  • An off night for Crystal

by JK70 on 2/24/13Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 2 out of 5

She warned us at the beginning of the show that she had some problems with her voice, but would do the best she could. Unfortunately, this included having the piano player do a vocal, and other vocals by another orchestra member or her sister. Although her sister had a good voice, she was no Crystal or Loretta Lynn. Couldn't help thinking that her sore throat prompted some variance from what had been planned originally. There was also too much verbal bantering and poor jokes between songs. Her solos were done well, and her voice, which is still terrific, was maybe just a little "off." I saw her perform at a county fair about 15 years ago, and really enjoyed the show, which did not involve much (if any) delegation of the vocals to other singers. Hope she goes back to this kind of format.

  • Crystal Gayle

by MissJenn on 2/24/13Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 3 out of 5

I wish she sang more of her own songs! Her voice was going out so she had a hard time hitting notes. To many other people singing. I didn't pay 60.00 to hear other people sing!

  • Crystal Gayle should quit touring

by Lopsey on 2/24/13Thunder Valley Casino Resort - LincolnRating: 1 out of 5

I had seen Crystal Gayle, years before. It was a bad show then and it's the very same show, now. Same jokes with her sister and between her sister and the band, you hear less of Crystal Gayle and more of them. Not what you pay your money for. Crystal Gayle's attire was pathetic, also. It was just a very bad event. Sorry I spent my money to see her.

Her singing and voice was outstanding. Her stage presence and banter was uninspiring. I guess she felt un-loved because there was no encore. The performance left me wanting more singing and less talk and I was hoping for at least 2 more songs in an encore. That didn't happen & I doubt I would see her again.

  • Crystal still has it.

by guest303 on 1/28/13Belterra Casino Resort and Spa - FlorenceRating: 4 out of 5

Crystal sang many of the old favorites for a pleasant trip down memory lane. She still has the looks and energy. Maybe the band could up the tempo on a few of their selections. Overall we enjoyed.

  • A class act!

by Mightywriter on 1/28/13Belterra Casino Resort and Spa - FlorenceRating: 5 out of 5

Crystal Gayle, her sister Peggy Sue and her band did a very classy and comforting presentation of their music. I took my father because he has always been a Crystal fan, and he loved it, but he was not alone. The room was full of very happy audience members. The evening felt like a warm and safe place to fall on a very cold night. The room size was just right; there really wasn't a bad seat in the house. After the concert, I had to go home and research more about Crystal. She made me remember why I fell in love with her music and her voice many years ago.

Not impressed - the band was a two bit band and she really is past her prime in singing. the seating was horrible! too close together.

  • It was really nice to see her in person

I had always wanted to go to one of her concerts. This was the first opportunity that I had. It was nice to not be blasted out of the venue, be able to understand the words, and not hear any curse words.

  • Crystal Gayle awesome!

  • A Classic Crystal Christmas

    by namwoce on 12/13/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

I've been catching Crystal Gayle's 'Christmas shows' for some 20 years I suppose. The never disappoint and this year in Milwaukee was no exception. Crystal balances traditional Christmas songs with the always recognizable, never tired of Crystal classics. Her voice has become only richer and fuller through the years and the grace and poise of her stage presence is captivating. Add to all of this the talented musicians that accompany her and her likewise talented sister Peggy Sue and you have the makings of a memorable holiday experience!!!

  • A Very Crystal Christmas was fabulous!!

Crystal and her sister and the band put on a real nice Christmas Show

  • Crystal Gayle is beautiful!

    by Thunderbatty on 12/7/12Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater/Expo Center - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

This was a Christmas concert. I am NOT a fan of Christmas music, but she did a nice job. Most of the concert was Christmas music, but she did include about 6 of her own songs that are oldies but goodies. About half way through she brings up her back-up singer, Peggy Lee, who is her sister. Peggy is just okay, and while it's a little hokey, it does add a little variety to the show. Overall it was entertaining and I would recommend it.
