month to see her if I could. Thanks for the great venue. Joey
Seeing Her in Englewood!
by JoeyInBoston on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5I saw CL in Boston the night before, and she was amazing...But at Bergen, the whole setting seemed a lot more personal. We were 6 rows from the stage, and it was all seats. There were no general admission standing only spaces. She actually came down into the audience, and stood up on seats to sing and talk to us. I feel like she really enjoyed all the people really enjoying themselves. Incredible...When I got to my hotel, here tour bus was parked there. I am just thrilled at the whole experience. Thanks!
Cyndi Lauper at Bergen PAC
by DeOrnament on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5First of all, Cyndi came out in an outfit that is truly her and displayed a set of legs a woman half her age wished she had. Her set was divided into two portions. The first half featured songs of her latest CD of blues covers that her voice was made to sing. Then, after a very short break she returned to the stage to perform some classics set to new arrangements probably meant to highlight the new blues musicians who are backing her on this tour along with her long time bassist Bill and piano player Steve. If there was one drawback it was the show seemed too short; otherwise it was pure Cyndi=perfection!
Cyndi! Cyndi! Cyndi!
by RZFromNJ on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5Cyndi was awesome. Cyndi sang the blues mixed with some of the old favorites. A outstanding performance. Cyndi is a dynamic professional. She really knows how to put on a show!
Cyndi Lauper
by PeterJL on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 5 out of 5Theater was hot and too much down time waiting for the show to begin. When people rush to an event and have to wait an hour for it to start with an awful opening act it is unfair. I am a longtime patron of Bergen PAC and have to remark that trouble with the performers accoustics are always a problem, it is not the performer, it is the theater sound system. Cyndi is an awesome performer who engages the crowd and feels and returns their admiration. Only wish there were some additional older songs and the show should have been 2 hours of her, not 1.5 hours.
Cyndi Lauper is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
by jennajeffa on 6/28/10House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 4 out of 5Loved, loved, loved her. The new music was GREAT and well she had to play all those TERRIFIC 80's tunes we worshipped. She was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Felt like a teenager again.
Skip the Blues
by initials on 6/28/10BERGEN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - EnglewoodRating: 2 out of 5Cyndi can still sing and has lots of energy but we still did not enjoy the show. She spent too much time on music that is not her style. The band was also too loud and overpowered her voice. The second half of her performance was a little better when the songs were more familiar songs but they were not sung the same way we are used to. She embellished them a little too much. If she had started with her own songs instead of trying to copy other peoples' songs, we may have gotten more into it. I understand about updating your songs, but it just didn't go over well with us. But after a terrible opening act and a very long intermission, it was a long wait for her to show her wonderful talent.
Cyndi is a MUST SEE!
by DezignGrrl on 6/28/10House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5Cyndi was born to sing the blues! This girl still wants to have fun, and she certainly knows how to energize a crowd, demand a performance out of her musicians, and she has the chords to belt out the high notes. I came to the show with no knowlege of blues music and left wanting more- the songs she picked to cover exemplify her need to showcase her talents and portray the image of a strong woman through their lryics.

Cyndi Lauper was incredible!! I would go to all her shows if I could. Fantastic performer and a great person-so down to earth! Thanks for coming to Boston!
