About

Currents is a metalcore band that was formed in Fairfield, Connecticut in 2011. It comprises Brian Wille (vocals), Chris Wiseman (guitar), Ryan Castaldi (guitar), Matt Young (drums) and Christian Pulgarin (bass). After independently releasing a handful of EPs, Currents put out their full-length debut The Place I Feel Safest in 2017 via SharpTone Records; the album showcased anguished vocals, electronic flourishes and djent-influenced rhythms. Their breakthrough second album The Way It Ends followed in 2020, and their third album, The Death We Seek, was released in 2023. Currents have toured in support of bands such as August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, Ice Nine Kills, Thy Art Is Murder, and We Came As Romans.

  • Amazing stage presence

by Currents on 11/18/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I love the fact that they were so humble and just excited to be there. Very nice guys, and their enjoyment bled through to the audience and it was great. Friends that weren’t currents fans before left a current fan after that night. Great set, loved every minute of it!

Mainly went for LMTF and Currents, no disappointments. I’ve only listened to a bit of Invent Animate so it was nice to get a deeper feel for their music. Foreign Hands was brand new to me, bonus for being outta DE. Reminds me of Plagues era TDWP and Austin Carlisle era OM&M but hardcore. Pls host more hardcore as well as the sweet metalcore shows y’all been having. (#YOTK)

  • Incredible

by Alexcia on 6/10/23Baltimore Soundstage - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Currents perform in Baltimore and they are AMAZING. Currents has meaningful lyrics accompanied by IMMACULATE execution. I crowd surfed during one of my favorite songs "Kill the Ache" and Brian (lead singer) smiled and laughed at me as I pummeled towards the stage. I cannot wait to see them again!

  • Amazing show, I just wish the venue was bigger!

by Veritechgg on 5/24/23Marquis - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

All 4 bands on the bill were unbelievable and the energy was amazing! The crowd was hyped, and the bands kept the energy up the entire time.

  • Gangsta all around

by Jacob on 5/23/23Marquis - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

Pulled up to the venue, chill corner in Denver. Accessible parking and cheap. Many bars and restaurants surrounding to grab a bite or drink before a show. I personally partied in my car then walked into the theater once the doors opened, No complaints their. Very good pizza and a bar, need I say more. Small but not overcrowded venue. Good restrooms and staff.

  • Could have been better.

by Concert Love on 5/23/23Marquis - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

The bands were amazing! The venue not so great. The layout is awful. You can the stage area was an after thought. The staff was great and very professional. We go to all kinds of shows but will likely miss one if it was at this venue again.

  • A blast, but too loud

by jen on 5/23/23Marquis - DenverRating: 4 out of 5

This concert was at the marquis theater. All the artists that played were amazing. Currents put on an amazing show! It was so much fun. My only complaint is that I think the show was way too loud. I’m definitely going to start bringing ear plugs. But I think even one still would’ve enjoyed the show if it was a little bit quieter. I don’t need my ears being muffled the next two days!

  • Head slapper

by Bruce Bruce on 5/17/23Saint Andrew's Hall - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

First off currents never disappoints. Brian’s vocals and his delivery are always crisp and on point. Was my first time seeing them as a headliner blew it away. The rest of the line up as well rocked the house invent animate was in god mode that night.
