  • So amazing live!

    by Cal V on 11/3/23Rating: 5 out of 5

She sounds so fantastic live, not to mention the fact that she seems so genuinely sweet when interacting with the audience. If you get the chance to see her in concert, do yourself a favor, she was amazing!

  • Read the Descriptions!

    by D. D. on 10/12/23Rating: 4 out of 5

To everyone complaining about her not singing older songs, the show description literally said that she would be performing her new album. Come on y’all…

  • Interesting

by Thompcho on 10/9/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 4 out of 5

I was seated in the orchestra section, about 11 rows from the stage. I liked the venue. Seating capacity is about 1100 with free parking. My first time seeing a concert at the Stafford Center. Corinne put on a interesting show. It would have been better (in my opinion) if she had sang more songs from her debut album. She sang two. She sounds good live. Played a good guitar.

  • Disappointed

    by Mr. E on 10/5/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 1 out of 5

Maybe my expectations were too high. Corrinne has made some good music over the years. The music presented in this tour was too far out of left field. Half way threw the concert people were walking out. Because of my experience, I will probably not pay to see her again.

  • Love Her! But....

by EJ on 10/5/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 3 out of 5

The experience was not what I expected or anticipated. The opening act was very exhausting, the crowd needed more of an uplifted introduction and mood to get us ready for Ms. Bailey Rae. We were happy to see Corine once she graced us with her presence. We appreciated the new vibes and sounds, but a blend of her old and new would have kept the crowd more engaged. As I looked over the theater, I noticed that her audience was not as engaged and began to leave before she was even done. Finally the older songs (only two) that she finally granted us at the end (boy did the mood change), many of the ticket holders did not get to enjoy the songs, because they had already left. So, I say "mix it up"for the old and new listeners. Just my thought... Love you Ms. Rae!!!

  • Awesome

Excellent Concert! Great Venue! The seating was perfect. The sound was superb! I plan to attend many more concerts there. Keep bringing great artist!

  • I'd give the concert a grade of C.

by Chris on 10/5/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 3 out of 5

Her concert was more of a promotion of her latest album. I've attended album promotions before, but the artist only performed 3-4 of their new album selections. Most of Corrine's music was unfamiliar (over an hour of new material). Although the audience politely listened, it was in anticipation of the music they knew. It wasn't until her last two songs that the audience came alive when she sang, "Girl, Put Your Records On"and "Like a Star."As much as I really like Corrine, I question if I will attend her future Houston concerts. I surprised my daughter by taking her. She screamed with excitement when she saw Corrine on the marque, yet, she was somewhat disappointed.

  • Different

She has went in a different direction. Unexpected but she is an amazing artist

  • Very Beautiful Relaxing Performance

by Pretty Gyrl Dany on 10/4/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 5 out of 5

I love Corinne Bailey Rae. I've been listening to her music since 2008. One of my favorite persons to listen to whether I'm driving, showering or relaxing. Her music always calms my mood and helps me destress. It was really exciting finally seeing her perform in person, her voice was just as beautiful and relaxing in concert. Corinne was personable and interacted with the audience, explaining how she came up with every single song on the album. I will definitely attend more of her concerts. Really enjoyed it.

  • Music Appreciation

by MooShea on 10/4/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 4 out of 5

CBR’s “Black Rainbow” was a concert based on inspiration and music appreciation. She introduced each song with the Muse which inspired its creation. Most of the songs were based on a Museum in Chicago. People who perhaps didn’t enjoy the concert expected her to perform her pop hits from 7+ years ago. They should try to read the title of the concert to get a hint as to what music the concert will focus on. It was a beautiful performance. The opening act was also entertaining. Thanks Corinne for a wonderful evening of beautiful music!

  • Black Rainbows

by Renee on 10/4/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 4 out of 5

This is my second time seeing Corrine Bailey Rae. I liked the venue. Although I enjoyed hearing the new material, I wish she would have performed more of her other songs as well. She did perform two at the end. All in all, we had a good experience.

  • Disappointing

by Lucky Girl on 10/4/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 3 out of 5

Probably not the greatest sound system, but I expected to hear a lot more variety I. Her voice. I was also expecting to hear some of the songs from when she was first making great music. I didn’t recognize anything on this cd. I was hoping to hear her singing to please a wide range of fans.

  • Highly disappointed

by CMP on 10/4/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 1 out of 5

I am a huge Corrine fan but I was highly disappointed with the show. I understand artists promote their most recent project but she didn't sing one recognizable song. She could of at least mixed in some of her hits. Instead it was 90 minutes of rock n roll mixed with African rythms and holistic music and listening to her tell stories. If you buy tickets be warned, you will not hear anything from her previous albums.

  • Lovely performance

by Dawnelle on 10/4/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 5 out of 5

Such a talented artist! I’m so thankful I got to experience this event and get the backstory on the album. Can’t wait to see her again.

  • Disappointed

by Musiclover on 10/4/23Stafford Centre - StaffordRating: 1 out of 5

Not sure the out-of-tune guitar was playing from the same sheet music as the drummer, or the keyboard, or the singer. I'm sorry, but it was really bad.

  • Do Better

by Ann on 10/3/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 2 out of 5

Overall, I feel like the concert was a little lazy. I did enjoy the opening singer. He was extremely talented, funny, a great personality. However, Corrine was late, her performance was short, and I guess not what I expected. The music was more punk...and not in a good way. There were about two songs that were pretty good, but most I did not enjoy. Her whole concert was focused on a visit to a museum. When people make time and treat themselves to come to a concert, I feel it's the performer's obligation to provide the best possible experience. I spent over $200 for tickets and end up walking out. Please do better.

  • Great show

by Kb on 9/30/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I had read reviews but decided to go anyway as everyone interprets things differently. I flew from Atlanta to see the show in Austin. Like other reviews it is true she only sang two of her old songs and did them at the end of her show. I was hoping for more however let me just say I thought the show was still a great show. Her voice was amazing and the vocalist Melanie Charles did good. Their voices complimented one another. I thought it was very tasteful her vocals was on point. Honestly I listened to the album a few weeks before the show n just wasn’t feeling it. Once I went to the show and heard the stories behind each song and them performed live. I actually dug it. It was a good show even though we only got 2 old songs. I actually got home and started looking to catch the show again with my daughter n listening to the album. Great show n it’s ok that she is evolving maybe there is a reason she chose not to sing old songs. I just saw so much joy in here while singing the new album but when she sang the two old songs the joy in her face wasn’t the same it just seemed forced. I think maybe she is choosing another path for her music which is ok. I would definitely go see her again and appreciated the stories n people she spoke of. Well done I’ve never experienced a show like it.

She did nothing but new material..Very very disappointing 😕

  • Unexpected concert full of storytelling

by Dreevr on 9/29/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 3 out of 5

Was expecting to hear the popular songs Corrine sings. I wasn’t expecting all storytelling especially at night time. Corrine is excellent the storytelling was great but I didn’t want to hear a total concert of such. The orpheum theatre was a spectacular facility! I can’t wait to go to another event at the orpheum

  • Disappointed

by Jen on 9/29/23Orpheum Theater - New OrleansRating: 1 out of 5

I bought tickets to this concert more than 3 months ago, under the impression that she would at least play a few of her old songs. Her new album had not been released. I am glad that she is stretching artistically, but it would have been nice to give her fans who have supported her a few oldies. She has a beautiful voice, and I feel like the music and/or equipment drowned her out.
