About

CROSBY, STILLS AND NASH IN CONCERT:

Formed at the end of the '60s, folk rock supergroup Crosby, Stills and Nash remain legends to this day, as beloved for their perennial touring as they are for their influential legacy in American music history. The group, occasionally accompanied by Neil Young, has weathered over four decades of dramatic highs and lows, coming out no worse for the wear — in 2012 they released their fourth live album CSN 2012, proving their intricate vocal harmonies were as exquisite as ever and building anticipation for their 2014 tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Their voices were magnificent. You could close your eyes and be transported back to 1969. It brought back so many memories."

"After all these years their harmonies were right on. Each old CSN song was done with a lot of life and attention to detail. These guys really seem to care and it showed."

"Acoustic versions of classics including Helplessly Hoping and Guinevere sounded as good as ever, along with roaring rock & roll classics."

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash had each already been members of successful groups when they got together in 1968, hailing from The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and The Holllies, respectively. After an improvised performance at Joni Mitchell's house resulted in the trio harmonizing together, they took steps to make it official, signing a unique deal with Atlantic Records that used their surnames as the band's name, giving them an unprecedented level of independence and ensuring that the group could not continue on in the absence of one of them. Following the success of their self-titled debut in 1969, they added Neil Young as an official member to round out their touring lineup. The new configuration proved to be a hit — Deja Vu, their 1970 debut as a quartet, landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, going on to sell over seven million copies. Over the course of eight studio albums, the band has penned some of the most iconic songs in American rock music, continuing to thrill fans with arena-filled performances of classic hits like "Ohio" and "Helplessly Hoping."

    A great show!

by SkullnRoses on 5/26/15Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre - Boston

5/19 – Crosby Stills & Nash @ Citi Wang Theater – with a lovely marriage of the still-strong harmonies and a sonicly perfect building, CSN played another strong show, With so many hits, I kept thinking “This must be the end…no , this one, no, this….” but the hits just kept on coming. Never a band to stand still, we got brand new songs from each of the members (not bad for a bunch of 60-somethings!) Except for a couple of hot solos, Stephen was seemingly held in check in the first set, but let loose as the night wore on – Wooden Ships was particularly hot. And a generous hit-laden two-and-a-half-hour show to boot

    waited 40 years!!!

by mudmama on 5/25/15The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Seeing CSN in person has been on my bucket list since high school 40 years ago. I could not have been more excited or impressed with the incredible talent these men have and that their music is as relevant today as it was back then...despite what my HS students tell me :) The concert began with several CSN anthems, then showcased each artist as individuals, including classics and new recordings, ending on a very high note with "Teach Your Children". Life fan!

by Stoneswoman on 5/24/15Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

CSN were so awesome. They played the old songs & brought back the blast from the past. The new songs were awe inspiring. Their harmony still so great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & left singing . The venue was intimate & so easy to come & go. A great event for an even better evening. Loved it!

I've seen these boy a dozen times since the early 80's. This by far was one of the best shows. They were tight...the band was spectacular. And their voices soared! Kudos!!

    Dissapointed

by Rollingworm on 5/23/15Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

I don't know if it's the Oakdale or the guys were just a little off Wed night but I was very disappointed in the show. I saw CSN 2 years back in NYC and they were fantastic but on Wed they were a little flat in my book. Like I said it may be the venues fault but that will be my last time spending hard earned cash on a CSN or an Oakdale show. There is talk about closing the Oakdale and I personally wouldn't miss it a bit.

    CSN was great

by stulaub on 5/23/15Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

I go every year when they come to the area. This was the best show in years. Longer than in the past and much more interactive. Especially liked the encore where the audience sang teach your children.

    CSN at King's Theatre

by CrosbyStillsNashFan on 5/23/15Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

While getting to King's Theatre was a bit nerve wracking, the concert and the venue were amazing. CSN still do an amazing job of harmonizing and making you feel like your lifelong dedication to their music and philosophy is well worth it. David Crosby can sing better than ever, Graham Nash is amazing and Stephen's guitar playing rocked the house over and over again. When they played Suite Judy Blue Eyes the crowd went wild, and Stephen pulled it off, with a little help from his friends! Clear view of the stage, but with no large screen broadcasting the stage you do miss the interactions between the singers as you are too far away to see their faces clearly.

Great Night of Iconic Music; they still have it!

by Number1Mouse on 5/23/15Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

What an amazing night of music that we all know. Graham Nash and David Crosby can still hit those notes and the harmonies were just terrific. Stephen Stills is still a guitar master although his voice has not aged quite as well. Overall a nostalgic night of iconic music and they played for well over 2 hours. (Started at 7:30 ended at 10:30 with a short intermission). I would get tickets and GO!

by Happyfeller on 5/23/15Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

First time seeing CSN but after all these years it was like it was yesterday. Voices are still effective. Very happy we went. Always good to see a concert at Oakdale.

    As good as ever

by caseylove on 5/22/15Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Attending the CSN concert with my 23 year old was 5 stars plus. I saw CSN perform in 1978 for the first time and have been a fan since I was in grade school watching the movie Woodstock and wishing I had been born ten years earlier (today, however, thankful I wasn't!!) David Crosby and Graham Nash sound better than ever - Stephen Stills was not quite as strong but the harmonies of the three together sounded powerful and moving on every song they performed. They performed a number of their old songs as well as some new material which was excellent. I would travel to see their next performance if I had the time!

Crosby, Stills and Nash still got it!

by SM0824 on 5/22/15Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre - Boston

The trio was absolutely awesome. Played so many great songs. Everyone had to leave wishing they had played one other song they did not play, but only because the number of songs they have to choose from is unheard of!!! So glad I went!!

Crosby, Stills and Nash at Their Very Best!

by JackaDonia on 5/22/15Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre - Boston

Given that I am huge CSN fan, whatever I say might be considered prejudiced, to say the least. Also, given that I never miss a concert, I can't help but compare a show with those past (as best as my memory will allow). CSN is always good - not too surprising after 47 years playing together. But, Tuesday, they had some kind of extra spark, right from the opening notes of "Carry On", and maintained that energy right to the last notes of "the Suite", 3 hours later. They seemed more relaxed than usual, telling more funny stories, sharing well-received, great new songs, and seemed to know they were in a house full of friends. The vibe, going both ways, was especially exciting. That unique and glorious blend was up-front, of course, as was the ensemble playing with their best-ever-band. Individually, Stills seemed somewhat restrained, although his solos were ever-tasty. Nash is always riveting and delightful (ooh, that voice!). Crosby, however, joyfully regained his (to me) recently-reduced vocal power and was absolutely spellbinding. He seemed surprisingly stronger, happier and healthier, as both he and Stills looked wonderfully slimmer. With a mix of hits, rarities and new songs, sung and played to perfection, a fantastic band, and a couple thousand people singing backing vocals, this was the best Crosby, Stills and Nash concert I ever attended. And that's saying something! Thank you one more time, David, Stephen and Graham!
