About

COURTNEY BARNETT IN CONCERT:

Australian alt-rock up-and-comer Courtney Barnett is quickly making a name for herself with her witty lyrics and deadpan vocal delivery. Fans of clever wordplay and surprising lyrical juxtaposition will find much to love in jangly gems like "Avant Gardener" and "History Eraser", and Barnett's performance style -- a mixture of shambling ease and surprising precision -- perfectly complements the complex personality she reveals through her music. Barnett is still a relative newcomer, but she's already generated significant excitement for future tour dates with pitch-perfect performances atĀ  showcases around the world.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Melbourne, Barnett attended the Tasmanian School of Art before returning to her hometown to pursue music full-time. After a stint playing with The Dandy Warhol's Brent DeBoer in a band called Union, she made her EP debut in 2012 with I've Got a Friend Called Ferris. She quickly followed up with her full-length debut album How to Carve a Carrot into a Rose, garnering a Best New Music nod from Pitchfork and hitting the road for extensive touring. In late 2013 she caught the eye of Rolling Stone and The New York Times with her performances at the CMJ Music Marathon, with both outlets naming her one of the festival's standout acts. A bright young talent with a diamond-sharp wit, Barnett has fans eagerly awaiting her next tour dates.

Fuzzy, witty fun with CB at CT

by Spongerob17 on 1/26/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I'm used to Courtney Barnett at smaller venues and was curious how she'd handle a bigger room. She didn't disappoint. She and the band put on a rockin' fun show. My only issue was with the half-masked crowd that sat down almost the entire show. Get up and rawk! Still, great time in a great theater. Thanks!

    Anniversary

by Lauren on 1/26/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Courtney is one of my partners favorite artists and I really wanted him to get a chance to see her live. The show was super close to our anniversary and only 3 hours away so I had to get tickets. We listened to her albums and the openers music the whole drive to the theater. It was a really magical and wonderful evening.

    Amazing Performance

by S on 1/26/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

First time seeing Courtney live but she is amazing. She rocked out hard and sounded crisp and clean. Her wit and humor and self deprecating are reasons why I love her and she can be vulnerable. Admitting to her mistakes and later joking about it was endearing. Want to see her again

    Amazing Show

by Maggie on 12/22/21Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

This was my second time seeing Courtney Barnett and it was an absolute treat. She was so solid in her performance and kept saying thank you to us for coming out. The crowd was really chill and didn't do the regular pushing/shoving forward when she came out. There was a mosh pit that started during one of her songs from "Tell Me How You Really Feel", but even the moshing was chill.

    Felt like a dream

by Nour on 12/18/21Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

I arrived at the vogue early enough to get the best seats I couldve asked for and got to see one of my favourite artists ever live and up close :) I was so happy with experience - although it was a seated events the seats were comfy and I still got stand and enjoy the show when Courtney came on šŸ„°. Good thing I bought merch and took a lot of videos, otherwise I really wouldve thought it was a dream šŸ˜. One thing to add is just the change of venue, although it was originally the Commodore which I love - the show ended up being at The Vogue which is also a good venue.

    First concert in my life

by Andrew on 12/17/21Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I have never been to a concert before, and seeing Bartees Strange and Courtney Barnett for the first time live was one of the best experiences ever. I will remember this for the rest of my life.

Courtney Barnett is an absolute rockstar

by Judy Garland on 12/17/21Paramount Theatre - Seattle

This was my first concert since the pandemic began and it was so so perfect. The venue was beautiful and the show was packed! Courtney was on fire and was such a great entertainer. 12/10 would go again.

It was a great event to attend

    by IB2SWEET on 12/17/21Paramount Theatre - Seattle

No pushing or shoving. I was center front row gen. admission. The staff was great! Everything and everyone was really nice...Except for the cop there. The cop was looking at mug shots and trying to identify people. Well, they found me! So I got eyeballed to death for 20 minutes and hassled. I have NO IDEA why at a concert a cop would be there with mug shots...Several different mug shots. That has NEVER happened at an show I have been to. I've been to 100 shows in my life and that's never happened. Cops prowling concert goers is the reason I will stop going in Seattle. I'll go to Canada or Portland. Seattle cops and the event staff need to talk. The event staff was professional and kind. The cop is an over worked busy body at a concert.

    Amazing show!

by Guernseygirl on 12/15/21Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Love the fact she appreciated we were all then when we could have been home watching Succession! For a three-piece band they brought a full sound to the Fox. Awesome show - she's an incredible guitar player as well as a great songwriter. The crowd were all up for a fun night out as well - it was impossible to stand still while she was playing.

    great staff

by Michael on 12/5/21The Depot - Salt Lake City

My gf had a medical issue requiring quick attention. I didn't get their names, but 2 guys, probably one was a manager and the other was an emt or something, were on the scene quickly and helped us to a private location to further check her out. We really appreciated them and their help.

    Great show

by Ang on 12/4/21Knitting Factory Concert House - Boise - Boise

The show was awesome and sounded great. The only issue is we had a table upstairs and the waitress took our credit card and never came back to see if we needed drinks, we had to go up to the bar.

    Excellent

by Rulia on 1/26/20The Queen - Wilmington

Venue was really nice not a bad seat in the house! Opener Hachiku was beyond amazing and Courtney was just out of this world. Had a great time and would go there again. Sound quality was clear. They have a special seating for anyone with a special need and an elevator which was great. Staff was really friendly I wish all venues were like this.

CB and Hachiku at the Queen

by James on 1/26/20The Queen - Wilmington

I luv CB. Up close and personal riffing on her fenders in her slim black suit with free white cuffs. How great was that? And Hachiku was charming dream pop and even 80s and 90s renditions of 99 balloons and the crnaberries' dreams.

    Amazing show

    by S. M. on 1/26/20The Queen - Wilmington

I saw Courtney Barnett year ago with her full band, this stripped down show blew that performance out of the water. She has an amazing talent. The opener was equally amazing. Having a one person band is talented. Great night!!!
