About

COURTNEY BARNETT IN CONCERT:

Australian alt-rock up-and-comer Courtney Barnett is quickly making a name for herself with her witty lyrics and deadpan vocal delivery. Fans of clever wordplay and surprising lyrical juxtaposition will find much to love in jangly gems like "Avant Gardener" and "History Eraser", and Barnett's performance style -- a mixture of shambling ease and surprising precision -- perfectly complements the complex personality she reveals through her music. Barnett is still a relative newcomer, but she's already generated significant excitement for future tour dates with pitch-perfect performances at  showcases around the world.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Melbourne, Barnett attended the Tasmanian School of Art before returning to her hometown to pursue music full-time. After a stint playing with The Dandy Warhol's Brent DeBoer in a band called Union, she made her EP debut in 2012 with I've Got a Friend Called Ferris. She quickly followed up with her full-length debut album How to Carve a Carrot into a Rose, garnering a Best New Music nod from Pitchfork and hitting the road for extensive touring. In late 2013 she caught the eye of Rolling Stone and The New York Times with her performances at the CMJ Music Marathon, with both outlets naming her one of the festival's standout acts. A bright young talent with a diamond-sharp wit, Barnett has fans eagerly awaiting her next tour dates.

Um are you kidding me ticketmaster?

by ODBS on 7/31/22Skyline Stage at the Mann - Philadelphia

I get that we want to survey everything and generate feedback and data and whatnot but you kept us waiting and eating and drinking overpriced food for 3 hours and days later have sent no updates about the status of the show or refunds.

    Courtney Barnett Rocks

What a great performance. Rocked the house for the entire show. What a great sound with 2 guitars and a drummer.

Solid 3 band show but opener was weak

by Hobo636 on 7/24/22Radio City Music Hall - New York

Simple show but solid acoustics. Good guitar driven rock. The songs that depend on distortion sounded eerily similar but the ballads were excellent. The opener was weak and too similar to Barnett. Drinks were dreadfully expensive,

    Awesome concert!

by Janik on 7/24/22Radio City Music Hall - New York

This was my first Courtney Barnett concert - I traveled 6 hours to see it and it did not disappoint! She played a very nice long set, with her best songs from all her albums. Shout out to Bones and Dave too! It was also my first time at the Radio City Music Hall, the seats were very comfortable and the sound of the show was excellent - loud enough but not too much, and very clear.

    Another Excellent Show!

    by RM2Static on 2/7/229:30 CLUB - Washington

Courtney had the place rocking from the very moment she took the stage! I love the passion she brings to every song she performs. The whole place erupted when she played "Pedestrian At Best" and everyone was jumping up and down through the whole song. It was a fun experience and I can't wait until she is back in the area again!

Best CB show I’ve seen across her career

by Chris on 2/6/229:30 CLUB - Washington

Great band playing classics and new songs. So tight, lively, and extremely entertaining. The crowd was beyond ecstatic and I have never seen such enthusiasm and pure joy. It was a though we had all stored up two years of pandemic denied expression of gratitude and let it all out at once, together, masked, vaxxed, etc. This band is on top of their game.

    Just Amazing, so good!

by Calen on 2/6/229:30 CLUB - Washington

It was my first time watching a live performance in DC. The 9:30 club was good, and the staffs were friendly and welcoming. The show was amazing! I love Courtney’s every song and the atmosphere was great!!! The only thing that wasn’t perfect was a girl keep throwing her hair in my face. But it was sooooo good!

    Pure poetry

by Tim on 2/6/229:30 CLUB - Washington

The 9:30 club is a cozy place to catch a show. Even though there was a light drizzle, we were able to get into the venue with little trouble. The coat check was straight-forward and easy to use. The opening act was of a higher quality than most I’ve seen and paired well musically with the headliner. Courtney was fantastic as always. She is incredibly gifted modern poet. I am really enjoying the austere wisdom of her new album. If I had one quibble, it’s that I didn’t get to see Stella on the drums. The other guy on the drums was fine, but Stella is a wizard on the kit. Anyway, still a great time and a great concert. Thanks for sticking around DC an extra night, Ms. Barnett!!

    Courtney was great!

    by D.D. on 2/5/22The Ritz - Raleigh

Courtney sounded amazing and played a great set. The only down side was that the opening act sounded absolutely awful. But as for Courtney everything was an A+

Another outstanding show by CB at the Ryman

by CalamityJack on 1/31/22Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Courtney is an outstanding artist that engages the audience so you feel the show is being put on for you as a friend more so than a fan. The Ryman is a tremendous venue and the staff made getting in (vax check, getting seated) a breeze.

    Amazing experience to see live

by Lynz on 1/31/22Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I drove all the way from Texas to see Courtney in Tennessee! Upon arriving, I got in the venue with no issues, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful when I tried finding my seats and Miss Barnett was phenomenal live. Worth the drive.

Awesome! Loved every minute of it.

by Patty on 1/31/22Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I will be driving down from Indy more often. The venue was great, food was great. Nashville is the place to be for a long weekend. Try Jaspers restaurant on West End ave. It was fantastic.

    Double standards

by MT on 1/31/22Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

Courtney was one phenomenal, but I do think it’s wild that 50% of the act was able to drop off the show last minute, but we couldn’t even transfer (not sell) these tickets to someone else, after a Covid exposure. Over the last two years, we’ve learned that things are unpredictable and often times out of our control. It was disappointing to see $150+ worth of tickets to go to waste. We ended up streaming it from our quarantine bubble, and were even more disappointed to see that Cassandra Jenkins, who did a solid to jump onto this show last minute, was cut out of the stream entirely. Not the artists’ fault at all, but I do think Ticketmaster should reevaluate some things.

    Courtney & the Chicago Theatre

by Great Plain on 1/26/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

I've never been to the Chicago Theatre and loved the Venue. Courtney was excellent, but was welcome to play longer, (90 minutes?). She forgot a verse and it seemed to distract her; she should know matter what, by showing she is human, we love her more. What a great band and musician! Her new LP soon to be purchased!

Great show- enhanced appreciation of Courtney’s guitar skills! I felt very safe, most patrons remained masked.
